In only 2 weeks, I am already realizing a positive difference. My therapist, Virginia, is kind, knowledgeable, and professional.

If you want pregnancy and postpartum care that leaves a lasting imprint on your heart, schedule…read moreyour first appointment with Westover Hills Birth Center. You won't regret it! My daughter Madilyn was born here 30 days ago, and when I look back on my prenatal and postpartum care, I only have feelings of happiness. The care I received from Robin and WHBC will stay with me forever. You will never just feel like a number; you will never be rushed in or out, and the appointments are thorough before and after pregnancy. Robin always made me feel comfortable and safe through all my appointments, through a Pap smear, through cervical checks (late baby), and through birth. Robin is kind, compassionate, confident, and reassuring. I truly can't say enough good things about her. I will genuinely miss her in a couple of weeks when I have my 6-week postpartum check-up. One of Robin's daughters, Stephanie (Steffi), who works the front desk, is also great; she's the front desk worker with hidden leg-holding talent while you're in labor! If that's not dedication to the family craft, I don't know what is. She makes coming into the office warm and welcoming. Alisa is another great piece to the puzzle. If you're on the fence about taking a birthing class, do it; you won't regret it! Alisa leads the birthing class with humor, wisdom, and a confidence you won't find anywhere else. I was nervous, but that faded quickly as Alisa made everyone feel right at home. Alisa has the biggest heart. I'll never forget her spoon-feeding me honey at the end of my labor and stroking my hair during painful contractions. Last but not least, Emily is at Robin's right hand with knowledge and stories. Emily has been a great addition to WHBC, and I'm so glad she's there for my postpartum appointments, holding and doting on my daughter while sharing her midwifery wisdom. The team at Westover Hills Birth Center made my VBAC not only possible but a dream come true. I look back on my daughter's birth beaming with pride every day, but I know I couldn't have done it without Robin and her team. I would choose them again and again.

Robin, Julie and Stephanie were an absolute pleasure to work with. They answered any and all questions we threw at them. They helped us feel at ease when there was anything we were unsure about. We started care at a regular obgyn office and transferred to Westover Hills Birth Center around 4 months as I didn't want to deliver in a hospital (unless necessary). The prenatal care was subpar at the hospital compared to the extensive care we received at Westover Hills Birth Center. Our visits were pleasant and we didn't feel rushed like in the hospital. We looked forward to our appointments and were bummed when our postpartum visits were over! Robin and Julie are very passionate midwives and were very knowledgeable. Both of them coming from different backgrounds in midwifery helped create a fantastic dynamic between the two of them. I had a 26-hour labor and a few setbacks during delivery but alas, because of our badass team, we had the birth we had planned for and they respected our birth wishes. I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative of the love and care we received from West Over Hills Birth Center. We will be recommending them to any families in the future looking to go this route. Every time we pass the Birth center, we look for their vehicles just to stop in and say "hi". They really did become part of our family!

So, if you have Carrot or Maven as a benefit from your employer and you are looking for birth or postpartum doula, look no further than Rooted because they have many doulas you can interview and consider. Second, their office manager Yoly is incredibly helpful and responsive. She always answered my emails quickly and thoroughly. It is clear that her goal is to ensure that moms are supported. You can go to Yoly for any problem or issue, and she resolves them very efficiently and effectively. Third, my doulas Gabrielle and Mercedes were incredible! Gabrielle was my night doula for 8 weeks, and I cannot say enough good things about her. Because of Gabrielle, my breastfeeding journey has been easy and enjoyable (I exclusively pumped with my first)! Not only does she have the knowledge and experience but she has instincts to help you successfully breastfeed. I can honestly say that out of all the lactation consultants that I have seen in both my pregnancies, Gabrielle is the absolute best! Specifically, Gabrielle was able to help with positioning and latching, and she taught me how to use a haaka so that I could catch milk without having to pump. To date, I have not pumped, and yet, I have so much frozen milk thanks to Gabrielle's insight and assistance. She is also just wonderful and a bright light to any household she joins. She supports you during this vulnerable time and really sets you up for success as a mom. I was very sad to say goodbye to Gabrielle, and I know that any family who welcomes her into their home will be in great hands. Mercedes provided me with day and postpartum services. Although I was only able to work with her for 3 weeks, she is so wonderful and has been such an integral reason for my smooth recovery! Her passion is postpartum nutrition, and she is extremely knowledgeable about this topic. If nutrition is your focus when looking for a postpartum doula, then you should work with Mercedes! She knows all the delicious foods to support you in your healing and breastmilk production. I can personally attest that her lactation cookies are delicious! Mercedes also went above and beyond during all of her shifts. She cares for all her moms and babies, and you feel that she is just an extension of your family. I can go on and on about Gabrielle and Mercedes. Because of them, my husband and I were able to enjoy this postpartum period, and I will be forever grateful for everything that they have done.

I never had any issues with the midwives, was making my payments on time then I started to fall behind. Mind you, I am a single mother paying out of pocket. When the lady at the front desk addresses me about making my payment I told her the system would not let me use my bank account and only my credit card. I did not want to use my credit card but I ended up having to anyways. Once I was a little caught up on payments and owed about 2100$ the owner Alisa sent me a very passive aggressive email about being in breach of my contract and that if I did not pay they would not be able to have my baby with them. I was upset because she did NOT ask me how I was doing, there was NO empathy, and I didn't like the way she approached the situation. I'm also hormonal! I responded and I will attach that below and then she quickly terminated my contract saying her and the other midwives agreed I was hostile yet when I called my midwife about it she said IT WAS NOT HER DECISION and it was the DECISION of the business owner Alisa and bc she is stressed about MONEY. She insisted I apologize and ask Alisa to take me back, to look for the empathy she lacked and use that to ask if they will take me back. So I did, I wrote back, apologized, told her as a business owner myself I'm also struggling with financial issues as well, WE ARE ALL STRESSED. I have a right to express how I feel I don't feel like I was rude and I didn't mean for it to come across that way and hurt her feelings but then she comes back at me and fires me?!?! IM 37 WEEKS PREGNANT!!!!! I've paid over 2000$ with them and she's just going to fire me bc she thinks I hurt her feelings and I WAS BEING HOSTILE??!! Don't they know pregnant women are sensitive?? And then she says she "wishes me the best"?? I don't think so, seems to me she wishes for me to be stressed out. This is so crazy to me and it doesn't even matter anymore because SHES CLOSING HER CLINIC. I can't believe they would treat me this way, I'm in shock. Karma has a way of going back around and what she did to me is WRONG, but when sweet karma comes back around she will the the one crying and hurt and I hope she remembers how she treated me and my baby. They will never be taking new clients again but I hope everyone remembers the name ALISA GODFREY, you are a demon for treating me and my Unborn baby this way.

What really sets them apart from a traditional OB practice is the prenatal care I received. Each of my appointments lasted about an hour and we talked about all aspects of pregnancy, from the medical aspects to where to purchase a comfy bra. Before switching here I was lucky if my OB spent 5 minutes with me. I like that they are across the street from a hospital, for emergencies, which I didn't have.
