I don't like leaving bad reviews, but my experience with Advanced Cycles Orlando was extremely frustrating. I purchased a brand new Pinarello Dogma frame and paid the invoice on November 19. It didn't ship until December 6, and after 3 days with no tracking info, I contacted the sales rep Gustavo and asked to cancel the transaction. He told me it was canceled and that I'd receive my refund within 3-5 business days. That never happened. Instead, I was later told they "didn't cancel it" because they were supposedly waiting for parts. This was confusing because I purchased a new frame, not a custom build. After multiple delays and mixed information, I finally got a call saying the order can't be returned and that it would be shipped out soon. The communication felt like constant excuses and contradictions. To make things worse, the manager Fabricio was extremely rude, condescending, and made me feel like I was the problem -- when I was simply trying to cancel an order that they said was canceled. When the package finally arrived, the hardware kit was missing important pieces needed for installation, which is unacceptable for something sold as "brand new." I did contact my credit card company because I paid for a new product that arrived incomplete. Please be careful with this shop. read more

Where do I start if I could give zero stars I would. $850 on what should be a quality bicycle is nothing but junk. The chain has fallen off the front sprocket for different times the crew at advanced cycles thought at first that the front sprocket was bent and tried to straighten it, causing nothing but further issues then put bottom bracket on the bicycle. I did not purchase a Frankenstein bicycle with different parts. I purchased a new bicycle and expected to work as so as expected, but I didn't get anything close to expectation with specialized and advanced cycles. Nothing here, but disappointments. Even after receiving a replacement bicycle, I continue to have the same issue with the chain falling off the front sprocket buyers beware save your hard earned money. Do not spend it here rather yet you will receive the same quality at Walmart target or any of your other discount stores stay far away from advanced cycles, there's nothing advanced about it. read more

Super happy and impressed with Advanced Cycles. Not only do I get all my cycling needs and services done there but I also just purchased my 12year old a Scott Aspect. While in the shop we had full attention from the mechanic and shop owner and my son was given a 101 on the bike, eye ball fitting and he was able to take the bike outside for a ride to come back in and be readjusted. I have never had an issue with just walking in for questions or quick service on my Fuji Altamira and the turn around is pretty impressive. I would like to echo the review above that gave a 1 star and cited very bad treatment of customers. I also had a similar experience when I went into Advanced Cycles Bike Shop. I found them to have this arrogance toward their customers that is extremely rude and not conducive to repeat business. I'm amazed that not every local business owner views anyone who walks through their doors as a potential sale -- now or in the future -- regardless of what they want, their level of experience with bicycles, or what they say. It's time to get new tires and service my bike...I am not a huge enthusiast, but I do ride approx. 50 miles per week. Unfortunately, my experience with this shop mirrors what Local P. and Britt C. said. I don't want to go as far to say the owners were rude, but I get the sense they could care less if I visit their business, particularly the younger and shorter/trim latin guy...smug and arrogant. The most disturbing occurrence had to do with my bike seat. I am the only one who uses my bike, so my adjustments were done years ago and never change. When I went to get my bike the last time they serviced it, the seat shaft looked worn and greasy with adjustment marks, as if it had been adjusted regularly. I asked if they mistakenly changed my seat, but they said no. I ended up accepting their response since I have no photo's showing what it looked like prior to my service visit, but I left the shop with a feeling that my seat was switched somehow. Once I got home and tried the bike, the seat didn't feel familiar... I do not think they deliberately did something with my bike seat, but I'd like to fully put my questions and concerns to rest. Rather than dismissing my concerns, the owner really needed to step up and deal with this matter in an effective and customer service oriented manner. Shaming a customer for having serious questions about their personal property is not smart business. After several attempts to reboot my opinion and experience with this shop, I decided to move on and re-establish ties to the much less convenient shop in College Park. read more

Went to the other guys for a repair. They told me to pick a color for a new bike that didn't have the same equipment as mine. Didn't make any sense. Just wanted to make a quick sale I guess. They didn't even touch my bike. Looked at some reviews and saw that Advanced had a good rating. Totally different experience. They immediately took my bike for a test ride and said all I needed was a tune up and new grip shifts. All in under $100. Very happy with their service and would recommend them. read more

I find that this shop gives excellent customer service. I've spent well over $10,000 on my $15,000 bike here. If they don't have what I'm looking for, they'll get it or explain to me why I should or shouldn't get it. I do business at all the bike shops in town (spreading the wealth to all the local bike shops). I compete in cycling and I find the best prices here (especially on my large ticket items), and the best service after the sale here. I just received a bike fit, after riding 20 years on an oversized bike from my college racing team. I have even more power seated than I thought possible. I run two businesses of my own. Decently priced & friendly staff. They brought my bike back from the dead. It had been not used in years & needed some TLC to get it back up & running. $130 to get a full tune up, new discs, tubes, chain... Pretty much everything lol. I was happy with with cost & the turn around time. Although they didn't test/ride the bike before sending it back home with me. The gears didn't all work & needed to be sent back to the shop. Not sure what they did the 2nd time around but they fixed it without a charge. Other than having to take it back in the 2nd time, a good experience & will be a return customer. read more

