I probably contacted once a year to figure out what was going on, and was told "management will get back to you". They never did, up until a few weeks ago. The reason my membership went up was because back in 2018, the "Dues Lock In Fee" was never paid (they literally have my card information on file). At the time of signing up, they said my monthly fees wouldn't go up. It took you 4 years to tell me that?! To which management said "Well this is the first time I am hearing about this, and I called you right back". Yeah, no. Again I have been trying to contact management for the last four years, and not a single response. To find out, again this was due to an error at the time of signing up? In trying to resolve it, I had two options. They could throw in some personal training (which I declined, since I am being trained by their former trainer), or I could sign up for the Lifetime Membership which they would waive the annual fee. I ALREADY PAID AN ANNUAL FEE with my current plan for the year! Ultimately I said look if you can bring it down to the original price, I'll continue being a customer with yall. They couldn't, so I decided to leave. I genuinely wanted to stay, but with the way management dealt with this, no thank you. This gym is extremely dirty, and I have gone at almost all times. I know they have people who clean the gym, but it's disgusting. Bathrooms look like they are cleaned once, and 9/10 times it's always dirty when I come. I feel like the same machines are always needing to be fixed. The only good things about this gym were how polite the front desk workers were and their inbody scan! Erin is extremely friendly and so polite! I didn't work with all their trainers, but the one I did work with was amazing. It 100% sucked to see her go. The best part of the gym was the in body scan (probably the only reason I wanted to keep the membership). If you are looking for a basic cheap gym, please by all means go ahead.

I've been in more packed gyms that weren't nearly this hot. Aside from that they have most equipment I need from a gym.

They have some really great equipment that is hard to…read morefind elsewhere, especially for building glutes (multiple hip thrust machines from Peach Builder, RDL machine which I've never seen anywhere else, standing hip abduction, angled squat, you name it). They also have a ton of squat racks and benches available so you can probably always find equipment--we came while half the squat racks were taken because a class was in session and we (3 of us) still didn't need to wait for any equipment. My only complaint is that there is no designated room for the classes, so it can get really loud while they're teaching them because you have to work out in the same area. It would have been good to have a warning about that before.

The gym itself is kept spotlessly clean, which I appreciate more than anything. The equipment is always well-maintained and in great working order, no broken machines sitting around waiting to be fixed. If you're looking for a gym where you actually enjoy showing up and getting a good workout among friendly people. City Sports is it.

While I went to town leaving reviews for Waterworks itself, I realize the intimate culprit is City Sports. Their pool is constantly undergoing some sort of HVAC issues which leads to ongoing and almost weekly pool closures. For gym members, I assume you are hoping your gym membership includes access to a pool which means 9 out of 10 times in any given month you are dealing with a closed pool. City Sports, get your act together. Why is your pool closed so many weeks out of the year???

During my visits,…read moreI observed what appeared to be inconsistent treatment of certain members by management, which contributed to an environment that felt less welcoming and inclusive than expected. Additionally, the facility did not appear to be maintained to an acceptable standard. The gym was frequently dusty, and equipment, including dumbbells, was often left unattended throughout workout areas. This lack of organization created a cluttered appearance and raised potential safety concerns. Overall, cleanliness and facility upkeep did not seem to receive adequate attention.  I expect a fitness center to provide a clean, safe, and professional environment for all patrons. Unfortunately, the condition of the facility, combined with concerns regarding member treatment, fell short of those expectations. I encourage corporate management to review these concerns and take appropriate steps to improve both facility maintenance and the overall member experience.

I have only been coming here for a few months, however I feel like the Coach Drew implements some…read morewonderful practices you have that as a fellow educator, I admire. He meets us where we are and will differentiate our work out based on our abilities. He manages to give us a work out that meets us where we are; a challenge but a push. We all have histories with injuries and instead of saying we need to do the same work out, he gives us an alternative. In a class of 2-12 he remembers us and changes it for us. He connects with us on a personal level and remember what we are doing in our life; he remembers where we are going on breaks and our goals. He is approachable and never makes anyone feel inferior. We show up and he celebrates it. There is also John, another coach who is wonderful! He pushes us a little harder but still in our zone that makes us comfortable. I know I need that extra push sometimes. I feel so lucky to have started this program with how wonderful all my peers are. They are so supportive and I feel like this environment has brought out the best in me.

What I love most is that Moxie is a women-only gym. Even when it's busy, it never feels overcrowded or overwhelming. The gym has lots of updated machines and equipment, and it's always clean and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. A special shoutout to Cassandra! She seems to know everyone by name, which really speaks to how dedicated and personable she is. She always takes the time to greet members and genuinely helps create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Moxie, for making it such a positive place to get a work out in. It would be great to see some newer equipment and additions like a Smith machine or hip thrust machine. My sister and I had an uncomfortable experience when we visited together. A trainer asked us to swipe in separately, assuming we were trying to share a membership. The way we were approached didn't feel very welcoming or respectful. It's also frustrating to see the owners opening a new Pilates studio while this location still needs updates. And honestly, for a women's-only gym, it's surprising there's no childcare option. I think that would make a big difference for many members. I prepaid for an annual membership and honestly unsure if I will renew when the time comes.
