He had a few at time & learned new skills. The coaches are all kind & supportive. Prospect created a fun & safe learning experience for the players! Everything was well organized, proper amount of water breaks & an all around fun environment for the kids! We found PSA through our Charter School! It was during my son's first soccer season & first sport ever! He was very timid and lacked confidence when he first joined! After a few visits, connection with coaches & other players it quickly became something he begged me to attend weekly! The program is very well organized, has great communication & provides support for the players and parents! Erika is a delight to work with and is very welcoming! The coaches focus on player development & skills that go beyond just winning the game! Coach Adam has played a crucial role in my children's soccer skills and behavior on the field & at home! He is very patient with the littles & creates a fun learning environment! We've had some 1v1s with him & look forward to working with him more! We're very blessed and thankful to have found this program and look forward to having PSA as part of our growth and development!

As a parent, I can confidently say that Prospect Soccer Academy has been a true blessing to our…read morefamily. The coaching staff is exceptional--knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply committed to each player's development. The training is top-tier, focusing not only on technical and tactical soccer skills but also on building confidence and a strong work ethic. What truly sets Prospect Soccer apart is their holistic approach to development. Beyond academics and fútbol, the academy offers a well-rounded curriculum that includes entrepreneurship, financial literacy, public speaking, character development, and mental strength. These life skills are just as valuable as what's taught on the field, and they've made a huge impact on our son's growth as both an athlete and an individual. The classroom teachers are also incredibly helpful, patient, and kind. They create a supportive learning environment that complements the values taught on the field. The environment is positive, professional, and inspiring. I highly recommend Prospect Soccer Academy, to any parent seeking more than just soccer training--it's a community that builds champions on and off the field.

I seldom write reviews, but OCP stands out as a hidden gem that every soccer parent should consider…read morefor their child's skill development. We tried various training facilities in OC for my daughters, ages 10 & 15, and OCP is the standout. Having been with coaches Jessie, Andy and Garrett for nearly 1.5 years, we initially sought a program to enhance my daughters' footwork, touches and ball skills. The coaches have surpassed my expectations, and the skills my daughters have acquired are evident on the soccer field. The boys' program has always been strong, and the girls' program has shown consistent growth. OCP now draws elite club soccer girls from across OC, offering an excellent chance to compete with top girls from various club teams. Futsal is beneficial for honing quick ball-handling skills in confined spaces. The coaches at OCP have developed an intensive, advanced training program that teaches skills transferable to the soccer field. I highly recommend OCP for any soccer parent in search of a quality program.

Each Region also has it's own characteristics which are really driven by the parents and community. I think it's important that folks understand the pros and cons before they decide to enter the program and before they pass judgement on whether they think it is or is not good. Pros: * It's a volunteer organization. So this is your chance to become engaged with your kids activities and give back to the community. * Lots of free training available! * Irvine as a Region is smaller than many of its neighbors, so you can really get to know folks here. * Irvine fields are comparatively awesome. * Recreation play is perfect for kids that are learning or wanted to focus on child development. * The Region invests heavily in their Advanced Play program for competitive development. * The Region has been making great effort to recognize and retain referees. * Much less expensive and more convenient that pay-to-play club soccer. Cons: * Irvine parents and the community are simply not as engaged, which hurts volunteer driven programs. * Volunteers have to deals with entitled parents and children, one bad seed ruins it for everyone sometimes. * You are not guaranteed to be on a competitive team or have an experienced coach. * You are not guaranteed to have an experienced referee for your game, or a referee at all. * Sometimes there are so many emails that it's easy to stop reading them and you may miss important information. * City of Irvine may cancel games on you based on field conditions. * Practices and games are sometimes spread out across many fields. * Overall less organization than some paid, for-profit programs in the area.
