Alex is good with kids as well as adults for teaching tennis. He has very good observation and knows how to coach you into right direction if you are looking to improve your tennis skills. I have taken his private lesson for 5 months now and the amount of progress I have made is tremendous and most importantly, i got better and am playing better to win some matches. My 6 year old son is also taking his private lessons and have learned how to play tennis. I would recommend Alex for any tennis coaching needs!! read more

Coach Alex teach a really great foundation and technique in tennis that allow me to improve within 3 months of training. I started pick up tennis earlier in the year (with zero understanding of proper tennis game) and within 3 months of training i was able to start playing pickup game with 3.5-4 club rating. I highly recommend everyone from kids to adult to try to have a lesson with him. read more

My kid started group lesson with Coach Alex about two months ago. The best part of his program is he limits his coach-student ratio 1 to 5 and runs his group lesson like a semi-private lesson. He is particular about proper strokes and gives constant reminders to his students during the group lesson. In my opinion, you don't get this from city group lessons. My son took Irvine city group lessons prior to Coach Alex and the student coach ratio is too big for my liking. Coach Alex charges more but you also get more from his lessons. By the way, his 9 year old son hits forehands harder than most 4.0 players in my USTA league. read more

Alex is very professional and good at teaching kids. He knows how kids learn and when to teach them what technique. My daughter worked with him for over a month and we've seen big improvement. Her strokes and movement look much more like a real player now. read more

Alex is an excellent tennis coach. My son, who has not played before, started taking one-on-one lessons with Coach Alex twice a week about 3 months ago, and has improved steadily over this time. Alex has a great sense of humor and a good rapport with my son, and can motivate him even on days when he only has iPad on his mind. My son is the same age as Alex's younger son, so Alex has a lot of practice teaching young kids. On the days my son needs a break earlier, Alex also coaches me for 10 or 15 minutes so I can relearn the basics. Alex works patiently with my son to develop his fundamental technique, to give him a good foundation to build his future play on. This approach works better than many tennis courses, which crams the basics over a number of sessions so that these skills can be chalked off as learned, only for the basics to be replaced by bad habits in subsequent play. We are so glad to have Alex recommended to us by a fellow parent at school. Tip to parents when your kids are taking lessons with Coach Alex: Let him coach, and pick up the balls your kids are hitting all over the court. It's pretty good exercise for you, especially as your kids improve, and lets your kids focus on learning tennis. read more

Alex is great coach, know how to work with kids and help them improve tennis skills fast

The coach is good about making sure kids have proper form for forehands and backhands so they do not develop bad habits. Highly recommend!

My son has been taking Tennis lessons with Coach Alex Venidis for more than 6 months now and I am very fortunate to have him as Tennis Coach for my son. We started with group class with him but soon I could see the progress in my son's game. Alex pays attention to each and every kid in the group and changes his coaching style as per each kid's learning pace. The most important aspect of his coaching is, his focus on the right technique and drills on the basics of the game. He makes sure that you are hitting each and every ball with right technique, ensuring deliberate practice. He not only explains "why" and "how" of the technique to kids but also to parents, so someone like me who barely knows tennis gets better understanding of the game. He is very friendly, approachable and jovial. My son always look forward to his tennis class. He is now doing 1 private and 1 semi- private lesson with Alex and I see big improvement in his game and most importantly, he is loving the game. Coach Alex is passionate about Tennis and has really high standards of coaching. I highly recommend Coach Alex if you are looking for a Solid Coach who can help you get your game to the next level. read more

My son has improved considerably while coaching under Coach Alex since last 1 year. He is a very patient, diligent and encouraging person. Besides his solid tennis drills, he is an astute coach who gives holistic advice on how to leverage strengths to sharpen one's game while also working with on aspects that need improvement! Honestly, his passion for coaching and building confidence in his students shows in many ways such as prepping tips before tournaments, scheduling an extra session just before school tryouts day, adjusting weekly schedules around other student activities. What can I say, we just feel incredibly lucky to have found him! read more

I've been coached by Alex for a couple of months now. He is very detailed on his instructions and he makes sure your tennis foundation is very solid so we can improve our tennis skills the right way. He is not just a ball feeder, he really wants you to learn. If you are looking for a great coach you found him with Alex Venidis. read more

I took tennis instruction from Coach Alex and I highly recommend him. I had shoulder replacement a few years back and wanted to take up tennis again going into retirement in a few years. I was interested in being more fit and playing a better game. I found his profile on YELP. I liked what other clients had to say about him. He responded quickly and fit me in to a time slot that worked with my schedule. I did not have any updated equipment but he gave some solid advice on what kind of racquet might work best for me. Although I had played tennis in high school, so many things have changed since then. Techniques and equipment are so much more advanced now and he was great at explaining how to get the most out of my moves and game. The lessons were challenging yet reasonable to follow and perform. Alex cuts to the chase- he gives instructions that squeeze the most out of practice time. I feel satisfied in the progress I made and am now able to play tennis with friends. read more

Alex is a fantastic coach! I haven't played in over decades... and he was patient and very detailed in his instructions... getting me back in the game very quickly! I highly recommend! read more

Alex was fantastic. We signed up a large group of kids who were for the most part beginners. He made it FUN. These group of kids enjoyed the instruction, the exercises, and time with Alex. He is FANTASTIC with kids. We are signing up again this summer! read more