I visited this bike shop a couple of times. I was looking to purchase 2 bikes, one for my girlfriend and one for myself. Both times the Customer Service was terrible. I do not have names to share, but that's because the first time I visited, I received no attention from workers. The second time, I was actually insulted by a worker. He specifically said "I was a mess" because my hat fell off while bending over to look at a bike and laughed at me behind my back with his co-worker as I was browsing, YOU DON'T DO THAT TO CUSTOMERS! I moved here from South Florida not knowing much about cycling in Central Florida. I'm very picky about who works on my bike due to bad experiences in the past. Unfortunately the bike shops close to my house did not meet my standards until I found Advanced Cycles. They are a 25 minute drive with about $10 in tolls, but worth every minute and every dollar. They're extremely knowledgeable about all types of bikes and very friendly if you just want to hang out to talk about bike stuff, which is something that I can do all day. They've helped me get great deals on bike parts and their mechanic service is second to none. They carry all major brands and if something is not in Stock, they'll go out of their way to get it for you. I'm extremely happy that I've found advanced cycles. Without question the best bike shop in Central Florida. After several years "off the saddle" I decided it was time to get back on the game! After visiting several bike shops in the area, I found out my friend and former co-worker had opened Advanced-Cycles with his partner Laz. The first time I walked into the shop, as I started to walk around, I was greeted by Laz with "Good morning sir, how are you? Let me know if you need any assistance."No pressure, no arrogance, no attitude, no looking down on me, just simply giving me space and time to check the place out. Wow, what a difference from the other shops!!! After several minutes of looking around, I approached Laz and proceeded to "bombard him with questions." Mind you he still did not know, at the time, who I am or that I am a good friend of his partner. Laz was so professional and polite and with the patience of a saint. He answered all my questions and concerns accurately and truthfully ( I'll be honest, I did ask him some tricky questions to test his knowledge and accuracy) he passed with flying colors! But what really blew my mind is while Laz and I were chatting a few other customers walked in and required different services, such as flat repairs, cassette installations, gear,chains, brakes adjustments, etc. The staff is so efficient! They handled all these other customers without skipping a beat (customers with adjustment issues or in need of advice were not charged). I never witness such quality of customer service before! In my experience, many shops will charge you $10.00 to install a cassette and $15.00 for a gear or brake adjustment, these are customers who did not so much as purchase an energy gel from the shop! What a way to show somebody they appreciate your business. Eventually, I did let Laz know I am a good friend of his partner and I thanked him. I told him how impressed I was. He simply replied with a smile and said "This is the way we treat everybody! You're more than just a potential customer you are family and a friend." Excellent customer service, price, and quality. Ok granted it was just a tube in a tire. Not a $4000 bike purchase which can be done at this place easily. However they were friendly and fast. I manage a shop that does work on customers vehicles and this gave me the feeling of being important and the price was cheap. Everywhere else wanted 20-30 to replace a tube!? The staff always greets me when I visit the store and the knowledge is second to none - shop owner, Laz, really knows everything about a bike, how to fit to you and/or fix any problem you could be having. Shop mechanic, Shawn, can make the impossible possible. If the shop doesn't have what you are looking for - just a simple request will have it delivered within days. Customer service is top notch as well as all the best bike brands. I used to ride a Cervelo, which I purchased out of town and when the fork cracked, Advanced came to the rescue and helped warranty it with Cervelo. Getting me out of a jam really solidified me as a loyal customer. I now ride a Focus Max and while I liked my Cervelo - LOVE my Focus! You could not ask for a better group! Everyone, from the owner, Laz, to every person I have dealt with, has been fantastic. All very genuine, know their stuff, and don't try to BS you. They listen, offer quality advice and products, and stand behind them. The lifetime free service is a nice touch as well. Plus, it's legit! I am an avid cyclist and recently moved to the Orlando area. One of the hardest things about moving was losing my local bike shop. As fate would have it, a nipple broke, promptly after I arrived in Orlando, on my DT Swiss wheels. I shopped around the various local shops and was unimpressed with all of the shops I visited until I visited Advanced. I immediately felt at home when Claudio warmly greeted me and offered his assistance. There was virtually no wait time for my repair and the fee was quite modest for the quality of work I know I received. I also noticed an incredible selection of road bikes from entry level to full blown cycling addict - they have the right bike for you and your budget. On top of all of the service and selection, the staff was extremely helpful in providing information on local rides and clubs to get involved in group rides. I really wanted to like this place, but their technical abilities on working on a bike are bad. They don't check the gears during a tune-up. In fact, then don't even ride the bike after fixing, because I got my bike back with a crooked front wheel. They didn't even take the time to align it. Tire pressure is not maxed when getting it back. I went in for a broke gear and got the bike back with the same gears broke. Tire was put on that was too small in the back and probably caused the rim to bend. read more
