I love a cute book store - bonus points if they have a unique selection and older books as well !! This shop is just off the Main Street but worth stopping at. They have an amazingly curated selection and everything from recent publications to kids books to New Mexico specific books. They also have some great deals (with books in boxes under the tables being discounted) read more

Organic Books - Used Bookstore Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I have walked by and driven by this precious bookstore so many times. On my Sunday stroll with my boyfriend, we decided to come in. It is a very cute and cozy store. There is a floral mural on the back wall of the bookstore that really bring your eyes up to the ceiling. The place is so artfully decorated it is a pleasure to be in the store. Although I didn't have any questions or need any help, the lady at the counter helped a patrons while I was there. She helped them find exactly what they were looking for! If you are looking for a bargain, they have some $1 bins under the tables in the middle of the store. The cutest bookstore, I must recommend a stop by for a little browse. A little something here for everyone! read more

Grumpy staff, a male with testosterone poisoning. If one asks too many questions or cancels a book order, he gets ticked; furthermore, they control the reviews on their home site so they edit what people say to look good. If the father is there, go in . Otherwise, take care. One employee went rabid on me . I have never had that happen at bookstore in my whole life, and I am old and gay . Tourists love this place ; locals have had issues . It depends on the employees moods. I will never shop here again after a bad experience and am donating my book credits to them taking customer service classes . They are the boss so I doubt that will happen . If I treated my customers the way they do, I'd be broke . They are right no matter what so if you like that kind of treatment enjoy supporting this business. read more

If you are shopping here and you are an older woman and queer, don't start a casual conversation with other shoppers or ask Seth to do anything beyond his capacities. I am donating my store credit to him for taking anger management classes. He turned rabid the other day, attacking me and having no sense of decorum. His father is kind, so maybe wait until he's there to do business. Furthermore, he rarely has the books I need, they are expensive, and Seth seems exasperated by helping people beyond the bare minimum. Why support businesses run by a mean "man"? From now on, I'll drive to the North Valley and go to Bookworks. If you are male or not a "BOOMER whom lead has destroyed [their]brain cells, " a direct quote from Seth, shop here. Seth, I have a few graduate degrees from UNM ( 3 time Lobo) and was trying to support local businesses. Where I work, the customer is right and if I treated people the way you do, I would be broke. read more

This is a GORGEOUS family owned used bookstore in Nob Hill. It is owned by writers and caters to readers! They have everything from cookbooks to the latest fiction and, of course, local authors! This is the indie bookstore Albuquerque has been waiting for! Kelly is one of the owners and she is simply phenomenal. I can't even tell you how much I love this place and how excited I am to have them here! The prices are so good and my days of Amazon buying are over! This is my new favorite place to be in all of Albuquerque! If you are a reader, this is a must stop! Seriously! Until you check it out for yourself, you won't understand the magic! I found this little bookstore while I was parking to eat nearby. I went in to explore and I felt like a kid in a candy store. They have so many genres of books. Looks of newer bestsellers. They also have the books that have been made into different television series prominently displayed in case you like to read the book first or last. I let the gentleman at the register know I have a book club andI would post their information so the members could support local businesses. He was super sweet and encouraged me to take stickers and a bookmark. I left with just three books. One was a cute Spanish/English crossword book which I figured would be perfect to help practice my Spanish. read more

Organic Books - Checkout counter - Used Bookstore Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Very nice neighborhjod bookstore in a very convenient location. In terns of stocking their shelves, and knowing what's goinv wih current bioks in print, they're outstanding. They're also very effucient and friendly ordering bookd they currently don't have on their shelves. They're vrry heloful with book ordering in person, over the phone, or by text. However, their behavior, conduct and demsanor st the front desk is uneven and unpredictable. Thus ranges from truly warm and welcoming to offputting. A neighnor told me this morning that they were so rude on first visit that he never went back. I used to live in another city, where the bookstore in my neighborhood was a true community builder. I often had super cool conversations with staff over a period of several years. They've even contacted me since i moved to let me know that they missed me. Sweet. They would also promote local writers, and help promote and stimulate local community events. Organic Books -- seems like they might be confused about the extent to which they wish to serve a similar community role. As a relative newcomer to Albuquerque, I sense that morale is a little bit low these days. Activiste have told me that about 8 years ago, it was as if the air went out. Might have something to do with the Great Recession. No one here seems to know. A bookstore can play a very special role in helping to revitalize a city's sense of vision and purpose. I wish Organic Books every success fot now and in the future. read more

