The technician, Santiago, arrived on time, was professional and courteous in setting up my mother's hospital bed.

He had already tried that and it was worse than our couch recliner. She suggested that renting a powerlift chair might be helpful. It was on the pricier side, but the only other idea she had. Well, we thought about over lunch and just decided to just purchase a chair. Terri showed us the options and let us just try out the chairs on our own time. We never felt rushed. It was obviously more than we originally thought of doing, but we are sure we won't regret it in the future. The only thing that didn't make us happy, and why this isn't four stars, was the price tag. We picked the chair we liked best & thought the price was what was on the tag. There were options below the big price, like heat & massage, which were things that could be added to the base. Oh, but the material that the chair used was on that list (which we didn't realize because it was not a common name). It was not in the large number on the price tag and added $900 to the price. We didn't know this until we were checking out. We do not blame Terri for this, but the company that thought this was a good idea. The tag should have had the final price, before taxes & delivery not the base price if you could buy it off of the floor like we did.

My husband and I are very proud foster-to-adopt parents of a gorgeous three year old daughter. She…read morehappens to be profoundly disabled and will be wheelchair bound for life. While our trusty minivan (we have three other kids--5, 4, and almost 2) was able to seat us all comfortably, travel was cumbersome at best. Her wheelchair did, in fact, fit in the back of the van, but that was if we weren't traveling with a stroller. Oh, and I couldn't lift it into the back by myself (it weighs over 83 lbs.). I'm certain you can see why this might pose a problem. Anyway, we knew it was time to start looking for a wheelchair-accessible conversion van. We called MobilityWorks in Plainfield and spoke with Nick Cortino. Nick invited us (along with our daughter) to come in and see what MobilityWorks had to offer and how MW could make our lives (and travel!) easier. During our appointment, Nick went out of his way to offer us numerous options. There was no pressure to buy anything, and absolutely no rush. We tried out a few minivans and realized that yes, in fact, we did need a full sized van in which to travel. We checked out a few of those, decided on criterion, and Nick set to work finding us the perfect van for our family. Before we left, Joe Canda (the general manager) came over, introduced himself to us, and thanked us profusely for coming in. Excellent touch. I was expecting the sales pitch then, but instead Joe just handed us a few of his business cards and told us to contact him at any time should we need any assistance. Our initial meeting went very well, and we left MW optimistic that we went to the right place. When we decided on a van out of the Milwaukee area, Nick arranged to have it sent to the Plainfield, IL location (at no charge to us). It was cleaned, serviced, and then Nick brought it our home (roughly 35 miles away) for a test drive. We loved it. We brought it straight to our mechanic for a thorough once-over and Nick was in no way "put out" by this action. Our mechanic found a few areas which needed attention and Nick assured us that MW would take care of them (and what they couldn't/weren't able to fix they would deduct from the final price). We decided to purchase the van and Nick arranged to have it delivered to our home (we signed/completed all of the paperwork in our dining room, as a matter of fact--no additional trips to Plainfield necessary). Since the van came with a DVD player, Nick even purchased our kids a movie of their choosing (Toy Story 3) and made sure it was in the player upon delivery! Since purchasing this van, we realized there was an issue with the remote start. Understanding the tremendous inconvenience of traveling back to Plainfield to remedy this issue, we are going to have the issue fixed out here and MW will compensate us accordingly. How's *that* for service?! In short, we couldn't be happier about our experience with MobilityWorks in Plainfield. If you are contemplating checking out their offerings for yourself or a loved one, do it! And ask for Nick (he's fantastic). Unless you abhor amazing customer service all the way around, you will not be disappointed.

Jim Mecha (or James), the owner, is a very childish person to deal with. I asked around, and it…read morereally appears to be the case that his "company" RAE Lifts, is potentially or at least in my opinion, a scam with people working for him that are also scammers, not professional, and do not have upfront pricing like their competitors. Google his name, he has more than a few lawsuits that have been filed against the "business". ALWAYS ask for a signed estimate before allowing any work to be done, from anyone, not just this company. You shouldn't be worried about surprise charges, and there are many other companies out there that are more professional than any of these people. Look for logos on shirts, and most importantly: Logos (not magnets) on their service van. If they do not have that, then you are dealing with a company that is up to RAE elevators standards, which are nonexistent or poor. I would avoid Mr. Mecha at all costs, just look at their reputation online. Jim, you have some soul-searching to do, you should think about your PAST ACTIONS & look into how to fix those, or else reviews such as this will continue to follow you online, I assure you of that. My policy is 10x, but in your case this will not stop until you make this right, so lets start that today.

Said he have a contractor coming over to discuss building a deck! Which will be the only way to have lift installed! Which I'm responsible to pay to have the deck built! This almost knocked me off my feet! No warning no heads up! So when the contractor arrived and quoted me a whopping $1,700 I immediately said Hell No! I immediately called Jim but his office man bill said he wasn't available... I tried calling Jim Two days straight... continued leaving messages for a return phone call... so finally realize Jim didn't have any intention on returning my call ... i left another message with his answering service.. To tell Jim if i didn't hear from him by the end of the day! i will file dispute with my credit card company! So a few hours later Jim finally called Back and angry and pissed off at me! he told me i didn't need to call him six times! Even though he never made any attempts to return my phone call! And more insult to injury! He didn't mention anything about having a deck built in order to have lift installed! Even though he came out to my home the day before and looked at the old lift. But still didn't say a word about any issues and more money until the of installation! The nerve to get angry at the customer for questioning his poor business practices and lack of communication! Still today i still haven't heard anything else from Jim! So my next step is the better business bureau or court! But I'm sure my credit card company will help fight this warwith the first class crooks! $5200 is too much money to sneeze at! And walk away from !!!! Now i see why Rae lifts have nothing but negative reviews!!! My only regret is... I'm sorry i didn't read slew of negative reviews before doing business with this god awful business!!! Now more stress in my life... that i definitely could do without! I'm handicap and still doesn't have the lift!

I worked with John in sales and even worked with Carlos (owner), both who assured me that the outside stairlift would be no problem. I committed to their quote and was told they'd get things rolling. Cut to a week later and no comms so I called them. John told me that they didn't understand the shape of my stairs ( I had called this anomaly out to both John and Carlos and was assured " no problem") and I even told them of another vendor who called out this exact concern! Icing in the cake...John claimed to have left a voicemail a week ago telling me this news. You guessed it! No voicemail, nothing on my call history suggesting they called, and possibly worst of all, no follow up call after the supposed voicemail. The frustrating thing was their excuse was that they looked at Google street view to make their decisions despite the fact that they had photos and dimensions available from the tech who made the initial visit! LAZY. As a newly disabled person this can only be described aS devastating. I lost a week where I could have been exploring other options. I also found out that there are people working in a business focused on helping the disabled who have lost any humanity they might have once had and see the disabled only as a commodity to fund their businexs. THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE. PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED $$$ TO SUPPORT THESE FOOLS!
