Will never -- EVER -- step foot in this place again. Will also be telling my many friends to steer clear. My husband and I (and our 2 darling children) were treated like 2nd class citizens here. We will happily be spending our large frame allowances elsewhere. The front desk person (the Dr.'s wife?) was extremely rude and uncomfortable with us being in the store. My husband had been there earlier that week to try on frames and wanted to show me the 4 frames he was considering for purchase. I was excited that he found that many styles he liked! Immediately upon walking in we were glared at (children perhaps?) "I can't help you right now" said the front desk person . "That's ok. I just want to show my wife the frames I liked." said my husband. "Sigh...." said front desk person while trudging over to show us the frames. 2 well-behaved k ids proceeded to sit and be silent. Front desk person gets very nervous and says: "This is REALLY not a good time. I just let a girl go home." (And that should be our problem becauuuusssse...) "We don't really need your help...just looking." says my husband. Front desk REALLY looks nervous, puts her hands out defensively and says: "No...I can't help you." I offer up: "Let's go. It's obviously NOT a good time." I won't even go into what happened when my husband decided to go back in and talk to Dr. Stacy about the poor customer service. Wouldn't YOU want to know if one of your employees treated people in the manner I've described? Apparently not, because the police were called. Yup. In this day of people having MANY options for where to spend their eye care $$$, I can't imagine spending my $$$ here. Take our advice (and it appears the advice of several other Yelpers) and head to LensCrafters just down the way. They know the meaning of customer service. That is all. read more

It was one of those days where I was ready to spend some money on a new pair if shades. I had left my sunglasses at home that morning and I was ready for my 16th pair... Yeah, I know... Issues right! My mind was made up to go to a specific place knowing they carried the Dragon brand I wanted. I was excited! My pregnant wife and I walked into Mr. Stacy's store and noticed the staff was busy with customers, rather than interrupting we attempted to approach the "retail area". We were stopped by what seemed to be the receptionist who was assisting another customer with "How can I help you?" I responded with "We would like to look at your sunglasses." The gentleman behind the counter helping the costumer said sternly "Just one minute and I will help you." I thought to myself, they either do not trust customers or this guy is very controlling. I did not know what to think. My wife turned to look at me as though we were rudely disrespected and asked, "Do you want to leave." My intent was to buy Dragon sunglasses today and I was not going to let this guy deter me from my desire for new sun wear. I responded to my wife with "No, let's look at the sunglasses and check this place out. If that is the service this place offers they must loose a lot of business." As we stood there for 3-4 minutes I made my decision. There was no way I was going to give my business to this establishment. The gentleman behind the counter finished with the customer and walked with us to the retail space. He asked; what I was looking for, and whether or not I needed prescription. I explained, I was looking for Dragon Sunglasses and no prescription needed. He stated they have Dragon (which I already knew) and grabbed a pair to hand to me. At this moment I was confused, he clearly did not trust me, and the disrespect was overwhelming. I had seen 6 pair of Dragon sunglasses and wondered if he was going to let me try them all or just the few he wanted. After all he was the expert in what I should be wearing based in his comment of "This is the best selling frame and fit's a prescription." I handed the pair he handed me and asked if I may try them all on, he stepped back from me and said sure. As I tried them on he began locking the display of regular Dragon eyewear frames, he said "you do not need theses glasses right?" I responded with no and asked if this was all the Dragon sunglasses he had. He said yes and I spotted a hip pair in the cabinet he locked. I asked to see them and he unlocked the display and handed them to me, said that I can put a prescription in them. I thought to myself, did he not hear me say I don't need a prescription? I put the pair on and they needed to be adjusted, I asked if I could adjust them and he said he would rather do it, fair enough. At that moment he realized I must be in the business of eyewear (which I am), he smiled and disengaged completely. At that very moment I had had enough of the disrespect and poor service. I said "Thank you but I won't be buying from here" and began to walk out. In doing so I stopped (for whatever reason I do not know) and said, "y'know, I came in here today intending to buy new sunglasses." He rudely interrupted and said "No you didn't!" I looked at him shocked and proceeded to walk out. I could not believe what I was hearing... I was appalled, completely disrespected and had never been treated so poorly by another human being. It's important for you to know, my wife asked the rude gentleman as we walked out "Are you the doctor here?" He proudly said "yes." Walking behind us as if he had just kicked us out. We ordered our son's glasses 5 weeks ago and were told at that time that we would receive them within a week. After multiple excuses, we are still awaiting his glasses. This business is unreliable. Time to contact VSP. Update: We finally received our son's glasses from William Stacy, OD's office and the prescription was wrong. The lens were put in the wrong side! We received our refund, went to Ann K Miyamura, OD office and our son's glasses, with the correct prescription, were ready for pick up the very next day! read more

