I've been to Orange Cycle a few times prior to actually making a bike purchase there. I finally decided to buy a bike only recently. During the pandemic, there are some changes to regular retail shopping- you have to order online and they do curbside pick up. I had a few questions before making my big purchase so I gave them a call first to make sure they had what I wanted in stock but also assembled. I spoke to a gentleman named Howard who was very helpful. I knew that they were super busy , but he took the time and asked questions to better assist me and I did not feel rushed as at all which I most appreciated it. I made my purchase online, and picked up my bike the next day. The several associates that I interacted with were super nice and friendly. It was hot outside and I'm sure everyone was feeling miserable from the weather, but everyone was still really nice. It was closing time and I was one of the last customers that was helped. I was trying to mount my bike onto the bike rack on my car and was having trouble- I found out that my bike rack was not correct for my step through bike. (I bought the rack prior to buying the bike). Two employees who were leaving for the day biked by me and stopped, asking if I needed help. One of the guys said it was a quick fix and I needed an adapter. He actually went back in and helped me purchase it, and helped me mount my bike! I was so grateful because I just felt like an idiot since it was my first time mounting a bike onto a car. Thank you to everyone at Orange Cycle who made my buying experience great! read more

If there is an issue with fixing the bike you offer a solution and provide customer service not tell me "in not touching that" and have a rude attitude by saying "I don't get paid enough for this" as you go get you manager. I was in this store for the last time on Black Friday. I was going to spend at least $200 and my friend would have probably spent at least that much. But a salesman ruined that for your company. He repeatedly told us that if we were sweaty we could not try on clothes and should come back another time! I am going to assume he said this because we had bike helmets on and had ridden to the BIKE store. As my friend hung up two T-shirt's he touched them and said we cannot put them back on the rack... she looked at him and said " I did not try those on". Explain to me why he said that??? First. we live in Florida where most people are sweaty 75% of the time. I could be as sweaty driving to the store as I may have been on this day! I love supporting local neighborhood businesses. Unfortunately, I've had multiple poor service experiences at Orange Cycle, along with an unreliable bike that was purchased from them brand new. Not recommended - at all. Ordered a bike online for my son. Received an email that it was ready for pick-up. Went to pick it up. Waited over 30 minutes for anyone to assist - despite letting them know I was there for an online order pickup. Associate finally helped me and within 2 minutes returned to tell me the bike wasn't ready. He said the email I received was due to a "system error". He assured me they'd prioritize assembling my son's bike and would call me as soon as it was ready - likely the next day. Cool! I waited three days. No call. We eventually called them. We were told it was ready. No reason for why we didn't receive a call as promised. We picked-up the bike, and the breaks seemed off. The rear breaks were not stopping the bike. About a month later, the rear bike cable popped off. My wife took in the bike to get it fixed. She asked if it was under warranty since it was brand new and we noted the problem when we originally picked it up. The associate said no, basically blamed the issue on my son, and then said there would be a $30 charge to fix it and we would need to leave the bike with them to complete the repair. They said they'd call as soon as it was fixed. Again - never received a call. My wife followed-up days later, same experience. It was ready, no reason for not receiving a call, no apology. read more

Called last weekend to see if I could get a good trade on my Electra beach cruiser. I think I rode it five times in the eight years I owned it. Nubs still on the tires, garage kept, looked new. They said sure, great -- bring it in as those are in demand. My teenage son needed a mountain bike so figured we might get $80-$100 for mine. We bought it at Orange Cycle originally so expected to be treated well. So we brought my bike and they inspected it while we looked at a bike for my son. Found one for around $500. So we went back to the bike mechanic, and they said they could only give me $35. Seriously?? I didn't know we were at a pawn shop or car dealership. We were so mad we pulled the bike out of their repair area and took it back home. Hubby sold it on Facebook Marketplace within 24 hours for $110. Bought son a new, good quality mountain bike at Academy Sports. Will never shop Orange Cycle again. read more

And finally, DIDN'T solve the problem, then closed on Sunday -- THANK GOD! :) Next day -- Sunday... Adrenaline Bike Works: 1 trip to unique shop on Mt Dora $8.56 (!) quick release handle $0 (!) found and installed the right size spacers to make it work with my existing seat clamp. ~2 mins of taking pics of amazing wood slat routes & beer kegs at the shop while repair tech found the spacers to make new handle fit *DID* solve the problem Guys, there's no comparison. My advice to Orange Cycle: If I were the head person running the shop, to better serve my community, I would seriously consider remaining closed the rest of the days of the week, and not just on Sundays. If Orange Cycle remained closed throughout the week, Orlando area bike enthusiasts could skip the extra step of *trying* to be a customer at Orange Cycle, and instead go straight to dealing with real professionals at other shops. I just brought the bike back for it's free 30 day tuneup. Justin, my assigned service tech, explained the inner workings of my gear shift mechanism after I reported some stickiness. He did a quick yet thorough checkup and tune, gave me some tips on how to clean the bike without compromising the mechanical parts, and then had me go on a quick test ride. Great improvement! Not sure how their local business is but I can say their online store is a complete joke. Ordered a part on a Saturday to give them time to process it and ship it out early the next week. It is now the NEXT Wednesday (aka over 11 days past my order now) and my part has JUST NOW left Jacksonville. Now obviously part of that problem is the postal service, but Orange Cycle is definitely scraping pennies by using the cheapest form of bulk mail they can. I have literally ordered parts from California and JAPAN and received them in less than 5 days at no extra charge. When I asked about my package their response was basically "pay for expedited shipping next time.". Yeah let me just pay almost 15 bucks to ship a 30 dollar part. That makes sense. Almost every modern business can abide by a 3-5 day shipping window. Get with the program or get filing for bankruptcy. read more

