We decided to have many times take-outs which was just ok, only because the shrimp tacos tasted good and would have been better the shells were cooked more. We like that you are doing weekly specials now. We recently had your current special menu, the Pastrami Reuben burger was excellent. I would have like to have ordered the Chicken Cacciatore but wasn't sure if the bell peppers were going to green which I dislike and was wondering if I could have them changed to red or yellow. Beautiful property. Visited for an outdoor wedding near the water and the staff did an amazing job setting the ambiance. Reception was held in the ballroom which was a lovely open canvas space. The staff was so accommodating, personable and professional. The dinner was delicious: salads, steamed veggies, salmon, tri tip (complete with carving station!) and the creamiest, scratch made mashed potatoes I have ever had. read more

The location is beautiful. I'd give it a 5 star. The grounds are really kept up and make for some perfect pictures. They have a private lot and there is plenty of parking. The GPS works perfect for finding this place, even if you have quite a drive. Bathrooms: They were beautiful when we arrived, but need ongoing maintenance. It wasn't more then half way through the wedding and one or more stalls were totally out of paper. I only know this because twice I had to hand over paper to my stall mate. Catering: The happy hour fruit was great. The three dips for bread was perfect for the savory people. The only issue I have was the bread for the dip wasn't refilled and the plates were not bussed. Plates were piling up outside the photo booth, on the coffee table, and on the book display. I moved the books so we weren't charged for any mishaps. I also restacked the plates on the coffee table and took them off of the photo booth. By the time we filed out for dinner were the plates being removed. The guests kept asking where to put them and there wasn't anywhere to be seen. I even talked to one of the servers and the issue wasn't resolved. I hope the busser called in sick and this was the issue and it will be resolved in the future. Dinner was nice and there was something for everyone at the table, even the kids. The bottle service for the cider was well done. A few tweaks and this can be 5 stars. I hope this was just a one off event. read more

I had my wedding here in October 2022. The venue is very beautiful and the food is decent and the price is very reasonable. But what really sold me was Mandy as she was the person I worked with and met with at the beginning before I signed the contract. She was so helpful and very sweet. Well unfortunately she moved positions and I worked with Don. Don was very nice as well and though he took a very long time to respond to my messages, (sometimes I had to forward the email twice, even three times to get a response) when he did respond he answered all of my questions clearly and respectfully. I know all my questions were probably tedious to respond to sometimes. But, my biggest complaint is two days before the wedding I find out Don will not be with me on my wedding day or the rehearsal, but a man named Josh who I have never met will. When meeting Josh he was very kind to my husband and I. The day of the wedding is where the biggest issue lies. Josh was very kind to me luckily, but was very rude to my family and friends who were setting up. Also, all my planning of the decorations and the timeline was finalized with Don but apparently he didn't communicate that with Josh because items were missing and out of place and when that was brought to the attention of Josh, he was very rude about it and said that wasn't part of the plan. Well actually it was, I even made a floor plan myself of the space and all the tables and signs and decorations and shared it with Don and talked it over with him but apparently Josh didn't get the memo. That was just very frustrating and stressful on the day of and some stuff that was promised never happened and it would have been nice if they at least communicated or if I could have just worked with the person who was going to be helping me the day of to make sure everyone was on the same page. But overall the venue was wonderful and I'm very glad I had it here. P.s. I left something very special to me in the brides getting ready room and thankfully Don was there the next day and knew exactly where it was and returned it to me, which was a life saver. read more