In & Out A trip or two a year to the optometrist is what I have been accustomed to for the past 2 decades. I alternate between stylish frames with current lenses and contact lenses on a daily basis. I am new to Folsom, so my partner and I decided to check Dr. Stacy's inventory after a tasty meal in the same complex, Palladio. We ventured in and were greeted by a faceless voice with a body that quickly returned to her busy work; not her money making work- the customer. We announced we were looking for frames and one older man approached the two of us with questions that were seemingly normal. He released one end of a rope granting us access to the cluttered "retail area". His seemingly normal inquiries continued until he announced that they "don't carry brands that Lens Crafters does" as though they were ABOVE a national chain that would put their profits to shame, and ABOVE my current and preferred frame designer, Oakley. Our interaction continued for another sentence or two until I told him I would just browse while he helped my fellow shopper. At this moment the guy informed me that they "don't allow unaccompanied browsers" (me) as if I were a suspicious customer that he did not trust instead of inviting his seated co-worker to help one of us while he helped the other. Over-all I see this establishment as a waste of retail space and expect to see its doors closed with in the next year... Unless of course their overhead is bankrolled and not depended on profits generated by their own sales. This establishment lost not only my business, but that of friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else I meet that is shopping for eyewear. Btw, these Oakley frames are NOT from Lens Crafters. I stopped in to see Dr. Stacy because I had my eyes examined a couple months prior at an opthamologist in Placerville who wrote me prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses that weren't right. After a couple return trips I was told that was the best he could do for my right eye in which I was near sighted. I went to Dr. Stacy for a second opinion, mostly on one eye. He took a great deal of time in testing my eyes and explaining things. It turned out the prescription from the first doctor wasn't correct and Dr. Stacy wrote a new one. He ordered new right lenses for two pairs of gasses I had with the old prescription and replaced them in his office, in the frames that I already had while I waited. I can finally see clearly! What a huge difference it makes. He also ordered a new contact lens which should be in this week. Dr. Stacy was so patient and answered all the questions that I had. The glasses are great. I wish I would have gone to him a couple months ago and saved myself a bunch of money on lenses that weren't right. I read some of the reviews here about shopping for frames. I already had frames but I browsed through the frame selection while I was waiting for my appointment, just to kill time. Nobody stopped me from looking or followed me around either time I was there, so some of these reviews are rather puzzling. read more

Because of my eye exam being used this year, I really had no choice but to go through Dr Stacy for my contacts. When I called to order them on a Monday, I was told they would be in Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. I called Wednesday to see if they were in and spoke with dr Stacy. He said he hadn't ordered them yet. I said why not? I haven't gotten to it. What? I said when will you be ordering them? I don't know. I asked when they would be in. He tells me well things happen and who knows when they might come in. I asked if he was basically holding my Rx hostage and he said no, he didn't feel like ordering them for me. I demanded my Rx for glasses since he billed my insurance and went and got it. I went around the corner to LensCrafters and when they attempted to order my contacts, my benefits had been used by guess who... Yep, Dr Stacy. They got it straightened out, reexamined my eyes for free and got my contacts ordered. I don't know what his malfunction is, if he is doing some sort of insurance fraud or if he is just a combative donkey. Either way, steer clear. read more

