Found this restaurant while exploring Brussels walking down on chaussée Mons…read more The place offers Lebanese/Syrian food from kafta, shish taouk, lamb cubes on skewers, all grilled on charcoal, to regular mezza like kibbe, sfiha, hummus, baba ghannouj, tabboulé and other traditional dishes. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. We ordered the mixed grill plate that came with toum (garlic delicious sauce), regular and spicy Lebanese bread, kafta, shish taouk and lamb cubes grilled skewers along with grilled tomatoes and onions. We also ordered basmati rice. As for starters and mezza, we ordered hummus, tabboulé, fried kibbe. This was more than a enough for a party of four. The staff was very friendly and the manager was very attentive and answered all our questions. Service was very quick eve though the place was almost full. Mezza (starters) came first after we placed our order followed by the main order soon after.

A proper coal oven with thin crusted pizza (the way it is supposed to be!) and even, buffalo mozzarella. No ridiculous toppings (pineapple is blasphemy) and not too much tomato sauce. This little bear found something "just right". I am not a fan of all of their combinations (pesto on pizza is weird to me), but you cant go wrong with the regina with tomato sauce.

Usually you wait long even for your drinks because they don't have many waiters. Friendly staff that speaks mainly italian but understands Dutch. The oven is inside the front part of the restaurant so in the summer you can't seat there because it's so warm and in the winter you go home smelling like you were in the kitchen. They have a bigger sitting area at the back of the restaurant, ideal for groups and big families. Good for a casual dinner 'at the italian' but they have a lot to improve yet.