Let me get straight to the point by saying, we chose to have our wedding at Orchard Creek Lodge and it was honestly the best decision we could have made. The entire process from start to finish was so seamless and wonderful, it really made wedding planning a fun, stress fee experience. I would highly recommend this venue for any event. Just like many of you, I searched and toured dozens of venues and become quickly discouraged not finding one that seemed to fit my budget and all my wedding dreams. Then I happened upon Orchard Creek, made an appointment with Kathy to tour the venue and after touring and talking with Kathy I knew that this was the place I had been searching for. It seemed to good to be true! It was very affordable, fit our budget and had everything we were looking for, most importantly, it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! (Not to mention the adorable bridal suite!) Kathy Cameron is truly an angel!! She is seriously the best ever! She is so sweet and hilarious and has so much experience in this industry, she was extremely helpful with the entire process and with any questions or concerns we had. She was always quick to respond to emails/questions and always willing to give advice and help in any way possible. She truly made the entire process very enjoyable and completely stress free! Our wedding day at Orchard Creek was absolutely perfect! Everything was set up exactly as we wanted, the food was delicious, the entire catering staff was super nice and professional and very helpful to any needs throughout the entire night. I honestly can't think of a single bad thing to say, it was just simply perfection! Many of our guests have told us that it was one of the most beautiful and most fun weddings they have ever attended. If you feel overwhelmed in choosing a venue, I highly highly recommend at least taking the time to come tour Orchard Creek and chat with Kathy. You won't regret it and you might just fall in love like we did! This review is only for the location of a wedding venue at Orchard Creek Lodge. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue, this Lodge is lovely!! There is a wonderful central area decorated with a tall structure adorned with white drapes and a sparkling chandelier; add guests and you have a beautiful wedding venue!! I can only imagine how wonderful your wedding pictures might be with the many picturesque back drops available here. Seating is more than enough, the grounds are kept pristine. We just had our wedding here a couple days ago, and it was absolutely beautiful. A few months prior to our wedding there were a few hiccups and rough patches. After speaking with Don, he did rectify the situation. Communication was better, and both him and Christine listened to our wants and needs. Josh was phenomenal to say the least. His hospitality and personality made our experience even more beautiful. Mandy was beyond helpful and such an angel. The day of our wedding, it ran so smooth. The professionalism, hospitality, willingness to listen and help made our wedding at OCL thousands time better. My husband and I received vegan meals and it was amazing! We had a buffet for our guests, and we received countless of positive feedback on the food. We had our wedding ceremony here and the venue here is very scenic and beautiful. Meghan was really nice showing us around. Don was our rehearsal/wedding day coordinator that was very helpful. The walk down to the alter is about 2 minutes. During rehearsals, it's easy to walk down the path that the coordinator shows you but once the chairs are added during the wedding, it became really hard to see where you're supposed to turn. They allowed us to use all of the facilities needed for the wedding. We used the dressing rooms to put down our purses, etc. The rooms do not lock though. Our wedding day was 115 degrees and it was hot. We had our ceremony during the morning but it was still very hot for our guests to sit. It was about 80 degrees at 10:30 in the morning. I wish they have more shade for the guests to sit under since Lincoln gets really hot. My only complaint is that during the actual ceremony, they had another coordinator with Don that we didn't work with us during rehearsals. She had quite a delay in me walking down towards the aisle and was not something we had practiced during rehearsals. It was really annoying that she wouldn't let me walk down because i knew it would take some time to get down. People waited some time for me to come down. read more

How to plan an event with ZERO dollars... start with Sun City! We came to them last year and explained that we were trying to throw a fundraiser, but had absolutely no budget. Zip, zilch, nada. They worked with us on fees, held our hands through the planning process (filling super weird needs), and helped throughout the night to make the event absolutely unforgettable!!! Such a classy place to have an event! We celebrated my grandmother's 90th birthday here! It was an amazing event and we had over 250 people in attendance. The facilities here were very clean and the staff was great. There was a bar host and food. We had salad, garlic mashed potatoes, salmon and tri-tip. Everything was cooked perfectly! I was especially impressed by the salmon. Usually when Salmon is mass produced it is usually not that great, however they did a great job! The bartender Port great drinks! The outside back of the facility had a perfect backdrop for family pictures! That parking lot was huge and had plenty of space for all of our cars! I would definitely use this once again! read more

I was looking at this place to have my dad's celebration of life at, they are 100% unwilling to work with people. I wanted to have the celebration of life down at the ceremony outdoors area with the pond and overhang. I was told I'm not allowed to bring my own food and drink for the event, and that I would have to pay a minimum $500 fee for catering even though all I needed was drinks and snacks. All of that was fine with me. However they were willing to loose the business over the fact that they will under no circumstances bring food or drink down to the ceremony area. All my elderly guests would have to walk up a big hill and stairs to get food or drink. I even offered to bring it down myself, nope, logistically it wouldn't work they said. They gave every excuse they could that didn't even relate to the situation at hand to not do it. Excuses like we would need cart hot and cold carts up and down the hill when all we need is snacks there sure isn't hot carts and we're talking around 50 people. I'm surprised this place is doing as well as it is if this is how they treat people who want to have events at their establishment. Definitely disappointed with this place to say the least. read more