OMG! This place is very strange!!! My daughter and I just walked in to look at some frames and as we were entering the frames area, we were stopped by the owner. He asked if we need help and we told him that we'd like to check out glasses frame for my daughter. He asked us to have a sit because they're busy right now. Really? There was only one customer in there and we can't go in and browse the frames ourselves?! I'd not spend a single penny at this store and please don't waste any of your time to go in there! My whole family and I purchased glasses from them, everything was going OK and the one time I had to bring my glasses in because the arms were falling off. Their tech continued to tell me that I had tried to glue them on, or somebody has. I continue to see nobody has done that and I said it is more than likely lube to get the rubber on to the metal. He shook his head and said no this is glue. He then later found out after touching it that it was lube. I told him I am not lying to you and that's when he kind of freaked out and did the customer service thing. But that left a very bad taste in my mouth. I went back because my insurance works there and my glasses were broken, I got another eye exam and purchased a pair glasses. That whole experience is fine, as long as I don't ever have to deal with that guy again. read more

OK, here is the situation. You need glasses you go to this place to check out the offerings. You walk in, the glasses section is roped off, yes, like a night club. Let me repeat that, the space where all the frames are at, is roped off - a black velour covered rope must be unhinged for you to go in there. OK, you now have access, the woman will NEVER leave your side. She will also ask you if you have insurance even before you state that you want to make a purchase. Now, I got to keep it real though, their frame selection is GREAT, better than anything in Sac, EDH, Roseville, etc. Their rude ways would never get my business. Oh, another thing, about 70% of the frames are locked, if you want to try something on, you have to let the lady know, she's at arm length so no worries. read more

