When you call you get a receptionist who can only tell you to email your request and paperwork. The first receptionist gave me the wrong email address. In 2 days Gmail returned the email. I called again, different person, but again, they only do business by email. Ten days later I haven't heard from them. I'm a current customer, having a hospital bed from them. So they seemed the logical place to get a manual wheel chair. They call me every few weeks trying to convince me I need a power wheelchair. There must not be much profit in manual chairs. I gave up and bought one from Amazon. Insurance will probably not reimburse me, but the old wheelchair I had (was in my garage for a number of years) was no longer useable, and I couldn't wait. It would be nice if when you call you could talk to the person who would handle your request. And they could respond the same or next day. If YELP allowed zero stars, that what I'd rate. I would have given zero stars but then I couldn't write this review. My sweet 85 year old mom has been sleeping in a recliner for the last week because Orbit delivered a defective mattress for her new hospital bed - dozens of calls from myself and the Director of Nursing at my mom's AL to get the mattress fixed or replaced since the day of delivery on Monday without resolution and now she has to endure the pain of the wound on her backside through the weekend since they are closed. I still don't know if she will get a new mattress on Monday because no one would schedule a delivery for us! It's infuriating and I'm so sad for my mom to have to go through this. Wheel chair and wheel chair back cushion and seat cushion. Quality terrible. Does not even last one year. Medicare only covers these items once very five years. /Back cushion cardboard base snapped in half. "Metal ball" in seat cushion migrated to middle of cusion. Both caused discomfort and were no longer usable. Wheel chair wheels spin causing chair to slide left to right and very dangerous potentially causing very hard falls on one's face as well as hips. No warranty for seat back cushion or seat cushion. Orbit will only keep trying to repair wheel chair; will not replace it even though the policy is to replace it if "it cannot bee repaired." Find another medical supplier for long term needs of equipment. read more

Trying to reach a live person for service is next to impossible. The recording says t[ leave a message and they will call you back. Sometimes it's a week later Sometimes not at all. I had rented a hospital bed and wheelchair at discharge from rehab. Once my MIL got home tried to order raised toilet seat and never got it. Tried calling and never got response. Orbit Medical Supply uses an overseas Customer Service and they are useless. They can not answer any questions. They only thing they can do is read what is on the screen. If you ask for a supervisor the overseas customer service tells you that they don't know if they will speak to you. If you ask for a customer service agent in the US they will not transfer you. You just have to keep calling back. Once you get through to someone in the US there is NO follow through on your prescription. You basically have to continually call and call. They don't have the staff to follow through. You are better off going somewhere else. Run as fast as you can from Orbit Medical Supply. read more

This has been one of the most annoying companies I've ever dealt with. It's very hard to get customer service. They're very bad about calling back. They showed up at my senior moms home to deliver a bed before talking to me about the cost, what kind of bed it was, etc. Some young guy just shows up & my mom was there by herself. 5-stars to the delivery person who brought a wheelchair for my husband after he arrived home from being hospitalized for a month after having a stroke. However, 1-star to the Customer Service Rep. with whom I spoke after "renting" the wheelchair for a year. I called to inquire about the balance due (after paying the balance due, we would OWN the wheelchair!), because it seemed rather high, since we had been paying a monthly rental fee for a year, in addition to our co-pay amount after the initial billing at the beginning. The CS Rep. could not adequately explain 'how' they arrived at the balance due figure-- she kept saying that there was never a "total" originating from the beginning (even though I was staring right at it on the EOB from our insurance company!). So based on her 'theory', then HOW do they have any figures with which to work, AT ALL???! I just wanted her to "do the math" in a clear way that would make sense to me, and arrive at the total that our insurance company was billed at the beginning; but she couldn't/wouldn't, and became very annoyed, interrupting me, and talking 'over' me (as well as talking 'down' to me), EVERY time I started to ask a question, or I attempted to explain my confusion. She then became so exasperated that she told me that I should call our insurance company and ask them to explain how Orbit bills! WH-A-A-A-T???!!! Orbit can't explain how Orbit bills??? And instead my insurance company should know better than Orbit how Orbit bills??? Wow. Just. Wow. (Bottom line: I paid the balance due, since I had no other choice, and now we are finished with them-- thank goodness!). BTW, prior to receiving the balance due statement: a (different) CS Rep. called in regard to the wheelchair (not sure 'what', specifically, she was calling about at that point?!); so I tried to return her calls twice, and each time I had to leave a message, and she NEVER, EVER returned my calls! Does this company even TRAIN their CS Reps.??? (If they do, it's NOT being done properly, in my opinion!!!). A LOT of room for improvement here!!! (But, again, kudos to the delivery person-- he was friendly, courteous, and took the time to explain the features of the wheelchair!). :-) read more