I had my wedding here in November 2019. It was the first venue my now husband and I looked at. At the time, Mandy was the manager (which she was new to). We spoke with her and placed our deposit around September 2018 (one perk was we were told that when we were announced husband and wife, that the day-of coordinator would have the fountain turned on right by the ceremony site as a surprise for the guests). Flash forward some time, I received a voicemail from the catering manager (Don) who was trying to find out information regarding my event...the event he was referencing actually had nothing to do with me...but someone else. At that point I was really nervous wondering if they still had my wedding date saved with our deposit. When I called back and spoke with Don, he was very short with me and cut me off a few times, but he did recognize that it wasn't for my event and everything regarding my wedding was still in place. Once we got a little closer to the wedding, we had our meeting at the venue. Come to find out, Mandy was no longer the wedding manager, it was now Don and Mandy became the day-of coordinator. In my experience with Don, he comes off as very inauthentic and at times snobby. His assistant Christine is also not very friendly. I feel the people who schedule and handle the details of weddings should be very organized, helpful and friendly, especially when you are paying thousands of dollars to use their facility. We found out prior to October 2019 that the venue does not provide private menu tastings. You have to attend one of the tastings from one of their wedding expos that they hold at their site (nobody advised me of this when I booked them). They only have two a year (spring and late summer/early fall). I had already missed the Spring event and now had to attend the one in late summer/fall. I had to cancel my plans that I had already made to make sure I could taste the food that would be served at my wedding. They also do not give a tasting of every dish that is an option on their list. At this event, we decided to speak with Christine or Don and to make a large payment. When we spoke with Christine, she was $500 short on payments that I had already made. This was very frustrating. I showed her several email correspondence between Don and me showing that he had received the payment back in 2018. She acted as if she didn't believe me and advised they'd have to check with their accounting department. Finally, everything money-wise was straightened out and we scheduled our final appointment. We went over everything and Don printed us an invoice, in addition to the banquet event order. The dollar amounts of money-owed he advised, would not be accurate as it showed I still had a balance owed where the invoice he printed showed the venue owed me money back as they said I had overpaid. The dollar amounts of items ordered matched on both invoices. At this point we thought we had a large credit (as told). As we had a partially hosted bar up to a certain amount, we told Don that we did not want to put the credit towards the bar, but would request the refund after the wedding in case anything changed. We had our rehearsal the day before the wedding and met with the male day-of coordinator. He was awesome!! However, he advised that Mandy would be our day-of coordinator as he was off for personal reasons. We were really bummed and honestly a little worried. The day of our wedding, we all arrived around 12p to start getting ready. Mandy introduced herself to me (bride) and my bridal party and escorted us to the bridal suite and provided a tray of snacks and a bottle of champagne. However, she didn't introduce herself to my husband and his party until approximately 2:30 (30 min prior to the start of our ceremony). She was nowhere to be found. My husband and his party had no idea where to go or that they would be provided snacks/drinks as well. They waited outside for almost 3 hours. At the ceremony time, Mandy almost had my husband walking down with no music playing. We had a special song for him. At the end of the ceremony, she never even turned on the fountain which we were really looking forward to as a special moment, especially as a photography moment. She was however, very helpful after the ceremony and drove my husband and I on the golf cart to a photo site. Later, Mandy approached me advising that my bar tab had been reached, but at over a $150* more than what I authorized (*approx.). She advised that Don told her I wanted to use my credit to put towards the bar. I never once said that. After the wedding we found out that I didn't have a very large credit, but that their system had duplicated a payment I had made. Very long story short, the venue is beautiful and priced within reason. However, they need an overhaul on their catering manager/assistant and day-of coordinator. They need to be more organized and professional. Based on my issues, I would not recommend. read more

We recently got married this past July and I was so excited and couldn't wait. In my meetings with Kathy and my Dad, I was told everyone would have water (mind you it was 100 plus on my wedding day) and on the day of, nobody but the bridal party was offered water and even that was shorted. My grandma almost passed out and we asked for a cart, the staff was very unhelpful and rude. We ordered appetizers that we never received, a waitress was fired on the floor, they didn't serve all my buntinis that I ordered and half the room didn't receive their dinner until 9:30, which was served after the late night snack that they never announced. Overall we were very disappointed. With all the planning that goes in you expect a little hiccups, but not like this. Cold food was delivered and Kathy was only there until I walked down the aisle. She promised to be there the whole time and Don was rude and had no clue what my plans were. We were very disappointed in the service and how rude the staff was to all of our guests. We had a large wedding with over 250 guests and with how much money you spend, you don't expect all this to go wrong and people not acknowledge their mistakes. read more