This place is pushy and rude. And it's sad because they have a nice collection, which I wasn't even able to look at, because the 'buying manager' would not leave me alone for ten seconds. Every time I would pick up a frame she would snatch it out of my hand and put back on display meticulously while asking me twenty questions. I read the other reviews prior to stepping foot inside Dr. Stacy's and I was quite hesitant, but I figured what the heck.. The office itself is nice and offers a wide variety of frames. I agree with other Yelpers, majority of the glasses are locked in a case and I had to ask to see frames. The older woman (Dr. Stacy's wife) handed me each pair, one by one, and never left my side. If it were anywhere else, I'd find this extremely annoying! However, I was already expected it due to the reviews. Anyway, after an hour of browsing and trying on frames, I found an amazing pair of Kate Spades. I placed the order, was told the glasses would be ready in a week (and they were), and went on my merry way. I have known Dr. Stacy for more years than I am allowed to discuss here gentle readers. He has been my family eye doctor for all of those years. And though he has moved a couple of times I always follow him to where his office is. He is the kindest, most gentle soul, up to date with all the most modern technology and has excellent inventory always on hand. He always see me when I need to get in, even if he has to come in special, he always finds a way to make maximum use of my insurance plans. This store caught my husband and mine's eye because of the wide and fancy selection of designer frames they had on display by the window. We went home and the next day my husband decided to call to book an appointment. A guy named Kevin answered the phone and seemed very pleasant. My husband asked him what his benefits were and Kevin took the time explaining it all in detail to my husband, who hadn't used his benefits in a few years. Kevin was so knowledgeable, patient, and nice, that I told my husband to book me an eye appointment, too. Kevin made us both an appointment for 7 o'clock. We didn't book a weekend appointment but were pleased to find out they are open 7 days a week and have extended hours during the week! We went to our appointment the next day and there was Kevin, sitting at the front desk, alongside who I assumed was Dr. Stacy. Both were pleasant and welcomed us. We started off by filling out a standard questionnaire about who we were, where we worked, etc. The doctor showed me to his wife, who was in charge of showing us their selection of frames, and took my husband to his office to do the eye exam. The first thing his wife did, that I loved, was that she took me outside and showed me a "secret" parking lot that isn't really secret but no one really knows about. It's not directly in front of the store, so people don't notice it. I thought that was really hospitable of her to show me that. It was something extra she did that made me feel like she really cared about customers and didn't want them to waste time trying to find a parking spot, since we all know the Palladio parking is packed and cramped. Once we walked back inside and his wife started showing me the frames, I thought to myself how incredibly knowledgeable she is! If you had a question about frames or brands, she had the answer! She spent a lot of time showing me dozens and dozens of frames (her supply seemed never-ending), according to the style and frame shape I told her I liked. I was amazed at how huge their selection was of all the brands I love the most -- Lacoste, Fendi, Bebe, Michael Kors, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo -- you name it and they had it! Most stores I've gone to for glasses have a very small selection but not Dr. Stacy's office. There's no way you could walk into that store and not see something you loved. With the help of his wife, we picked out 6 potential eyeglass frames I liked and then, my husband came out from his eye appointment. The appointment took 40 minutes, which I was impressed with. I hate going for an eye appointment and going in and out; it makes me feel like the eye exam wasn't thorough enough. So, off I went with Dr. Stacy because it was then my turn for an eye exam. I walked inside his office and his equipment was very advanced! He took pictures of my retina and let me see it on the computer screen; from the picture, he then checked for signs of macular degeneration. He gave me a regular eye exam after that, asking me which image looked better, 1 or 2. Afterward, he did a glaucoma test on me, which I thought was pretty cool because I had never had one of those done on me before. The glaucoma test he did on me was called Tonometry. The test measures the pressure within your eye. Before getting started, the doctor put orange eye drops in my eye to numb my eye. He then used a device called a tenometer to measure the inner pressure of my eye. A small amount of pressure (which I didn't feel, since my eyes were numb) was applied to my eye by a tiny device. I appreciated that he didn't do the puffing air method, as that always freaks me out a little! When the test was done, I can say I was pretty dazzled by the whole experience. I had never had such a thorough eye exam in all my life of visiting so many different eye doctors! They say a thorough eye exam can help doctors detect early signs of diabetes and blindness, and I could tell that Dr. Stacy this seriously. After my eye exam, I went outside and saw my husband had selected a pair of stylish Dragon eyeglasses. I tried on the 6 pairs of glasses I had narrowed my selection down to and decided to get the burgundy-colored Michael Kors glasses that had Swarovski crystals on the side. By the time we were done, it was 8:30 (the store closes at 8) but the doctor and staff didn't do anything to make us feel rushed. A few days later, Kevin called and let me know our glasses were ready. I'm used to a 1-2 week turnaround time at other doctor's office, so I was happy to hear ours were finished so quickly. The glasses fit both my husband and I beautifully, and I loved sharpness of how well I could see in mine. At work, I've recommended Dr. Stacy's office to all my coworkers, since we're always looking for a good place to use our eye insurance at. I would wholeheartedly, without hesitation, recommend Dr. Stacy to anyone that is looking for great service, friendly staff, and the widest selection of all the hippest eyewear brands out today. read more

