I hesitate to give a review for a barbershop because obviously mileage will vary with each particular barber. So this is not necessary a review of Original Barber Lounge (OBL) but a review of the person who cut my hair at OBL. First off, some history. To find my PREVIOUS barber, I went to a salon and tried each person there and eventually found one I liked after like 12+ visits across 3 different barbershops/salons over the course of a year. All the cut leading up to my eventual stylist ranged from so-so to decent to gawd awful. But once I found a person who listened to me and did a great job, I stuck with him for 10 years even when he switched shops... but then he moved to NYC. Fast forward to today, even simple haircuts are more $$ than in the past and I have thinner hair so I don't want to have to try out multiple barbers and suffer through bad cuts to find one I like. Fortunately, after much internal debate, I booked a cut at OBL and chose Jeff cause he's Asian and I hoped would better understand cutting my thinning, Asian hair. Thankfully he listened to what my concerns were and what I wanted in a cut. He gave me a really good cut my first visit and changed it up (at my request) my second visit. I'm sure my next cut going forward will be perfect. I plan to go to Jeff for the foreseeable future even if he leaves OBL (assuming he is still close by). As for the actual shop, it has a very chill and playful environment but I can totally see how others have left it a 1 star and 5 star reviews because it comes down to how well the barber gets you and your hair type and how well they listen to you. Everyone here is friendly but I can totally see some of them going on auto-pilot when cutting hair and not necessarily giving someone the service they deserve for a $35+ cut. I believe a hot towel treatment mid cut is likely something the shop does for all customers so that's likely the only thing I can say about the shop? I like it but it would be hard to say what is shop policy across all employees and what is something each particular stylist/barber provides. read more

Honestly come on Rocky. As soon as I sit down I'm sitting away from the mirror. And I don't turn around until he's done cutting the hair. Im giving him instructions on what I want while looking away from the mirror. The entire cut takes 25 min, in which I had to ASK him to show me the mirror. The entire haircut ends and I don't get to see the progress at all. and when I did ask for the mirror, he fixes it up with hair spray and hair dryer for a while, turns me around, and shows me the hair, undoes the cape thing, signaling that the haircut is over. "Alright we done brah" Honestly one of the worst barber experience I've ever had man. I'm sorry for leaving a bad review and surprised that you have a good following but the more I think about our appointment the more upset I become. I'm not gonna be home hair spraying and blow drying my hair for 10 minutes every time I leave the house. What you did almost feels like a deception to mask poor haircut. Explicit requests like "3 on the bottom of the sideburn" was not honored. I leave the shop and immediately the hair spray breaks and it honestly looks like crap. I took a shower and looked in the mirror and went "damn. This is unpresentable." I wish you didn't take me on if you weren't in the mood. At least it was affordable. read more

Had to say I was severely disappointed in the cut after washing the hair. It was clear Andrew purposely cut my hair unevenly. Leaving parts uneven all over the place. As you can see in the photo, the hair is very unkempt. He uses heavy gel to hide this terrible scissor work read more

If you have a specific style, don't go with Alex. Alex does not listen to instructions nor his own ideas. I asked for him to fix up the sides and trip the top. He mentioned how my side hair doesn't layer well under my hair on the top so he suggested he blends it. I said yeah and he proceeded to give me a fade. Alex does not listen to instructions I am amazed that barbers like him really went a barber school. Two months of hair I had grown out on the sides and really liked, gone in a few minutes.. I have been bringing my sons here for a long time. They usually do a great job with no problems. My older son is very particular and has been growing his hair out. Like most teens he likes the messy hair style look right now. He has been growing his hair out for months but it needed to just be cleaned up. Alex was the barber.... I explained In detail how much to cut. We said an inch off the top and keep the sides long just clean them up I.e trim them. I said he has the long messy look!!!! Well he cut the sides completely off and trimmed it up over his ears. We would not be so upset if we had not explained exactly what we wanted. If Alex was unclear he should've asked more questions. I don't understand how these barbers don't know how to just use scissors and they cut everything with clippers. He didn't even know how to blow dry hair and was literally hitting his head with a brush. He had no idea how to actually use a brush to create a style at all. Everybody does not want the same haircut. They need to realize that and learn more than one hair style not just a fade. Very disappointed and now it's going to take him months to grow his hair back out. I hope the owner reads this and puts more emphasis on his barbers knowing how to do more than one hair style and actually use scissors. Also learning how to listen to what clients ask for and not assuming everybody wants the same haircut. If somebody comes in with long hair they don't necessarily want it all cut off. read more