HORRIBLE company in all aspects!! I wish I could give them "0" stars! My mom came home from rehab with oxygen equipment. 1) The first day she came home I had a question about the equipment and when I called Orbit the person answering the phone was laughing with another colleague about going home early and when she finally said hello she was super annoyed by my call interrupting her conversation. I asked her name and she told me it was Megan (sure, right). 2) A few days after this "enjoyable" call I had with Megan I called to complain and spoke with someone named Asia A. who said she would follow-up and get back to me with the name of Megan's supervisor. Well, surprise, Asia A. never called me back. 3) Now a month later I was visiting my mom and the main oxygen machine was making a loud beeping noise that it never made before so I called Orbit. I was told by the operator that someone would be calling me back in a few hours. Well, 2 days went by and NO ONE ever called me back. I called a neighbor who also uses oxygen and we were able to find out the noise issue and fix it ourselves. But could you imagine if this was an emergency??? I mean, we are talking about OXYGEN for an older person!! 4) Tried calling them at least 3 times and ALWAYS am asked to leave a message since no one was available. You can NEVER reach anyone. TRUST me, if your loved one means so much to you, DO NOT USE this company! My family is in the process of moving my mom to another medical company immediately. read more

Third time is a charm? I may never know. I called the customer support line and selected the option for an oxygen emergency. That was 51 minutes ago and I continue to hold. Oh I could select the call back option but the last time I did that it was over 24 hours before I received a call back. The phone rang twice and they hung up and no voicemail was left so you know it was just to say they dialed my number. I am calling today because my mothers oxygen machine has an amber light. Was very disappointed with quality of service from this company. My husband was sent home from the hospital needing oxygen on a Monday. I picked him up along with an oxygen tank. That night a technician dropped off a machine that converts regular air into pure oxygen, an attachment that fills a small, five hour tank, and a bigger tank to use for mobility out of the house and for power outages that, allegedly, had about five hours worth of oxygen.He spent five minutes showing us, new users, how to work the equipment. When I called to get further instructions on filling the small tank, I found there was a tube missing and it was out of stock at Orbit. The missing tube will be delivered to us next Monday. We used the bigger tank for about two hours on Thursday away from the house. It seemed empty. I called Orbit to find out how to tell how much oxygen was in the tank only to be told the tank was empty. I could expect a call from their service department on Monday during regular business hours. I asked what to do in case of a power outage and was told to call back if that happens. Long and short of it, if the right equipment was delivered and explained in the first place, we would not have a problem. If the missing tube for home filling tanks were not out of stock, we would not have a problem. If the empty tanks were replaced in a timely manner, we would not have a problem.If we had a choice, I would never use this company, but it seems to be the preferred provider for someone - Rush hospital? I desperately awaited my wheel chair delivery as I was using a loaner from the retirement center I moved into. It had no brakes so that's why I was desperate. When I heard my New Chair was coming I was elated !!!!!!! ANDRE (JR) arrived perfectly on schedule and was very professional as he discussed the Company, Himself and The Chair, he covered everything. Santiago, the service technician who came out to perform routine maintenance on the oxygen machine, arrived on time and was very professional. He quickly swapped out filters and checked the device overall. We also have an emergency back-up tank that we had used a couple of times, he noted that there was only 1 hour of oxygen left and ordered a replacement tank. II don't want to even give 1 star. This place sucks in everyway. If you have medicare medicaid you get treated so poorly. The first few years I had no problems, I recommended them to everyone, not anymore. This last powerchair I got from this has been a P.O.S They took it in for repairs twice and it came back both times worse. Now here it is summer and I can't get out, they pushed the arms down all the way and never put the screws back in. If I move the joystick a certain way it will spin so fast I almost get thrown out. Going up and down on curbs can't happen the foot plate is to low it gets stuck. Going down a incline I tip over ( was saved by my grandson). Yes Orbit knows and started not answering my calls. Yes I have reported them to medicare. But I have one more year with this one and quarantee I will NEVER work with this company again!!! HEED MY WARNING read more