I called a few times to ask insurance questions and whatnot. Both the people I spoke to were polite and helpful. The older woman who was trying to "help" me was terrible. She actually said "don't even go there" when I asked about a smaller size for a pair of glasses I liked. She was very rude and condescending. Left without buying anything. Dr. William Stacy has been my optometrist for decades. I am connected to Bill, in that I have known him for 60 years! We were classmates together thru school. My family members have also had their eyes checked by him, for decades. What is extraordinary about Dr. Stacy as an optometrist, is his ability to listen to what the patient is saying and then to explain why that vision anomaly is occurring, and to suggest options. For instance, my daughter has near vision in one eye and far vision in the other eye, and she would not wear glasses, because she saw perfectly near and far without them. However, she did not have depth perception and she wanted to get a drivers license. So to demonstrate, he placed a lens in front of her eye and showed her how the world looked with and without depth-perception, so she said, "OH!" that is what depth perception looks like. And she has worn glasses ever since. Bill has found extraordinary lightweight frames for me since I have an upturned nose with not much bridge, and nose cancers over the years. He had an antireflective coating put on my glasses which makes it possible for my students to see my eyes with no glare. He deftly straightens my bent frames and repairs them, so the frames have lasted for decades. He is up to date on the latest opthalmic developments. He takes photos of my retinas and emails them to me and then compares them for me from year to year, to track the progression of my cataracts and macular degeneration. His retinal refraction device gives him a computerized measurement of the eye curvature and much more and it takes less than a minute with no drops or touching the eye, and just a very small light out of visual range. He is very sensitive to my need to minimize bright lights in my eyes. It is a thorough exam. His wife Sharon has graciously designed the interior of their lovely new office in the Palladio, on a corner walkway going straight through to ample free parking. She has a 'frame bar,' not for drinks, but to sit on the bar stool, and to try on frames, of which they have a huge selection. She delightfully furnished their new office location in Italian Renaissance to match the Palladio, and it is surrounded by fun shops and a park - with a pleasant patio outside the door. I am confident in recommending Dr. Bill Stacy to any friend or family member who would like the very best care of their precious vision. He has a woman associate who also sees patients Mon-Fri, and an on-site optician to reduce the time and cost of glasses. read more

The new Pallidio store has a great high end selection of frames. Had the lenses replaced in my husbands Lindberg frames, they had to get the rep to come in to get the specialty tool to change the lenses which they did. They now carry the Danish frames. Stopped in again when I saw a picture in the window of a Lindberg frame I was interested in, asked if they had that frame and the Dr's wife said yes. They weren't the same frame, she might want to take a closer look at the ad/ pic in the window. She'll follow you around like a lost dog. What was odd is they have the area with frames roped off like a movie theater, certainly not inviting. I asked more questions about the frames and at one point the women randomly says to me "open your mind" really what are you talking about. I know more about Lindberg frames then she does, they only carry them now because of seeing my husbands frames! This coming from an old lady who sports the typical granny frames. It was such an odd/ rude comment to make to a customer. Must be the crabby ole lady in her rearing it's ugly head (she should stay at home and quilt). I won't be purchasing my Lindberg frames from this place. The mark up is really high! Purchased my Lindbergs at Eye Design for much cheaper. Dr Stacy and his son were very nice and helpful to us. They might want to think about hiring a younger polite customer friendly person to over see helping customers with frames and take the theater rope away. She mentioned they were having a hard time since opening with hiring the right people, my guess is they leave because of her crabby ass. read more

Doesn't even deserve one star. Horrible customer service. Spent over $300 on eyeglass frames and lens that arrived without the edges polished, no protective coating, and according to Dr Stacy himself the lens were defective. Despite all this I kept the glasses because they were my only pair. Worst decision. Every 2-3 months I had to return to the store to fix the nose pads that kept falling off and/or the stem pads that also fell off. Finally I went in today and requested they replace the glasses. Dr Stacy refused. Just complete jerk. I guess he doesn't carry insurance. Certainly can afford it for the prices he charges. Something most definitely wrong with this place. Go elsewhere for your eyeglasses. read more