I don't go anywhere else to get my haircut except for JOSH. This man gets my cut right every time. I drive all the way down from Palmdale just to get my cut from him because I don't trust anyone else. I highly recommend Josh and this shop in general. read more

Been going to Jeff Luciano ever since I moved to Torrance last year. Great conversations and terrific haircuts! But best of all, he is consistently good at fades - I don't think I've ever walked out feeling unsatisfied. The website is easy to book appointments and there's usually always a spot. Great find in the neighborhood. read more

Went here for Jeff the other day, and I could not be happier with my experience. Jeff was very friendly, kind, and communicative when it came to my haircut. I showed him pictures of what I wanted prior to getting a cut, and he is very knowledgeable on what he does. He walked me step-by-step on what he was going to do, and even helped me understand how I could get the look I was aiming for! read more

Original barber lounge is prolly the nicest shop I've ever been to not gonna lie. Overly friendly environment, barbers always engaging in conversation and are super respectful. Kevin Cabrera being my barber, has surgical touch and is always there to help me get right. Wouldn't definitely recommend his services to everyone. read more

The website says "each service will include haircut, hot later with a straight razor on the neck & pomade to finish it off." They gave a hair cut but no straight razor or pomade. I didn't even get asked if I wanted it or not. I would call that false advertising. I'm not sure what they mean by true Hollywood experience because they missed a few hairs by my ear. No real reception upon arrival. And no offer of water or anything. I was hoping to make this my go to spot since it's local to me, but the first impression was disappointing. I would liken the experience to that of a Supercuts. read more

Cool location and shop decorations but the haircut itself was the worst I've had at this price point. I'm not going to name drop the specific barber but please look at pictures online and do not take a same day appointment with whoever is available like I did. The fade was comically nonexistent on the right side, which got pointed out by multiple others who thought I tried cutting my own hair for the first time. I also had to line my edges up myself up when I got home. Choose your barber very carefully! I don't think the owner tries out all of his barbers so some are solid while others are very bad. read more

If you choose Tony as your barber he does an excellent job as you can see from the photos I have posted. They really take their time to do a good job. They have a good system for making reservations. The vibe their is very chill. Highly recommend this barbershop. I am sure all the barbers here do an excellent job as well. read more

I guess the pro tip would to show an accurate photo and be extremely clear on what you want, because aside from the styling and length, the place is clean, the service is great.

My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. And thanks again for the massage therapist recommendation. Rest and recovery, here I come!

If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I did my gel nails $30 regular ($25 Groupon) It's by appointment only. You can text her. Appointments can be early as 7am on weekends or as late past 7pm on weekdays. Everything is extremely clean!! I cannot emphasize how clean and sterile it is! Bring your momma, your grandma, your sister, your cousin, shoot your brother too! You will love !! You will not disappoint!

Original barber lounge is a nice old school place to get cut. It has outstanding people; however, the person who stands out most to me is Diego Ayon. Before I became a customer there my barber James had left me to pursue a career in Vegas. I thought I would never find another barber, but the lord had something better in mind for me. The first time I met up with him he gave me the cleanest fade ever and I haven't been able to get enough of his artistry. I had a hard time finding a barber since I've moved out here to Torrance but luckily found this place on Yelp. You book your appointments online so it's much easier to get a cut without the worries of waiting in line, over the phone appointments, etc. Andrew, the owner, was the one who cut my hair and he did a great job.
