I went to Selena because I have been trying, for several years, to get pregnant. Even with the help of fertility treatments, it still wasn't happening. The doctors called it on "explained infertility." Meaning there was no clear medical reason why it wasn't happening. I bought a 12 pack of sessions and by the 11th session I was pregnant! Does it get better than that! It will change the way you think about life and be a useful tool to help make all your dreams come true. I highly recommend Selena and Empowered Hypnosis. (Even though I bought a 12 pack from Selena I could use the sessions with any therapist. Caterina, who is also Reiki healer, did two of my sessions. She was wonderful and exactly the energy I needed the day before my transfer.)

I came in feeling completely drained--physically and emotionally. I had chronic back and neck pain from long hours at work, plus a lot of stress that was affecting my sleep. Dr. Hu listened carefully, explained everything clearly, and built a custom treatment plan just for me. I've now had several sessions that included acupuncture, cupping therapy, and therapeutic massage--and I can honestly say I feel like a new person. The acupuncture helped ease my pain and tension, while the cupping left me feeling lighter and more open. The massage work was so healing--gentle but deeply effective. One of the best parts? They accept insurance, which made it easy and affordable for me to commit to regular sessions. The clinic is clean, calming, and the entire staff is kind, professional, and really cares about your well-being.

I started acupuncture in April of 2025 with Tabitha because of lower back pain that turned into…read moresciatica. I had SERIOUS issues. My entire body was tense... I mean, VERY TENSE. I was in pain 24/7. Now, 18 sessions and 4 months later, I feel like things are really looking up. I'm feeling hopeful. Tabitha is a patient, sensitive, and skillful acupuncturist. She gets to work right away and does a little check-in verbally and by feeling out your body when you arrive. She has a magical touch, and I most look forward to the brief end of session massages that she gives (they are incredible). Even though some sessions are painful due to what she is having to treat, I feel as though they're helping me towards living pain-free (or with minimal pain). Not only that, she is helpful in other areas -- when I was having intense bloating and GI issues, she provided a chinese herbal regiment that helped so much. She gives me recommendations for other kinds of practices like deep tissue massages and rolling out my feet. Everything she says, I listen to, because Tabitha is always right. I can get really skittish about continuing practices but I find myself craving acupuncture with Tabitha... and another testament to how much I value these services: I pay for them out of pocket even though I could see other acupuncturists in-network! In short, I owe so much to Tabitha. Body Mechanics has been my once to twice-weekly "treat"; I so enjoy that time that my body has needed/wanted for so long ... by someone who knows what they're doing!!

This place specializes in acupuncture for fertility, which is why I was going here. I have two…read moremajor complaints that caused me to STOP going here: 1. Andrea, one of the 3 acupuncturists on staff, is a raging b*tch who thinks that "tough love" involves berating a woman who is depressed and on loads of hormones. That's not the kind of bedside manner I want from any kind of medical professional. 2. The owner, Christina, is also a b*tch but for a different reason. Today I had to cancel my appointment on short notice because the E, F, & R lines are screwed up and I literally had NO WAY of getting to the office. Well, the receptionist "helpfully" suggested I try to take the LIRR to Grand Central and then transfer to the 4/5 train. She said "well, it's the policy," so I told her to cancel all further appointments and f*ck right off. If you can't bend your policy when a client is not at fault, then you're not running a very compassionate business. I would feel differently if I canceled appointments on a regular basis, but I have literally never done so before. This is not a good way to retain clients.

Christina's knowledge and expertise is impressive. Yet she is so easy going and mellow that she made me feel at ease immediately, which was absolutely essential for me as I was going through the most stressful time in my life. It has not been an easy path that we've been on, and working with Geneseed has helped tremendously to help alleviate the anxiety that comes with dealing with complex medical treatments. Her abilities to evaluate, treat and recommend are phenomenal, not to mention her willingness to be flexible in doing her best to accommodate someone with an insane schedule and all sorts of caveats! I would strongly recommend Christina and Geneseed to anyone who is looking to supplement their standard treatment with alternative methods in an effort to maximize your chances for a positive outcome.

Hormonal Acne: For the last 5 years I've been dealing with…read morepretty much constant normal acne breakouts. I've had acne throughout my 20s but when I moved to New York at 25 - things got much worse. I had never been on birth control and was trying to avoid it- but out of desperation 1.5 years ago I started the pill. It took sometime to see any effects (about 4 months) and my skin did improve slightly - but not significantly. I was still have regular breakouts and really unhappy with my skin. In early January 2018 - I went back to the Derm and he suggested a permanent oral antibiotic - in addition to the pill. In fact I would have to stay on the pill because in the event I did get pregnant the medication could affect the baby. After much thought, I chose not to do the medication - but was back at a loss of what to do about the acne. It was during this time that I randomly think about acupuncture. I did research and found Dr Alban. He has been so so wonderful. I felt for the first time that a doctor was treating my whole body. I am able to happily report that my skin is now clear. I have been going once a week since January. He started me immediately on herbs that I take twice a day. I also do cupping. Highly recommend the herbs - it has been key to my skin clearing up I believe. My skin within about 6 weeks started to clear up significantly. Within 5 months - my skin was basically at a 9.5/10 - the occasional white head but NOTHING compared to how it had been before. I have since gone off birth control and my skin has maintained! I'm now happily off birth control with the clearest skin I've had in 10 years. Dr Alban and his office staff have been superb. I go weekly and it's alway a very pleasant experience. They are accommodating to my work schedule and kind and welcoming when I come in. In addition to acne - when I sprained my ankle he helped treat that along with some shoulder pain I've experienced. I'm a believer - if you are considering acupuncture- please do it. It's worth it and in my experience - it works. I highly recommend Dr Alban! It's been a life changing experience for me going to him.
