He had already tried that and it was worse than our couch recliner. She suggested that renting a powerlift chair might be helpful. It was on the pricier side, but the only other idea she had. Well, we thought about over lunch and just decided to just purchase a chair. Terri showed us the options and let us just try out the chairs on our own time. We never felt rushed. It was obviously more than we originally thought of doing, but we are sure we won't regret it in the future. The only thing that didn't make us happy, and why this isn't four stars, was the price tag. We picked the chair we liked best & thought the price was what was on the tag. There were options below the big price, like heat & massage, which were things that could be added to the base. Oh, but the material that the chair used was on that list (which we didn't realize because it was not a common name). It was not in the large number on the price tag and added $900 to the price. We didn't know this until we were checking out. We do not blame Terri for this, but the company that thought this was a good idea. The tag should have had the final price, before taxes & delivery not the base price if you could buy it off of the floor like we did.

My husband and I are very proud foster-to-adopt parents of a gorgeous three year old daughter. She…read morehappens to be profoundly disabled and will be wheelchair bound for life. While our trusty minivan (we have three other kids--5, 4, and almost 2) was able to seat us all comfortably, travel was cumbersome at best. Her wheelchair did, in fact, fit in the back of the van, but that was if we weren't traveling with a stroller. Oh, and I couldn't lift it into the back by myself (it weighs over 83 lbs.). I'm certain you can see why this might pose a problem. Anyway, we knew it was time to start looking for a wheelchair-accessible conversion van. We called MobilityWorks in Plainfield and spoke with Nick Cortino. Nick invited us (along with our daughter) to come in and see what MobilityWorks had to offer and how MW could make our lives (and travel!) easier. During our appointment, Nick went out of his way to offer us numerous options. There was no pressure to buy anything, and absolutely no rush. We tried out a few minivans and realized that yes, in fact, we did need a full sized van in which to travel. We checked out a few of those, decided on criterion, and Nick set to work finding us the perfect van for our family. Before we left, Joe Canda (the general manager) came over, introduced himself to us, and thanked us profusely for coming in. Excellent touch. I was expecting the sales pitch then, but instead Joe just handed us a few of his business cards and told us to contact him at any time should we need any assistance. Our initial meeting went very well, and we left MW optimistic that we went to the right place. When we decided on a van out of the Milwaukee area, Nick arranged to have it sent to the Plainfield, IL location (at no charge to us). It was cleaned, serviced, and then Nick brought it our home (roughly 35 miles away) for a test drive. We loved it. We brought it straight to our mechanic for a thorough once-over and Nick was in no way "put out" by this action. Our mechanic found a few areas which needed attention and Nick assured us that MW would take care of them (and what they couldn't/weren't able to fix they would deduct from the final price). We decided to purchase the van and Nick arranged to have it delivered to our home (we signed/completed all of the paperwork in our dining room, as a matter of fact--no additional trips to Plainfield necessary). Since the van came with a DVD player, Nick even purchased our kids a movie of their choosing (Toy Story 3) and made sure it was in the player upon delivery! Since purchasing this van, we realized there was an issue with the remote start. Understanding the tremendous inconvenience of traveling back to Plainfield to remedy this issue, we are going to have the issue fixed out here and MW will compensate us accordingly. How's *that* for service?! In short, we couldn't be happier about our experience with MobilityWorks in Plainfield. If you are contemplating checking out their offerings for yourself or a loved one, do it! And ask for Nick (he's fantastic). Unless you abhor amazing customer service all the way around, you will not be disappointed.
