My kid started group lesson with Coach Alex about two months ago. The best part of his program is he limits his coach-student ratio 1 to 5 and runs his group lesson like a semi-private lesson. He is particular about proper strokes and gives constant reminders to his students during the group lesson. In my opinion, you don't get this from city group lessons. Alex is an excellent tennis coach. My son, who has not played before, started taking one-on-one lessons with Coach Alex twice a week about 3 months ago, and has improved steadily over this time. Alex has a great sense of humor and a good rapport with my son, and can motivate him even on days when he only has iPad on his mind. My son is the same age as Alex's younger son, so Alex has a lot of practice teaching young kids. On the days my son needs a break earlier, Alex also coaches me for 10 or 15 minutes so I can relearn the basics. Alex works patiently with my son to develop his fundamental technique, to give him a good foundation to build his future play on. This approach works better than many tennis courses, which crams the basics over a number of sessions so that these skills can be chalked off as learned, only for the basics to be replaced by bad habits in subsequent play.