My family & I WERE customers of Dr. Stacy until today when his son, Richard, told me he was too busy registering his kids for school & didn't have time to deal (and I quote) with my BULLSHIT. My son took his glasses in for warranty exchange because the frame broke. I was told to bring the glasses in & they would be sent to Tommy Bahama for inspection. When Stacy's office called & said the cost would be $75, I went to the office to speak with them personally. At that point, the office still had my son's glasses (which consisted of the broken frame plus 1 lense that didn't fall out) & did not send them in for evaluation. I requested that they be sent in rather than the doctor's office making the evaluation. I was told that I should hear something in 7-10 days. After 14 days I called the office & was told that they hadn't heard anything & would call. Richard called & indicated that the cost would now be $61. I explained that the frame was still under warranty & would come to the office to discuss further. I arrived at their office & spoke to Dr. Stacy as his son was out for a few hours. I explained to the good doctor the situation who then offered a used frame since they were not able to get my frame back. I agreed, asked to see said used frame. Dr. Stacy brought out a used frame he said he would give. I asked about the one lense that they had (we had the other that fell out when the frame broke). He looked around & indicated that his son may have set it somewhere else. I asked for Richard to call me so we could discuss the lenses. Richard called me while he was out of the office. This is when Richard told me that he gave me the lone lense when I came in the first time. I explained to him that I was not given the lense - it was still in the frame. I asked him if he remembered taking out the lense to give to me & that is when he became defensive & said he was tired of dealing with my "bullshit". I called the good doctor to let him know that I didn't appreciate his son's language, that it was unprofessional. Dr. Stacy chuckled & said that he trusts his son and doesn't trust me & that he was standing by his son's version. No mention of the unprofessionalism. Looks like it runs in the family. Sorry for the long version but it's amazing that a company can be in business treating its customers this way. After reading the other reviews of this company, I can't believe I've stayed with them as long as we have. I wish I could give less than 1 star because that is being too generous. Needless to say, I filed a complaint with VSP & they're following up on it. I reviewed the other optometrists in the Folsom area who have consistently good reviews. Here is what happened, when I got new prescription, front desk lady told me that I could exchange the frames and pay the difference if I didn't like them. My new frames were heavy and not comfortable, so I went back for an exchange. They had different staff and an old lady who told that they won't exchange. She was disrespectful while talking to me. They are supposed to call me back after talking to the person who helped me. Didn't receive a call for 2 weeks, I called them and now story changed, the same front desk girl who I talked before flipped the side and says frames can't be exchanged. These people can't be trusted. Very unhappy about their service. Do not recommend them. read more

We were in a bit of a jam to get a replacement pair of glasses for my son who lost his in the bottom of the lake at summer camp. We just wanted to replace exactly what he had lost - prescription was current, just needed the glasses as is. We were heading out on a family vacation so I needed the glasses in a hurry. All was going well until the shipping of the glasses since we no longer live in Folsom. Glasses were ready late on Wednesday and we are leaving on vacation very early on Friday morning. I paid an additional $30 to have the glasses overnighted to me to one of the locations we will be on our vacation. I called to get the tracking number and when I looked it up to see the status of the shipment the package was NOT sent overnight, it was sent USPS Priority Mail. I called the office to inquire as to if this was a mistake and I was put through to Dr. Stacy himself. This is where the transaction went bad. He was rude and basically acted as if he didn't really care about the customer. He went so far as to tell me that I was lucky he even did this for me because his time is worth something. He charged me an additional $30 for this service that that he is telling me I am luck to have received. I disputed that I paid for OVERNIGHT and I was NOT getting that. He didn't care and wanted to argue about it so I hung up. I would NEVER use his services again. The staff that I spoke to on the phone were all very pleasant until I spoke to him. I hope he treats his staff better than he treats his customers. read more

Arrogant, unhelpful and unknowledgeable When I initially called to make an appointment I told them my daughter wanted to get contacts, she has never worn contacts, and that she needs her glasses Rx renewed. I gave them my insurance info and asked them to call me back to confirm what my coverage is so I would have a ballpark figure for my out of pocket expenses. I did not receive a call back for two days so called again the day before the appointment. I once again stated the apt was for contacts and an eye exam and they gave me my insurance info. When we went into the office, they asked if my daughter could have her eyes dilated. I said it was fine because I thought it would be fine. While she was in the exam room, Dr. Stacey was behind the counter and I started asking about how I should apply the insurance; towards glasses or contacts. He gave me contradictory information than what I was told on the phone and info that just didn't make sense. When I pointed things out, he stated that my insurance plan was" not very good" and that I should look into getting the "premier package". I have had my insurance provider for 15 years and they have always covered my basic needs and I, too, wear contacts and glasses. After Dr. Stacey further confused information, I simply asked "what should I do to make the most of my coverage"? He then stated "Well what would benefit me (Dr.) most financially would be for you to..." I was in shock and then told him "I don't care what would benefit YOU most financially. I care about what is the best for me and my daughter"! He simply grinned and had an arrogant look on his face. My daughter then came out of the exam room and when I mentioned contacts the other Dr. stated that she didn't know the apt was for contacts and that they could no longer do a fitting for my daughter since her eyes were dilated. Needless to say, I was very frustrated and irritated by the whole lack of communication and terrible customer service experience. I also stated this to the Dr. and he simply stated "We just moved offices and I have new staff. They haven't been trained yet and I just don't have the time to do it". I then told him that I would not be getting glasses from them, going elsewhere for the contacts and that her eye exam was a waste of time with him since I would most likely have to get her another exam from the Dr. that would be giving her contacts. Dr. Stacey was a waste of my time and my insurance coverage. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this office. It does not even deserve one star. read more

