The lighting is very odd. Can't get use to that, but it's bearable for the short term. But the sound space I can't bear. It's not 'organic' at all. Silence would be IDEAL, like at Costco where thus I prefer to shop. Here, music constantly blares into your ears & head as you try to focus on shopping. Makes me want to spend as little time as possible there. I went once last week, and don't ever want to return. Plus, call me different, but I don't want food that's been subject to weeks of music that doesn't suit; I suspect it can subtly change the food's makeup to affect you psychically. So, foods with a low-turnover rate that sit around there for long, no thanks. On the plus side, they do have a large variety of good food. read more

This store is the worst. They have a sign saying that a product is on sale; however, when you get to the cash register, they charge you the full price. When I talked to the manager, she wasn't even apologetic about it, and just told me that the sale ended yesterday, but the sign was still there at 7:00 pm the next day, and nobody bothered to remove it. They don't honour the price that is there, they just tell you that the sale has ended and you have to pay the full price, no matter what the sign says. This scam has happened multiple times. They keep the sale signs on products so that people will buy them, in hopes that nobody will bother to come back and complain. I gave this store many chances, however, I will not be coming back. Besides, Whole Foods has better prices and deals, believe me! read more

The store itself is fairly run down, with a hodgepodge of different displays and a weird layout, but they have a good selection of organic and natural products, and their prices are fair. Hello. I have been shopping at Organic Garage for years. I was sad to see that they got rid of the meat department and butchers. They will now be selling pre packaged meat in coolers. The meat department was good. Fresh meat and a great staff/butchers working the counter. I can't believe that they would stoop to this. No more fresh meat or cooked Chickens. Cutting employees and cutting customer service for packaged meat. Shame on you Organic Garage. Just another grocery store with no human values. Less service. read more

Can't say enough good things about them - excellent selection & fair pricing with weekly specials that make the trip that much more worth it. I've also been to their newest location up in Thornhill and its even bigger and closer to where we live! Kudos to them for keeping up their high standards for such a long time! The owner acts like a politician making his own rules who can shop there or not. I felt so discriminated like I've never been before. I came there just because I used their online service once and I thought it could be a good shop that suits my needs and fits my lifestyle but now I know I will never spend a cent in this "phony-organic, apparently-nature-friendly store! I was in the middle of shopping, I've already had 7 products in my reusable bag which was probably 60-70% of the products I wanted to buy. Unfortunately, I was asked by the staff to leave because I had only a scarf, approved as a face covering by government Ontario but not by the owner... I was asked if I have a mask or a face shield. I was so shocked that I look at the girl who asked me about it and then just told her no (I don't approve face shield at all, it's just an extra plastic waste to the world that doesn't change anything anyway, even government doesn't list them as approved face coverings. Anyway, I asked her if I can just buy what I already have in my bag and she declined. I put nicely everything on the shelf because she said it's not her, it's the owner. All I can do it's just post here making sure people know this owner of Oakville Organic Garage is discriminating people who follow the rules. What if next time he/she says people of certain ethnicities can't shop there but they can only use online service as they're apparently bigger danger of spreading the virus, we just have a stricter policy here... I can't believe this intolerance is keep happening, especially in the organic shop that supposed to be Earth-and-people-friendly. I read the history of this shop and it started from Polish ancestors and I feel so embarrassed being Polish and seeing another unfair situation of classifying people... I should mention also that I work at the store as well, and I wear this mask that gives me macne all the time, but I do it and I respect all the clients whatever they cover their face with, and those with no coverings when exempt. If somebody comes to our store with no mask and asks for a mask, the mask is always offered, at Organic Garage I wasn't even offered a mask... It's a poor customer service, and even if they have different policies than government Ontario I don't understand why they don't have a "guard" at the entrance who select the people who can enter. I was really shocked and offended that I was asked to leave in the middle of the shopping, such a waste of time, such a disappointment. read more

I think the idea behind organic garage is good, but I just can't get over the prices. I stopped in because i was in need of something quick and ready to eat (and gluten free). They didn't really have anything except for vegan sushi and a vegan Caesar salad. I paid $20 for those two items. The vegan sushi was disgusting. It was mostly just carrots with a tiny amount of cucumber and some unidentifiable brown seed. I ate two and gave it away. The Caesar salad was okay. It had coconut pieces with some sort of spice that were supposed to be like croutons and the dressing was obv not creamy. It was basically a bowl of shredded kale with coconut for a ridiculously high price. Would never buy that again either. I have bought packaged foods here that I haven't been able to find elsewhere - gluten free butter tarts, fig bars, mini hand pies - they've all been good (hence the three stars) but everything is crazy expensive and not really worth the jacked up price. read more

Decent alternative to pricey Whole Foods. They sell most of the same items save for Whole Foods in house brand. Prices are much more reasonable and better than Loblaws. Selection is very good although they can remain out of items for weeks at a time--Fevertree Lemon tonic hasn't been stocked in over a year!--tsk! tsk! I know it's available because Whole Foods has it on their shelves. Other than my tonic water whine it's an absolutely fantastic place to shop. Organic produce is well priced. Never tried the butcher counter so cannot comment on meat quality. Not as esthetically pleasing as other supermarkets but then your not paying the overhead for the bells and whistles. Terrible place to work. Worked in the Meat Dept ( I have over 30 yrs experience)...lasted 1 and half days..thats right..1 and half days "Rock" the Meat manager...is 1 of those guys that's got you doing something 1 way on 1 day ..then different the next...Typical A&P Man just to let you know..the ground beef is NOT MADE FRESH EVERY DAY...they do whole pile of it and keep it in the back cooler till they need it Just my 2 cents worth read more

I was here today and have to tell I am not amazed with the produce:((( A lot of produce was rotten and not fresh,kale was just ready for composting it!I don't know why it was still up for sale .Broccoli...the same thing...and it was covered with some ice...trying to revive it or something?Mehhh ...I don't know. The store is small-medium sized and fully stocked, I never have an issue finding what I need on a regular basis. I'm getting really tired of bottom shelf produce. Fruit and veggies that have mold and rot. This stuff shouldn't be on the shelves, but there it is week after week. My husband only allows me to shop at organic stores once ever couple months because the costs are so incredibly high. I was very excited to try this store out, we had to drive pretty far to go but soOoo disappointed in this store from the second I walked in until I left. Even though I had two small children with me and I was confused when I couldn't find a cart. Three girls talking at cash, hard to get their attention, then told me I had to go back out of the store to the MIDDLE of the parking lot to get a cart myself. Are you freaking kidding me! The kids were super disappointed when their were no carts their size. Prices were hideously high. We purchased some sauce that had already expired last year. All staff AND customers appeared rude. The isles were tight, consistently accidental bumping into people when you bend down to read ingredients. I was shocked to see people buying their weeks worth of groceries there. I will definitely stick to Planet Organic or Healthy Planet. read more
