The owner and the staff keep the equipment and facility in the cleanest condition of any gym I've ever been to. Everyone that works out there has a common goal, and it's not just a fashion show like some of the big box gyms in the area. If you want a quality gym, at a very reasonable price with unlimited 24/7 access, this is the gym for you!! The gym is never very busy, so workouts go quick because your not standing around waiting or having people trying to jump in on sets. I'm so glad I contacted Rod and became a member.

NEW Manager JUSTINE canceled my membership for wearing "The Rock" brand cut off workout shirt!…read more I've been a member at planet fitness in Appleton WI West for over 10 years and absolutely loved the atmosphere. That was until last week when a new "Manager" was hired. My 14 year old son and I were working out and she discriminated and harassed me, also went as far as calling the local Police to escort me out! (Humiliated) As I looked around others were wearing the same type and brand shirt which I made her aware of. She stated it looks different on you because it shows more of your chest, "this was discrimination" it's because I have a wider frame body! Unfortunately because of a single employee I'll be moving to another gym along with my wife and 4 children. If you're looking for a gym I would NOT recommend Planet Fitness Appleton WI West!!!!

Of course, when I got there, it happened to be the "last day" of a $1 down 7 day free trial, which I could supposedly cancel within the 7 days with no penalty charge. BUYER BEWARE. Bait and switch!!! Predatory business practice!! I was told "the annual maintenance fee will come out 60 days after signing" and the monthly dues wouldnt be charged until 30 days after signing. Those terms provided by one of their employees completely changed once I provided my ACH information. Any calls to corporate aren't staffed and they refer you to your local gym. They have stopped responding to me and have made unauthorized charges to my card. Pretty slimy. Nothing like trying to retain new guests, work with me, or even ask why I wanted to cancel in the first place! Take your business elsewhere! Hot yoga class was staffed by someone with limited experience. Barre class was staffed by a sub. Facilities are clean. Business ethics, basic decency, and responsiveness - abhorrent.

The place was remodeled in the last 6 months, but you'd never know. The new floor is already falling apart, and the layout makes no sense. And any time something like faulty equipment is pointed out to management, the response is always "no one ever tells me, I didn't know about that". Membership is obviously falling, days that used to be packed with gym goers seldom have more than a handful of people present.