My brother scheduled a wedding here. He booked it in Sept 2018 for a May 23, 2020 date. When they decided on a date, the woman who made the reservation told him, his fiancé, and our grandma that they needed a $500 deposit to hold the date. My grandma gave them her credit card, and the woman said, "Wow, putting a hold on it already! The first wedding scheduled for 2020." We all assumed that this confirmation was sufficient. Apparently it wasn't. In January of 2020, the fiancé called a vendor, and they told her they couldn't do her wedding because they were doing a different wedding AT THE SAME VENUE. We called Orchard Creek Lodge, and, low and behold, they didn't have our reservation. Apparently there was a change in management around the time they scheduled. The woman who placed the hold was NOT the one who cancelled. The new manager cancelled the hold without contacting ANY of us. When we brought this to the new manager, Don, he simply said they didn't have a deposit. None of us thought to check back if the deposit went through on my grandmas credit card. We assumed that with this "high-class", expensive venue, they would have followed through. Pretty poor administrative work, especially on such a big day and big event. Truly disappointing and PATHETIC. I'm sure it's a beautIful place to have a wedding, if they actually end up following through with their booking. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

Wow! We just moved to SCLH in Lincoln, CA and this is the first time we have used the catering service at the OCL. What a great service. We were celebrating my wife's 80th birthday, and arranged for the catering service to plan a buffet style dinner for 40 guests. The food was outstanding, the setup perfect, and the servers were excellent. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the meal and wine. We are members of SCLH, however, the Meridian restaurant, and the catering service are also available to the public. They are particularly good at putting on weddings on the premises. Attended my cousins wedding at this beautiful location. The ceremony was great and the food was pretty good. Two stars because, as others have written, the staff were rude, disrespectful and unorganized. My family was seated in the front lobby prior to the ceremony, not having been told that we should be waiting in another area. My father was not feeling well at the time and was sitting quietly on a couch. I don't know her name but some rude white lady came to usher him out as if he were some drunk dude making a scene. She also gave me and my husband attitude for changing my baby's diaper in the same area and not in the bathroom. I chose not to use the changing table because I find them to be unsanitary and I'm pretty good at keeping a clean diaper changing space. I would have happily listened to the rude white lady had she approached me differently. Instead of speaking to me directly she complained loudly and passive aggressively to another white lady staff. This venue could really use some customer service training as their White lady communication/customer service style was condescending and non welcoming. read more

The venue was perfect for the Celebration of Life for my mom, on January 6, 2018 but the staff and there organization skills is much to be desired. We arrived two hours early to set up memory table, dessert table and bring flowers for all the larger tables, which I was told in an email I could come in anytime by Kathy. Kathy told us when we arrived the staff would not be there for another hour, an hour prior to the celebration. No table cloths were on the table, so we started opening table cloths to take care of that so we could get the flowers set, they acted like we were in there way, because my group of people were having to do parts of their jobs, they were rude not helpful. There was not one person in charge or that came up to see what we needed. Nothing.!! We had to tell them to get the mirrors for the high tables and the votive candles and the candles were already used and old. The bars and beverage stations were not ready when people were arriving and this was one of the last things we needed to deal with during this time of recently losing our mom. The room and garden area were great and so was the food, but they truly need help with the staff and how to organize a function and stay on top of things and there was not one person there to assist in anything, when I was looking for someone to talk to no one in sight, I had to go into the kitchen to find someone. They never checked to see if we needed anything, it was like we were a burden, when we attempted to talk to Kathy the catering manager she jumped down our throats because she has 8 wedding appoints today and then brought the appointments in during our celebration. Not very professional, also I had an open bar for the first hour and a half and one bar was charging guests until we stopped them. No communication, there is obviously party planning issues. After spending 10k for a total of four hours on this special day in the end it turned out but it was because of the help Of all my family members and friends to help it get pulled together. If you are not going to rely on the staff then great place but if you Need there assistance Beware!! read more

