We are doing a complete renovation of a 1970's house.....Turns out it had aluminum wiring, yikes After a complete rewire, a friend turned us on to Orange Park Drywall Estimator Mitch arrived promptly and did a walk thru. Couple of days later, their crew arrived, on time. Hung new drywall where previously the paneling was in the family room. Then they repaired all the damage from the rewire. The finishers did an amazing job. Next day the ceiling crew arrived, got rid of all the popcorn bubble ceilings and replaced with new "double knock down" treatment. Had requested to have someone come out to my house for a quote to have popcorn ceilings removed and textured. Appt was somewhat set up, was told that the person would call when on the way. Never got a call, he just showed up and I was stuck on the other side of town. He would have known if he called. Got home, he measured and proceeded to tell me he would email the quote. Asked for my email address, repeated it back to me and have yet to get any info, and it's been a week. Of course, I got another reputable company out and gave me a quote on the spot. Unless you are in the drywall business or have lived thru a remodel, the average person really doesn't have any idea what is involved with removing popcorn off a ceiling and some drywall replacement in a kitchen! I felt I had a scene from"Dexter" going on with all the plastic to catch all the dust and debris...omg! Jared and his team showed up, had the materials, were able to adjust to unexpected delays (needed electrician when found out the soffits DID have electric lines in it and yes I needed more drywall replaced when cabinets came down and it was molded back there) and finished this job in two days!! We just completed having our popcorn ceilings removed and knockdown texture and paint applied. We couldn't be happier, the team arrived on day 1 and spent a full day masking, removing fixtures and grates, sealed everything with plastic wrap, to include our crown moldings, day two removed the popcorn, applied texture and paint even to cathedral high ceilings. The entire team were skilled at their jobs, it shows in the finished project. Minimal clean up afterwards, a job well done. I have renovated numerous homes and find myself removing popcorn ceilings and applying texture to a fair number. I called Orange park drywall to set up an appointment to get an estimate on removing the popcorn off the ceiling in a bedroom,hallway and laundry room, and redoing them with a more textured style. I'm use to dealing with contractors, our house is older and always needs updating, so I was pleasantly surprised when they quoted me over the phone,which gave me an idea of how much it was going to cost, more or less depending on the size of the areas. Due to my busy schedule, I was able to get the work done in just a few hours on a Saturday. The guys showed up, and immediately began taping plastic from the crown molding covering everything in the rooms, I DIDNT need to move anything!! they even covered the floors throughout their paths in my home to avoid getting any debris on anything which made me feel more at ease since my house is a NO SHOE zone. Overall TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with this company, specifically the owner. Overall workmanship was a 3 star, but customer service and the condition my home was left in was absolutely unacceptable (ZERO STARS). Debris and damage was left throughout the home, personal items were broken and the crew and owner did not follow the agreed upon direction and ended up patching and smearing drywall mud all over every wall in my house! We had to repaint the entire home after we had our popcorn ceilings removed, not to mention the damage that was caused by the length of time the tape and plastic were left up. The job was originally bid as a 4 day 3 phase project. The crew convinced us they could complete the entire job in one day. "we do it every day, no problem!" they told us... they bit off more than they could chew and we ended up paying the price. We had several areas of our home that we specifically requested drywall tape and seam touch ups... instead of doing just those 2 rooms and hallway, they did all the rooms and hallways in the house. Their offer to resolve their error was to come scrub the dried compound off the walls... are you kidding? All of this 2 weeks prior to us putting our home on the market... which obviously didn't happen. On the last day of work the owner offered a 10% discount to cover the damages and painting which we accepted. The next week he starts contacting me asking for the remaining 10% of the payment! After yelling at me over the phone and later yelling at my wife I decided he must need the money more than me. We felt threatened and are completely unsatisfied with the work, and more importantly the professionalism of the owner. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY... YOU WILL LIKELY REGRET IT. read more

I used these guys in June 2018 for all my front rooms when we tore down a couple walls and decided it was time to get rid of our 24 year old popcorn ceilings. They did a fantastic job and were very professional in every way, from Greg's initial walk through and giving me the quote to the actual job and cleanup. A couple days later I noticed a spot or two that looked like they were icicles or something. They came out right away and showed me how to remove them, a very common after effect that is easily removed. I told him we'd call back when we were ready to do Phase 2, the bedrooms. They came today and as expected, did a great job. We love the look of all our new ceilings in the whole house. Next up, the garage in a couple of months. They have a different option from knock down that will hold up much better in the heat of the garage and looks very sharp. I highly recommend Greg and his staff. They are very concerned about customer satisfaction upon completion of the job. read more