My boyfriend and I bought bikes from Orange Cycle a few weeks ago and it was a great experience!! This shop has a huge selection of bikes, accessories, gear and an additional warehouse in the back of extra goodies. Jason helped us out and he is the man! I really don't know a lot about bikes, but I told him what I planned to mostly use mine for and my budget and he pulled out several bikes to show me. He started mentioning things like suspension, gears, etc. and I said "tell me what I need to know about these things to choose the right bike" and he broke it down for me just like that. I was able to go to their lot in the back and test ride the one I liked, and then he looked up what colors they had available and let me peek at them in the box and then said he would have it built within the hour. Next stop was accessorizing, and Jason helped me compare all the different basket systems (there is a lot more choices then you would think), water bottle holders and they put them on for me right then. Something I really respected was that we wanted to buy a bike rack for my car, but the trunk on the Rogue has a lip on it and Jason refused to put one on because he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't break, even though we were willing. Instead he recommended me getting a trailer hitch and coming back and he referred me to a local shop for that. Jason also gave us some helpful pamphlets on bike care, showed us how to take off the tires to fit it in my car and said that the first tune up in 30 days is on the house! A really nice surprise was that a few weeks later, we got a postcard from Jason at Orange Cycle saying he hoped we were loving the new bikes. I took my bike for a tune up. When I went to get it, I was intending to ride back all the way to the east side of Oviedo. The tire went flat a few blocks away from the store. The store was already closed for the day so I had to take it to a near by store (David's World Cycle). At David's cycle, they told me they had installed the tube on the tire incorrectly and puncture it so I had to get a new one. Needless to say, I had no choice if I wanted to get back home. I called Orange cycle the next day and they refused to refund me or even apologize for their mistake. I will never go back to Orange cycle again. This place is my jam. Got started cycling in 2009. I hit a lot of stores when I was shopping for a bike, and found the perfect fit at OC. The people who work there are great, and the selection is top notch, so it's kept me going back for supplies, fittings, clothing, etc. I'll give you an example. A few years ago I was training for the Cross Florida and started having some issues with my back wheel. Because of all the road construction in the area, I kept breaking spokes, and the week before the ride found damage on the wheel. The mechanic I was working with set me up with a "loaner" wheel - so I wouldn't miss the ride - while they custom built a wheel out of stronger components. Just up the street from Dave's Cycle World in College Park, you will find Orange Cycle; a much larger building that's hard to miss if you're on Edgewater. Although the word cycle is in the name, they sell a lot more than just bikes. They are more of a fitness oriented bicycle dealer. You will find every sort of accessory and part you could ever want in relation to this two-wheeled mode of transportation. The amount of bikes they have in stock is very impressive. Especially their comfort bike selection. Not only do they have the standard ones, but they have some retro-inspired ones that were just a pleasure to look at. They sell the baskets as well to go along with them. Their bike apparel section was also very large. I am sure you'd be able to find just the right outfit for your next bike outing. And in order to stay refueled for that outing, they carry a full line of Clif products ranging from bars to shocks to powder. I am a big fan of this brand so I was happy to see that they are represented in such a well traversed store. And well traversed it was--on a random Wednesday afternoon, the store was packed. Even though it was buzzing with customers, I was asked on 2 occasions if I needed assistance. Thankfully for them I didn't but I was happy they stopped to ask. As I was headed out, I happened to notice a shelf full of an important biking staple--water bottles. These were unique though. When I left home that morning I forgot to remove my aerobar padding and the wind flowing over my car helped me out :-( In a panic I called my local shop and they referred me to O.C. WOWED: I entered the shop during their spring sale and was wowed by the amount of people in the store. Now let's get this straight... This is not a small shop! It is huge... no wait... it is extremely S P A C E O U S ! ! ! Best of all they had the padding I needed! I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THE SALE PRICES: I even had the mechanics install new bar wrap, a new computer (Hey it was on sale!) and hook me up with a last minute tune-up, just to ensure I didn't miss a thing. There were so many people inside that my fiancee got a bit freaked out, and stepped outside for a bit before finding out that the cycling clothing that she liked was on sale as well... LOL! I never write reviews, but I had such a great experience at Orange Cycle that I have to share... Jerome helped me find the bike that I ended up purchasing the same day. I know very little about bikes and am also super picky. He was extremely patient and very very knowledgeable, teaching me the ins and outs of the bikes they had in the store. He let me test out between 7-10 bikes (I lost count lol) in the parking lot and kept finding more options for me that he thought I'd like. He was not pushy at all...Just extremely helpful and he went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. When I finally made my choice he also installed 2 items I purchased onto my new bike.
