She said "well, it's the policy," so I told her to cancel all further appointments and f*ck right off. If you can't bend your policy when a client is not at fault, then you're not running a very compassionate business. I would feel differently if I canceled appointments on a regular basis, but I have literally never done so before. This is not a good way to retain clients.

I went to her to feel safe and to address my health needs, but she was condescending, pushed several supplements, and came across as power and fame hungry. I felt that our dynamic was very inappropriate... dare I say groomed. She even claimed that my food allergies weren't "really" allergies and she could cure them. I am sure she has the right credentials (though I'd double check), but she lacks empathy and is exceptionally entitled. She would provide moments of kindness and then prey on me and others. I felt taken advantage of, and I do not want anyone else to be exposed to her very disrespectful practices but I know I'm not alone. And she was so aggressive with her communication style that it was borderline, scary. Do not just take my word for it; she has done this to others. Just read the other reviews. It is cult-like behavior if you remain around her long enough. Please go elsewhere.

I saw Dr Karuna for a very awkward appointment…read more In her office, she had me sit on a high medical table while she sat across the room on a low chair. The room was dim and she had more or less a spotlight on me. I felt very self conscious. I was fully clothed of course but this spotlight situation is pretty much how the whole appointment went for 2 hours... I came in with a very complex case history and a myriad of very severe and urgent medical problems. She told me that I was "just in time for her spring cleanse." I was wondering, how could my symptoms be just in time for your sale? This is one thing that turned me off to her practice. Ultimately she sent me away that day with pink Himalayan salt... when I was experiencing severe neurological blackouts.... The next thing is that her office assistant would not stop calling me after the first appointment. It was bordering on harassment. She said that Dr Karuna urgently needed to speak with me. When I asked what for, she said just come in for an appt. Well, the next appt was around $500... I said, if she urgently wants to speak with me, she's welcome to get on the phone with me. But, she never did. I never returned. One good thing I can say about Dr Karuna is that she told me to always believe in myself and my symptoms and never let a doctor tell me my symptoms were all in my head. It was an empowering talk. In any event, it turns out I have Lyme disease which she didn't bring up, mention or question in the entire 2 hours. One more dr who should have guessed it but didn't in the long list of doctors who missed my diagnosis, leading to late stage. Wish I could get my $ back from this practice to spend on treatments that would help my actual disease, but that would be like getting blood from a stone.
