I attended a wonderful wedding last night at the only barn wedding facility in the state. Women…read morewore dresses, skirts and pant outfits. Men wore suits, business casual and jeans. The barn was nice and clean. They have beautiful bathrooms. The wedding ceremony was at 500pm in front of the oldest hickory tree in the county. They set up 200 chairs with an aisle down the middle for the wedding party to enter. The property has a nice area to take pictures and enjoy and outdoor pre-reception. Our reception was inside the barn we ate comfortably and heard bride and groom stories, prayer, a charge from the father of the bride. Dinner was catered by Thunder Bay Grill. The wedding party DJ played nice taped music during the dinner. Dessert was a cheesecake. At the end of the reception we launched balloons with lights in them sending off in the air on a new adventure, just like the bride and groom. A beautiful night. I highly recommend this facility.

The room with the ceremony was set up beautifully, and everything seemed to run smoothly and on time. There was space enough for all of us, I never felt too cramped. The reception area was nice, the food was good enough (as far as wedding catering goes, it was above average), and the bartenders were friendly. It seemed like a conveniently one-stop-shop, with ceremony space, reception space, and lovely looking grounds for photos for the wedding party during cocktail hour. I know nothing about the cost for any of this, any other events for the public they might host. But for this wedding and celebration, it was quite lovely.

Salty over crisp bacon, tough overcooked prime rib, desserts tasted like they had freezer burn, chicken was dry, shrimp were warm and selection for 30 dollars was ridiculous. I do have to say the Bloody Marys, coffee, potatoes were good. Our waitress was fantastic and I was impressed with how clean everything was. The fact that we made special plans for Easter and had a friend in town from California we wanted to take her somewhere special really upset me. She actually told the waitress not to waste the overcooked beef she couldn't eat, but to give to someone's dog so it didn't go to waste. The seasoned fries have rotated over the years between shoe string and waffle, but always come with a good amount and are nice and crispy. The dining area isn't massive, but there's rarely ever a wait, which is a huge plus on a Friday night. Whenever I see a post in the local foodie group I'm in on social media asking for the best fish fry in the area, Bubs is always the one I recommend.
