He truly transformed it from a backyard the family barely spends time in into a beautiful space we now love. The whole process, from estimate to completion, was easy and seamless. After we got in touch with him, he came out and gave us a free estimate. We told him what we wanted and then he gave us his ideas. Once the ideas were solidified, he got right to work. It gets really hot during the summer months in our area. Chu built a roof extension from the house and added two hanging fans and lights. Now, we don't have to worry about burning our feet on the cement or being hit by the intense sun rays. The roof provides a lot of shade and even helps the inside of the house stay cool. This project really elevated our space, and we love it. We have received so many compliments from friends and family. Highly recommend Tran's Landscaping!

Their quote was reasonable and within our budget, so we asked how soon they could come do the work (lawn-mowing, weed-whacking, and hedge-trimming). We will be sure to hire them again!

Mike from MBR was contacted initially to seal my grout and after they started the work, he found…read morethat there was existing issues with the previous installation. He asked if I wanted him to look further and I said "yes" There ended up being a catastrophic amount of damage from an incorrectly installed roof that I got last summer which had resulted in a majority of the master bathroom having extensive water damage. Mike agreed to help me with getting everything fixed, essentially kick-starting his solo efforts as a general contractor and got his appropriate licensing and bonding to work as such in an individual capacity. He performed emergency coverage tasks on the roof during extreme weather to attenuate ongoing damage and ended up needing to gut and replace the entire master bathroom. Mike organized and subcontracted to experts for each specialized task including plumbing (all of the old plumbing in the walls was done incorrectly and would not last longterm) and large-scale tiling (Mike's father is a master tiler and it absolutely shows in the amazing work), always keeping me aware of any changes to the ongoing bill. While the task did end up being more than the initial grout cleaning, the full rebuild of my master bathroom was a significantly better value than other quotes I heard. The quality is masterwork and my wife loves it, and isn't THAT what really matters? It took several months to complete the job, due to always finding something else that the previous builders had done wrong or not at all; but now I have a master bathroom that I will not ever need to worry about. I will be hiring Mike again for my contracting needs.

The attention to detail, hauling of the debris from the work, the thoroughness of their two-day labors are being enjoyed by our family every minute of the day that's passed. For the first time, we had landscapers that cared about the environment and the look and feel of our yard. They pruned our maples, which no other landscapers has done before, and made suggestions for beautifying our yard with the shrubs, plants, bushes and trees already there. They were amazing, extremely hardworking and so friendly. We will certainly have them back. Thank you!

I asked for a parking spot in the front of my lawn and what I got was a bunch of gravel on uneven…read moreground that is functionally useless and looks cheap. What I understood was that he was going to dig it out and grade it, but he said that wasn't true. Had I known that was all he was going to do I would have never agreed to pay $1045 for a 7x32 gravelly, lumpy strip. Regardless, I was willing to pay for the work done, but when I pointed out that he lied about the price of materials, disposal fees, and hours worked, he still refused to adjust the price and threatened to take me to collections, so I paid him. He also refused to provide an itemized receipt. Also, he "conveniently" left out tax in the price of the estimate, so if you do decide to use him, make sure you add 10% to whatever price he quotes. Also, this thing he did, if he thought this was truly what I wanted (a non functional gravel strip) I would hope that a professional landscaper would advise me against it. Maybe say, "Hey, if you want to do it right you'll have to terrace this, grade this, etc. and that'll cost this." Instead, he found his mark (me) and found an easy payday. Afterwards I asked him, do you think this looks good? Does that look like a parking spot to you? Would you put your name on this? He pointedly did not answer those questions. Because the answer to all three of those questions is no. If you want more details, like the the screenshot of his work truck leaving at 10am but he telling me he was working until 11am, check out my text conversation with him. But again, if you do decide to use him, get it in writing, detailed, itemized, and tax included.

I am so thrilled to have found Sam and QPC for our renovation needs. There was a whole list of…read moreimprovements I had in mind, and he made them all happen on a faster timeline and on a much lower budget than any other estimates I received. We completely gutted the den, evened the floors, put in radiant floor heating, sealed off the small door to the patio and put in sliding glass doors, and completely reconfigured the laundry/half bath/water heater space! And, very importantly, he did an absolutely gorgeous job. His company is smaller, which means less overhead and, in my experience, very client-focused and driven to excellence. From the beginning Sam was very communicative and throughout the process was available to talk through any questions/ideas/concerns I had. In the end, he stuck close to his initial estimates (the few additional costs had been flagged and discussed with and agreed upon by me before they were incurred), and completed the work well within the initial timeframe. I definitely recommend Sam/QPC for your next home renovation project!

He set up an appointment to meet with us right away and sent over a very professional, detailed quote the same day. He got us on his schedule quickly and completed the job to absolute perfection. Five years ago we had carpet installed and were left with an annoying gap between the carpet and the baseboard. It drove me crazy! Carl not only handled the installation beautifully, but he also made sure the new padding was thick enough to eliminate that gap entirely. A problem that bothered me for five years - gone in one day thanks to Carl. Fast, professional, detail-oriented, and genuinely thoughtful. We couldn't recommend him more!

We will not be working with Better Call Carl again. Last November, we hired him to perform a…read more"bathroom refresh". Hooked us in with a great price and great initial communication. On the first day on the renovation, we went through all the details of changes we wanted to make with his team. Somehow, these details never came to fruition. They did a great job with the drywall, painting, and tub installation - however, their tile work in the shower is subpar (the tiles were placed crooked and we had to go in to regrout ourselves). We previously had plumbing work done, so the cabinetry underneath the vanity had to be replaced. Better Call Carl figured the best way to do this was to just patchwork plywood (we went back ourselves to fix). He also didn't see the need for continuous baseboards (see photo). The biggest problem we have is with the floors - we also had terrazzo floor tiles placed and confirmed with the team prior to starting that there were enough tiles to complete the project. The floor is not up to industry standard nor ADA requirements. The grout lines are all different sizes and the actual tiles are not level, resulting in a trip hazard. There are also tiles that have been chipped both during and after installation. We reached out to Better Call Carl after work was complete to see if he could replace the floor - he was reluctant to come back, but he did end up replacing two tiles (out of 21). Even after the second round, the floor is a little more level, but nowhere near the standard or expectation. There are still chipped tiles, uneven grout lines, and tiles that are not level. We will be buying new tiles and having the floor redone, so we asked for a partial refund (for just the work on the floor), which was denied. We then tried to see if there was any other resolution we could agree on since Better Call Carl claims he has a one-year warranty. He refused to uphold his warranty. We'll be going with another professional from here on and would not recommend Better Call Carl to anyone.
