First it was that's not our website with a picture of their establishment right on top of the services offered. We booked a deep tissue massage for my husband. Was told over the phone it was $60. I then called back and said I would like to add your 30 min foot massage for myself for $30. She said yes come on in. We get there and everything has changed. Now his massage is $80 and I have to get a full massage with feet included for $70. Please explain this foolery. Go to a reputable SPA. Only went here because it was a last minute decision on a random Sunday. Woodhouse Spa is usually where we frequent and we will NEVER try anything ever again. So disgusted. My Go-To Spot for Incredible Massages New address . 4364…read morewest esplanade . Not in mall This place has quickly become my go-to stop for massages. Booking an appointment is super easy -- they're often available even at the last minute, which is a lifesaver when you really need it. For selfish reasons, I almost don't want to say this... but there's one masseuse in particular who's my absolute favorite. I book him often because he truly puts his whole energy into every deep-tissue massage. His work is thorough, powerful, and honestly among the best massages I've had in my 45 years. You can tell he gives it everything -- so much so that he looks exhausted afterward, which says a lot about how hard he works to help you feel better. Add to that the fair pricing and the clean, welcoming facility, and it's just an easy 5-star experience every time. Highly recommend -- just don't take my time slot!

Please note that I had a car accident two years ago and it messed up my back. So in addition to physical therapy, Ty's monthly massages helped rehabilitate my back. The owners of the Bodhisattva Tea Spa, Jerome and Yolanda are so welcoming and friendly! I posted pictures of the spa after taking a personal tour with Yolanda. It looks like I've found my spa joint! I had an hour long massage with Ty and it was wonderful as usual! The room is nice and dark with a comfortable temperature. I enjoy the soothing music. The spa is upstairs and located right across from lakeside mall next to the Capital One. The tea spa has an array of loose teas to choose from and they have beautiful tea sets as well. I'm impressed that they have the mortar and pestle to grind your teas. They had a tea ceremony a few weeks back. There are multiple rooms in the tea spa. There is an aesthetician room which helps when I need my brows and lip waxed! They also have a room with a dry sauna. In addition, they have a multi-purpose room where they have yoga classes with a suggested donation from $5-10. They also have tai chi classes and do energy work. They also have hot teas brewed and ready to go.

I had no idea there were so many different varieties of teas! I'm thrilled to go in and sample some of these exotics flavors. Plus they're always happy to brew a cup for you to try. They love converting a person to a tea lover! This weekend, I had the pleasure of using their spa services. Firstly, I have been following their Facebook page for a while. Occasionally, they'll have these contests for their followers. Last month, they held a contest for a free Pinda Swedana session, and I won!! In case, you don't know what that is, "Pinda Swedana is a process by which the whole body is made to perspire. This is done by applying hot boluses containing various types of fresh plants and other herbal ingredients gently all over the body for 45 minutes. It is a swedana (fomentation) therapy commonly used for pain relief and reducing inflammation." I had also bought a Groupon several weeks ago so called them to make both appointments. Yolanda was very pleasant and friendly with my schedulings. She was still that way when I had to reschedule! (Seriously, love these people.) And she ended up being my Pinda Swedana masseuse/applier. It was an 30 min session where you lay on a table while she rubs these herb-infused bags around your body. I loved it and thought it was very soothing. I could feel it circulating my juices and definitely felt like a new person when she was done. Plus all the smells were so nice, I was tempted to grab the bundles to taste the fresh rosemary, cloves and other ingredients she had in there. Yolanda said everything was food-grade and was a good primer for my massage. I agreed and impatiently waited for that session to begin. (She suggested scheduling it for a different day to allow my body to adjust to the Pina Swedana treatment. The next day, I was happy I took her advice.) Sunday finally arrived, and my body couldn't be happier. It was aching from head to toe. So I sank into the comfy table to do my 90 min. massage. The masseuse was AMAZING!! She really took the time to find out where my aches were pooled and focused on those specific areas. She was on my shoulders for a good 30 mins. when the aches moved down my body and settled into my mid-back. She rubbed and stretched that section out for a good 40 mins when the pain shifted lower. All the while, I was feeling the blood rushing back into those cramped super tight muscles. When she was finally done with me, I felt so drained but relaxed. It was obvious my body really needed it. Immediately I felt the effects of keeping all that trapped toxins in my body. It kicked into detox mode, and I promised myself I would never let it get that bad again. And with Bodhisattva Tea Spa around the corner from work, I will never have to again. So what are you waiting for? Go now! Your body will thank you. Mine does!

I arranged for two massage therapists from Balance Massage to provide chair massages at a health fair. For starters, Balance Massage has a very professional website with helpful information, including a list of local clients that includes Whole Foods, Tulane University, and Harrah's Casino. All Balance Massage therapists are nationally certified. Joe (I think he is the owner) was very helpful and friendly during the reservation process and answered all of my questions. The day of the event, the massage therapists showed up on time with their equipment in tow. All I needed to do was give them a little bit of space to set up in. The massage therapists were friendly, sanitized their hands and chairs between clients, and provided skilled, relaxing massages. It was a lot harder than you might think to find professional, organized, and affordable massage therapists to provide chair massages at an event. I endured many bizarre phone calls before I found Balance Massage. I definitely called a lot of 'happy ending' type places from my cubicle, much to my coworkers' entertainment.