Absolutely remarkable bookstore. I've never lived within walking distance of a bookstore this great. Wonderful staff bubbling with recommendations and an excellent, well-curated selection of books - and those are really my only two criteria for a perfect bookshop. Bonus points if it's both attractive and organized which Organic Books is. Very generous trade-in prices if books are in good condition and sellable - and the store's selectiveness shows on the shelves. No crappy titles, no beat-up paperbacks. Looking forward to being a regular here. read more

Small space but good selection of new books. Their classic section was a bit limited but I still found something to buy. Owner is very friendly. read more

Cute independent bookstore that has such a welcoming and relaxed vibe. I really loved the atmosphere here. They have a good mix of books and it was fun to browse around. I will definitely be back. read more

Great selection for a small indie bookshop. Wish their tables were more clearly organized because as a first time visitor it all felt jumbled. Wish this was my neighborhood bookstore. read more

I ordered a book online and discovered when it arrived that: 1. it was damaged, and 2. the price was significantly higher than the list price on the book. I was gifting the book to a friend and did not have time to send it back, but I did contact the store for a partial refund to reflect both the pricing and the damage. My contact was answered with a total refusal. This is another example of the "small business trap" of gaining a sale and losing a customer. Definitely, do not buy online from this vendor, as they will dump damaged items at inflated prices on you. read more

A nice little bookstore in the Nob Hill area that seems to have a large variety in books for such a small space! The majority of the books are used, although they do have some new books as well. We didn't have much time to browse here, but I would like to come back another time to look around a little more. The staff were very friendly and they had a dog in the store the afternoon we were there! He was very sweet as well. I always love finding local bookstores like this one so I will definitely be back. read more

A reader's (and writer's) little slice of paradise. Thoughtfully organized shelves carry both used and new books, though Organic feels more like a new bookstore (no mustiness, no disorganization). Browsing the shelves is like being in a well and widely-read friend's home - only larger. The well-curated sections cover just about everything - in non-fiction there's history, science, writing technique, and a clever catch-all section called "beliefs" among others (I am forgetting some). Then there are cookbooks, humor, local authors, poetry, sci-fi, mystery, kids (and "tall kids") sections in the middle of the store, bracketed by a wall of fiction. I get the feeling here that every book is on the shelf for a reason, vetted by the owners (a family of writers and editors). A terrific place to browse, the vibe at Organic is decidedly fresh. read more

There we so many books I could have stayed for days, local selection and historical too. Very nice staff

As a long time lover of books and a prowler of bookstores I am glad Organic Books has set up shop in a central location. This is a classic used bookstore with organized shelves, great selection and prices to match. There is also lots of new writing by local authors and the store supports local authors with book signings and events. The owners are friendly and have created a nice oasis in Nob Hill for all of us book lovers to enjoy. What a glorious breath of fresh air this store is! read more

I called Organic Books several times today. No one answered the phone. I was asked to leave a message. Then I was told by the answering system that I couldn't leave a message because the voicemailbox is full. Oh my goodness. I'm in love. Family-owned, thoughtfully organized bookstore in a cute part of town. Instead of a psychology section, they had a handful of shelves labeled "Brain" and I was able to scoop some gems. Really precious. Support local bookstores! read more

This book store is pretty good. There was a very friendly dog to greet me as I came in, and the place smelled like tea. The man at the front desk was nice, so nothing to complain about so far. The problem was that their children's book section was tiny! At least most of the books were about Apollo and Zeus and all of those things. I like mystery books, but all I could find were Rick Riordan. If you're in to that kinda stuff, this is the place. But otherwise, you might not find what you're looking for. read more

I'm so thankful Organic Books opened in Nob Hill. I appreciate local/neighborhood bookstores and I really enjoy the "vibe" of this one. My family and I have purchased quite a few books from them in the last few months. It is a small space, but I feel like I can find a great book every time I go in (and we do!). I also appreciate the "local authors" table. Please, please pop in and support local merchants (almost all books are used, but there are new books, too) read more

Loved this book store in the Nob Hill area. Picked up some great new and used books. The used books were very affordable. Got a new release children's book by Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor. The owner was lovely. You need to drop by and support this local merchant. We need good book stores. I love finding used books so they can be enjoyed again. read more

Beautiful little shop with an amazing selection of books, and really friendly staff. There is a really wide range of sections, from fantasy, to politics, to science, to children's, etc., and you can tell everything was thoughtfully curated.