Regarding CJ on 1/7/18 for his celebration of life comments. I am the groom whose family was visiting with Kathy when all your entourage arrived. As a witness to these erroneous accusations I wanted to give the real side to what transpired. Your baker came and asked where table and linens were, Kathy had to excuse herself from helping us and went to help her. From what I could tell about the situation, you arrived 3.5 hours before the staff was even scheduled to be there. With the best customer service in mind I witnessed Kathy calling everyone in early because their manager wasn't even in yet. Once again, we were rudely interrupted by another man who expected her to go out and start setting everything up on her own. Apparently, they all thought my scheduled time with Kathy was far less important than theirs. Kathy politely let him know that she couldn't leave us and that she also had other appointments scheduled and kindly explained that she called the staff in early and they would be in shortly to help. I would not have been able to keep the composure that Kathy had and sat there thinking what do these people expect showing up a few hours earlier than their scheduled time. Being in business myself I am smart enough to know what the difference between a sales manager, (Kathy) and a banquet manager is. Later in the day my fiancé and I were there to get a tour of the ballroom, but the crowd of the early gathers had spilled into the the lobby and the walkway making it difficult to get to where we wanted to go. The lies that I have read on this Yelp review especially regarding Kathy made me curious enough to see what else you have Yelped about, unsurprising all I saw was that you use Yelp to complain. What really happened that day is a nice lady was trying to politely help a bunch of irrational people the best she could while trying to give the best customer service to her clients that were supposed to be there. From my point of view, you seemed like the rude ones. It is a shame that individuals like yourself that use Yelp to voice false accusations can't be sued for slander and be held liable. Suspicious thing was they left some cash thinking drunk girls wouldn't notice. Only I was sober so I noticed when I grabbed my purse right after dinner. I told the coordinator and he said oh my staff wouldn't have a reason to go back there and walked away. I wasn't expecting someone to fess up but at least say oh sorry that happened and not walk away.... So while we were all outside having a beautiful ceremony, someone stole cash. This venue was a nightmare. The only good thing from this venue was the food they catered to us. We where told we would have the outside section for our buffet and guests but on the day of my wedding as im running up in my wedding dress i see that they rented that out to someone else ( i was not happy) on the day of our rehersal Meghan and told us that a band would be playing that same day and that we NEEDED to be done before 5 because the band would be setting up and practicing after that until the concert started at 7. When i arrive at 4 oclock that band is on the stage and blaring there music. I got frustrated and started to cry because i had one day until my wedding with no clue of what to do.. Meghan then proceeded to argue with me in a condescending matter and chuckled at me when i explained my frustration. I have NEVER been more disrespected in my life. We proceeded to our rehersal where we cant hear anything because of how loud the band is ( we where told to stand right next to the speaker blaring music) I was so frustrated and upset. On the day of the wedding Don was supposed to helo coordinate the event. The room i was told to wait in was 95 degrees, no one directed our guest down to the cermony sight, no one came to check if i knew what to do as i couldnt do the rehersal the day prior, we started twenty minutes late, as we where trying to set up for the wedding on a VERY limited time scheduel the cermony sight has 4 long white ropes where we where supposed to stand from the band the night before but looked like nuse's on the wedding stage ( this was a problem because the venue wont let you use a ladder to get them down and no one was there to help). All of this should have been handled by Don but wasn't. We also explained multiple times we wanted a golf cart for our elderly guests. One was not provided and no one would acknowledge us when we requested it over 10 times for my 90 year old grandpa sitting in the 100 degree weather.Dont come here. Meghan is awful, snooty, better than you attitude. Don is clueless. And your wedding could become a disaster if they do to you what they did to us. My appointment was at 2:30 to discuss hosting my wedding at Orchard Creek Lodge, at 2:40 she pops out of her office to tell my mother and I that she's almost done. 2:45 the group that was in her office leaves and she invited us in, does not introduce herself to me or my mother, does not apologize for being 15 minutes late and does not help us into her very small and disorganized office (we have a stroller with my 8 month old in it). Obviously my time is not important to this woman. We sit down and she starts asking questions about my wants and needs and needs me to repeat myself numerous times because she is not paying attention. She then hands me a stack of papers with a number scribbled on it. Did not go over any food or menu options, did not tell me what all was included in the price but instead says it's all on the paper and to look at it. Okay I'm baffled. She then leads us outside and points to an awning and says that's where the ceremony is, she doesn't tell me how to get down there or where the chairs will be set up or anything then starts walking away when my mother asks "where would you get ready?" Kathy says "we'll get there." My mother asks okay but where is it so we have an idea of where it is in relation to the ceremony site. Again Kathy rudely says "again we'll get there." My mother says okay can you at least point to it and Kathy says "No." At this point I'm ready to walk away because this is beyond ridiculous the amount of awful customer service this woman is providing. We have a stroller and are walking up the ramp while she goes up the stairs and she goes "no Kelsey come this way through this door. Okay we have a stroller please hold on. Kathy is obviously annoyed we aren't going fast enough and then walks inside saying she will get the door. She doesn't she just stands inside waiting for us. She then takes us into the ballroom where there is another event being set up and we are in there for all of 2 minutes before she leads us away, we dont even get to really look at the ballroom. She leads us to a cluttered back stairway that leads to the bridal dressing room and there is barely walking room and she could care less we have a stroller so my mother walks away with my son in frustration and Kathy continues the very quick tour. Then at what I believe was the end of the 20 minute appointment she walks away and says ok well you let me know and that was it. Okay so to sum it up.... 15 minutes late, no apology, didn't explain anything, rushed through the entire tour, was rude and had the worst customer service skills I've ever seen. I have never been so baffled. What a huge waste of time what a disappointment. Kathy you clearly need to work on your customer service. read more