My initial meeting with Mitch was very good. He came on time, looked over the place, and gave me a quote. They have a $400 cleaning fee that I declined. Mitch told me I may have a little paint touch up from where the tape ripped the paint off and dust clean up. The house is empty so this didn't seem to be an issue. What became an issue is the 3+ hours I had to spend scraping all the extra knockdown off the face of the walls and then paint it. Also, I was told the plastic slipped down while they were spraying and there was nothing they could do to stop the overspray. When I was visibly upset about how sloppy it looked, the lead man got big attitude with me. He then used mineral spirits to clean it off my walls taking the paint off with it. I didn't realize at the time that he didn't need to use mineral spirits. After he left I went over it with a wet rag and got a lot of the remaining knockdown off. There was nothing I could do about the missing paint, except repaint. There was also a very visible hole in the wall that wasn't there prior to their arrival. When I questioned the hole, he said you know in your contract it says you may have to do some touch up painting. I told him I understood that but I didn't know I would have to patch holes. He didn't want to, but he did patch the hole. I won't recommend OP Drywall. read more

"IT'S JUST DRYWALL," so said Greg Holloway, owner of Orange Park Drywall (OPD). We felt apprehension about using OPD since they claim they can remove the popcorn ceiling texture in our 2000 sq ft home and install knock-down texture in one day. However, not only did OPD have consistently great reviews, an acquaintance of ours had used them for the same work and more, and raved about them. So, to our detriment, we hired them. The photos we've included in this review pretty much tell the story. Judge for yourself. Our neighbors who saw our house after their work gasped in horror, as did the people to whom we showed these photos. Four workers showed up on time. We couldn't remain in our house for obvious reasons. When finished, the floors and walls were a mess, our new 3K leather sofa had joint compound splatters and dust all over it. Some light fixtures were taped up, others dropped down (and broken). We discovered one broken light cover in a closet in an adjoining room. The owner did reimburse us for it. Bifold doors were vertically placed near their tracks but not re-installed. When we asked about the drips along the ceiling edges, we were told the finisher would be out the next day to take care of those. No call, no visit. Two follow-up calls made by us, but to no avail. We did hear from OPD's owner once we sent photos and an angry email. OPD's owner did come out to personally review the work, and he did redo the ceiling on a bathroom. He also told us that the work shown in the photos could be touched up in an hour. What do you think? Also good to know is that OPD defends its use of masking tape, which will lead to significant paint loss. The argument is that the masking tape adheres better than the blue painter's tape. Also good to know that the workers helped themselves to the use of our sound system while they worked. Without permission. The owner is a nice guy but his standards for workmanship fall below ours. Do they fall below yours? Look at the photos. The problems with OPD are: 1) lack of communication at all levels, 2) lack of oversight by owner, and 3) shoddy workmanship with an uncaring attitude by the workers. read more

hey destroyed our home and there was rubble everywhere. Had to come back 3 times and were consistently late. Careless workmanship, didn't clean up after themselves and there was popcorn ceiling and plaster on everything from my babies crib and clothes, all of our clothes in the closet, all over my headboard, pillows and bed, they left black hand prints on our doors. They left plaster on our new door knobs, they threw my house rugs into our garden, we found all of our bottles of wine and alcohol in the dishwasher, they got plaster on the piano legs and over sprayed on the walls. Also, the curtains were full of debris, they got plaster all over my quilts and linens in the linen closet and it dried on so when I mentioned it, he said 'wash it'. We now have to have our entire house repainted bc they didn't carefully take down the tape. Every furniture surface from the couch, recliner, dressers, tv's, all kitchen furniture had debris. The second time they came back they didn't even tape anything off and debris was everywhere again! Then they had to come back a third time bc they don't finish the 2nd time l. After we showed them all the pictures, they offered to give us 300$, which they never gave us, but who cares. Total nightmare, wish we wouldn't have done this project. For the money we spent and the time we had to take off of work and the appointments we had to cancel bc they just got there when they felt like it, it was stressful to say the least. read more

Okay, ladies (and gentlemen too) this review is to help you out. If you are seeking an estimate from Orange Park Drywall, beware for a complete lack of respect and arrogance from the owner, Greg Holloway. As any homeowner seeking to be informed before making a purchase, I was very inquisitive about his process for the job. With each question, he would stop me from speaking, and state, "Stop right there". He barely let me communicate to the point that I just stopped speaking and let him do his estimate so that he could get out of my house. He will also give you his disclaimers MULTIPLE times. He is very proud that he only does drywall, and he will only guarantee his work with the ceiling. If he damages your walls, that's on you. If he messes up your house, that's on you. He prides himself on finishing the job in a day, and he explained to me that others will take several days because they are factoring in the clean up. He said he does not clean up- other than light vacuum. Finally, his estimate was ridiculous. His cost was $1.80 per sq.ft and that doesn't include closets. He charges more for closets. Why? Is he up charging for the inconvenience of an overweight employee? The ceiling work doesn't change. Finally, anytime an estimator/owner rolls up in a tricked out vehicle, you know they are gouging customers to get their fancy rides. Oh, one more thing, he's not associated with the Better Business Bureau. Someone that has the length of experience that he says that he has, should be proud of his work and to be associated with the Better Business Bureau. *After posting, I checked the link.