I have been in here a few times over the last year and a half or so and I am always very impressed. The have a great selection of frames and it is a nice location. More importantly the customer service is top notch! I have had my eye exam with both providers there including Dr. Stacy himself, and enjoyed my interactions with them both. They go above and beyond to make sure you leave with the best vision possible! I recently had to get my eyes checked for a possible prescription change and not only was I given trial lenses before ordering contacts, but Dr. Stacy wanted to be cautious and extra certain that what my eyes were showing that day of the exam wasn't skewed due to my over wearing my old contacts for too long. He made the time to see me again a couple days later and had me wear my glasses to ensure my eyes had a break from the old contacts and we checked my vision again. Our family began using Dr. Stacy about 3 years ago. When they were in the old location we were pleased however their frame choices did not compare to our old optometrist, Dr.Johnson in San Ramon. The staff in the older location was very friendly and although Dr. Stacy did not have the latest most advanced technology we were happy. Now that they have moved locations and it has become mostly a family run business, it has honestly been the worst experience in a very long time. Dr. Stacy's wife who runs the glasses section was quite condescending towards my wife and I showing us only 1 or 2 frames within our budget. When pushed further to our surprise more budget friendly frames were suddenly found. My wife found a pair and ordered. I on the other hand was not pleased with the selection and did not order. For our son who ordered 2 pair of the same frames one with the darkening tint for outside had his order all jumbled and mixed up with different frames. Now I decided to go back to my old San Ramon optometrist for my frames. I was told that I had already ordered a pair in August from a Folsom optometrist. After calling my VSP insurance they informed me that Dr. Stacy ordered me a pair and was reimbursed by vsp on the insurance claim. Can you say INSURANCE FRAUD!!! Needless to say I never ordered glasses from Dr. Stacy and will NEVER return taking my family's business elsewhere. Dr. Stacys office is the most poorly managed office I have yet to encounter. it's so weird that they have their retail section roped off. you need their permission to look around and shop. i like to take my time and browse. very strange that the sales lady wouldn't leave my side. after I told her I didn't have insurance and would be paying out of pocket, she kept mentioning how expensive their frames were and they cater to people with a certain type of insurance. I've been wearing designer frames for 20 years, I don't need someone telling me how expensive they are or hinting that I can't afford them. read more

After visiting for the second time I was curious if I was the only one who felt that the "Lens buyer" as she arrogantly calls herself was overbearing. After reading the other reviews it is apparently that I am far from the only one who had a negative impression of her. I've never been to any other optometrist so I was unaware that it is out of the norm to have the lens roped off. A young man tried to help me choose a pair of frames and I politely told him that I would like to just take a look around myself. After hearing this the lens buyer rudely interrupted and stated that she would be a better person to help me if I was going to be picky. She continued to make snide comments about knowing more about the frames than, she only buys the best, the ones that I would like are outside of my frames allowance and so on. She also made it clear that I MUST ASK HER to prior to touching anything. Both of the doctors that I have come in contact with were attentive and pleasant, it's unfortunate that the last person you come in contact with is a nightmare. If they are going to inflate the prices of the frames they should at least get someone friendly to sell them. It would behoove the staff to read these reviews. read more