Technician Ryan did a wonderful job of resolving a problem with my Quantum Edge with iLevel power chair. He actually picked up my chair after a replacement part arrived and returned the repaired chair back to me in less than 4 hours. If I could give zero I would. Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life! Started with trying to get my father in law's equipment returned after he passed. Several attempts over two months with not even a return call. After finally being on hold for two hours someone picked up and said the person I needed to talk to is on another line and would return my call. That didn't happen. Several other times on hold for over an hour had to hang up. Emailed tried to use chat with no response left voicemails mails never returned. Finally got through to a person on phone and wanted to call me back again about scheduling I said absolutely not ! I insisted on speaking to someone to get on schedule to pick up equipment. Finally scheduled only to have them late for picking up changing in their system the times they gave me after calling in morning to verify pick up and someone will call me half hour before or when they are on their way! And dont bother asking to speak to supervisor once I was disconnected and three other times I was told they were busy! Transferred once to a supervisor voice mail only to be disconnected! My mother lives at Monarch Landing in Naperville, she an issue with her electric wheelchair where her lower leg was wounded. We needed to figure out she was hurt and have assurance the chair was working properly. (I was not there, I live in Austin, TX) Jason, in sales was trying to help my sister, but was just adding to the aggravation so I put in charge of communicating with Orbit with the issue of the chair. When I talked to Jason I explained I didn't think he was the correct person to answer our questions since he could not make any decisions regarding the chair, Jason agreed. I asked him to find out who would be evaluating the situation and to have them call me. Abraham, the warehouse manager called me that afternoon. His exceptional customer service skills, listening, positive response, and follow through, were not unnoticed by 3 type A personalities looking for someone to help us after my Mother's injury and the motorized wheelchair incident. After my Mom came home from rehab Abraham was at her apartment a few hours later, evaluating the chair and talking to my Mom. She explained how the accident happened and her apprehension for using the same chair which she felt caused her injury. After conversing Abraham went to the shop and brought a new motorized wheelchair for my Mother in about an hour. She hasn't been able to use it much because of being quarantine since returning home but she seems satisfied and I'm sure if there is an issue she'll be calling Abraham, he willingly gave us all his cell phone number. I repeatedly told them the chair had an electrical short. The never believed me!!! I was getting shocked every time I touched my door handle or the elevator button. They finally brought my chair back to me after having it for 4 months. The chair was not fixed, 2 guide wheels and the foot rest missing, the seat post broken. My father came home from a rehabilitation facility and was told that a wheelchair, commode, and bed were covered by medicare. When my dad no longer needed a bed he called to have it picked up. Months later, after January 1, he started getting bills for the wheelchair. Since we thought it was covered by Medicare, as they told us, we called to find out why he was getting bills. They old us that we should pay January and then they would credit February and we could keep the chair. We've continued to get invoices, I called to follow up and was told every time they saw the notes and would look into it. Now they are sending him to collections. I called about it and the representative told me they never said they would write off February and we needed to pay it and we should've known the wheelchair needed to be picked up when he was done with it. How would we know that if they never told us that? And now they are sending my father to collections and won't write off the February bill as they said they would. Their representative was extremely rude and abrupt. Customer service is awful. I couldn't be more disappointed in this company and wouldn't recommend anyone use it. Customer Service was very difficult to deal with on an obvious problem with a damaged unit, so it took forever (over 3 weeks) to get cooperation and to get the inevitable product replacement. We are talking about replacement of a damaged spring mattress on a hospital bed for a 98-year-old Assisted Living resident. However, in the end, the technician dispatched to do the replacement, Santiago, called on the way as requested and handled the job with efficiency and respect. read more

I think they know they are there only game in town for some of their services and they couldn't care less. It took 2 weeks to get a simple knee walker. Their excuse was that they didn't have my insurance information. I gave it to three times!! I had to call them on four occasions to follow up because it seems they don't know how to make an outgoing phone call. Then they claimed they had faxed paperwork to my doctor to complete before they could provide the walker. Orbit is extremely helpful getting a patient an electric wheelchair, but when something happens to it, it takes over a week to get service, and in the meantime the patient is stranded. Especially if they are physically unable to work a manual chair. There are no rentals available. A very unsafe situation, and a very unsympathetic company. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Three times we have called for service. The first time, we were advised that the scheduler would call us in 10 to14 working days to set up an appointment and the appointment would be w/in 2-3 weeks from then, 4-6 weeks for a repair to a mobility chair for someone who can't walk. It took approximately 5 weeks from the first call to get the chair repaired. The second call, gave the same response as to timing, when I asked to s/w a manager, I was told she was on maternity leave and there was no one else to speak with and the guy just laughed. Mobility chairs are not an emergency and we would just have to wait. We never received the call from the scheduler even after multiple follow ups, I finally was able to fix it myself. The third call, again, same timeline, it took 5 weeks for repair and they really don't care. The chair is only 6 months old. read more

My 82 year old mother was scheduled to return home from a nursing home on a Saturday morning. We had set an appointment with this company a week and a half before for them to drop off a hospital bed the day before. I found out 30 minutes before they closed that they had NOT brought the railings for the bed when they delivered it. I had just happened to call them as a follow-up. I was told they did not have the railings in stock and thus, did not deliver them. I asked them what we were supposed to do since my mom was coming home the next day. They said they couldn't do anything because they were going to close in 30 minutes. I asked to speak with a supervisor and no one returned my call. I called them back at 4:50 and a warehouse guy said they did have railings there but were the wrong size. I decided to actually go there and check. They did have a pair and I picked them up and then drove from Naperville to my mom's house in Elgin. If I hadn't actually picked up the railings myself, my mom would have had to stay at the nursing home for at least 4 more days. I called the company the following Monday and asked for some type of compensation for my time but was totally blown off by Aja (sp?) and the owner of the place. Unbelieveably, they called my mom 9 days later and said that they had the railings and were able to deliver them!! As others have said- do NOT deal with these people!! Hospital bed delivered and put together incorrectly by techs causing an arc that burned out motor to move bed up and down. Caused electrical outlet issue also. Tech admitted error while swearing over and over. Replacement motor ordered. According to office it has been received but they will not return calls from a week ago to schedule appointment to install. They even ignore request from Northwestern Medical staff to replace motor asap (guessing they don't care about business referrals from Northwestern). read more