Alex is an amazing coach that is highly dedicated to the sport. We been taking our daughter for more than 6 month and definitely we can tell the improvement plus she truly enjoy his couching... Thank you Alex!! read more

I and my 4 year old son have been taking classes with Alex for more than 6 months. I find myself incredibly lucky to have found a coach like him. Alex is a master at refining your technique and going through the nuances of it. Tennis is so much easier on your body when you know the right way to hit the ball. In this age of topspin tennis when every other coach is telling you to brush the ball as hard as you can, Alex dares to be different and gets your basics right. My 4 year old son and other kids that take classes from him keep amazing me with the way they hit the ball. If you really want to learn the way the top pros hit the ball, look no further and call Alex! read more

My son started private tennis lessons with coach Alex about three months ago and I have to say my husband and I are very impressed. Not only is Coach Alex a top notch pro tennis player, he is also a very good teacher with infinite patience who really cares and is able to connect with his student. As a father of two younger kids, Alex understands children. Let's be honest, kids are not the best listeners and are sometimes unruly. Alex teaches with the right balance of kindness and firmness, and my son (who normally shys away from any sports) has really thrived under his coaching. In fact, I have started taking tennis lessons with Alex. It's been a pleasure and we are so lucky to have found him. read more

I have been playing tennis since high school (I am now a 4th year in college) and have had more than 3 tennis coaches over the years, yet my tennis skills and techniques as an intermediate were super lousy. Until I found Alex, who is super caring, patient, funny, knowledgeable, experienced and down to earth. He helped me found the perfect racquet to fully boost up my power and he has made an immediate and amazing improvement and real difference to my shots and my serve after just several lessons. The marvelous skills he has in observing exactly what your mistakes are and drills you on the basics, as well as his ability to coach diverse players in terms of ages and tennis abilities deeply impressed me. He shows the same standards for everyone, excellent communication and just the right amount of push to get your best efforts. He relentless reminds you what your doing wrong and praises you on what your doing right. All in all, he makes every lesson really enjoyable that you feel like a day at the beach. I am very delighted with my improvements. It's just a shame, I couldn't stay longer with him due to the loads of school work I have but I'll definitely book in with him when I have free time. If you want to improve your tennis skills and get fitter, Alex is definitely the best bang for your buck! read more

Alex is by far the best pro for kids. My daughter has taken from other local pros without results. Alex is patient and Instills a good solid foundation that I would never have thought possible for a 7year old!! My son used to take tennis group classes at San Gabriel Valley, where we used to live. Then we moved to Irvine about a year ago and I wanted to find a good coach because I felt he was not improving. If you are looking for a encouraging, attentive coach you don't have to look no more. Alex is the guy. He is fixing my son's shots/ strokes and I see big improvements, my son is enjoying as he feels more confident. Alex can work with your schedule, he is an easy going guy and also his private and semi-private class prices are the same as City of Irvine tennis classes. I'd recommend anyone to try his class, you will not be disappointed. read more

Our grandson began taking lessons from Alex Venidis at Orange County Top Tennis and we could not he happier. Alex is a highly experienced and qualified coach/teacher with a great rapport with his students. He insures that proper foundations for grip, balance, foot positions, conditioning, form, technique, racket size, proper court etiquette, etc. are instilled and re-enforced if necessary with every session. Without those critical basics being emphasized, how could anyone possibly learn how to play tennis properly? If a student does not begin to learn how to play with a solid foundation of the basics, first picking up bad habits, then later they would have to be re-taught and that would more difficult & confusing for the student, plus a waste of time and money. Not only has our grandson progressed wonderfully, we have seen positive progressive results from other students working with Alex. When a student performs well, Alex responds with immediate positive comments, when a student gets off track, Alex quickly steps in to correct the concern. There are no T-shirts, toy rewards, or sugary treats, just bring a bottle of water, hat, and sunscreen. We have seen other teachers & tennis programs and were not as impressed as we are with the results oriented expertise of Alex Venidis. Curious, you should be, please check his credentials on www.OrangeCountyTopTennis.com and make an appointment to meet with Alex. He is friendly, informative, clearly answering any questions you have and will gladly explain his programs and recommendations. If you have a youngster wanting to learn tennis the Right Way, we sincerely suggest you begin with Alex Venidis of Orange County Top Tennis. We feel you will be impressed and happy you made the best choice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Sincerely: Steve G. & Jihong W. read more

If you are looking for a tennis instructor for yourself or your kids , look no further and give Alex a try. After my sons took several group lesson sessions offered by the City of Irvine and Tustin, they were able to hit the tennis balls but were not taught the proper grip and swing mechanics . Just after a few months of once-a-week semi-private lessons, I have noticed significant improvement in their tennis game. They can now deliver more powerful strokes with control and less effort!! Most importantly , my sons now enjoy the game with great confidence. Alex is extremely patient and pays attention to his student 's every swing making sure his students understand the fundamentals of tennis stroke/game . I believe it is important to instill a solid foundation in order to elevate the game to the next level. read more

My girls (5 and 6) have been going to Coach Alex for a little under 1 year now, first as part of a group lesson and then in semi private. They are so little, yet they can play over the net with me with a little volley and most importantly, they love tennis (which is important for me to have tennis buddies as they get older)! Alex is very encouraging and knows how to keep it simple for them not to get frustrated. He feeds balls from their side of the net so he can readily adjust their grip, feet and/or swing. We are big fans, and Alex has brought tennis back to our whole family. read more
