    Model!

Ross Anna is an amazing, encouraging teacher! She's thorough in her explanations and gives you the knowledge to go forward and try things on your own. I highly recommend taking lessons with her if you're interested in learning how to sew!

A toiletry pouch made by my husband at his sewing class!
    Vickie S.

I purchased a semi-private sewing class for myself and my sister in law, but because of our schedules, our husbands ended up taking the class with Ross Anna instead of us! Ross Anna worked patiently with me to schedule a time and offered both an at-home visit or her studio in Costa Mesa as options. Both guys have little to no experience with a sewing machine, but the finished product they brought home was quite amazing. If there is something in particular you want to make, I recommend bringing the pattern and specific fabric/materials you need to make it. Ross Anna will work with you on it. Otherwise, she has specific projects to suggest based on your skill level and some basic supplies to share. You can always email her ahead of the class if you have any questions. My husband loved the class! He said she was very nice, and very knowledgeable. He appreciated that she was very resourceful and worked with the materials they brought and helped them modify their pattern. Aside from the pouch they made, he learned a lot of sewing skills he can transfer to his next project. Thank you Ross Anna!!

    First quilt project. Thanks Rossanna!

What's a bobbin? When we started sewing my DILs and I didn't know how to thread our machines. Now we have made aprons, quilts, baby items etc and have a basic understanding of fabric, feet and sewing basics. Rossanna is patient, knowledgable in any manner of sewing related questions, and funny. She is an excellent teacher- and knows how to teach all skill levels and ages. After many good experiences with Rossana learning the basics, she gave my 9 year old niece some lessons which were thoroughly enjoyed and gave my niece the tools she needed to use her machine. Highly recommend.

Canvas frisbee that Rossanna helped me make

Had a dog frisbee made of canvas that I wanted to duplicate. This was my first sewing project ever. It has a foam layer in the middle, and hard plastic cord around the edging to help keep the shape. My first attempt from Youtube learning was okay, but had some problems, and took me 8-10 hours to make. My second attempt, I couldn't get the sizing of things right. My hopes weren't high that I could find somebody that could help fill in all the pieces I was missing and I wasn't really looking to make clothes, so a group lesson wasn't making sense for me. I hear circles aren't easy to sew, either. Combine that with canvas, foam layer, and hard plastic cording, and I wasn't finding many that could help with what I wanted to do. Found Rossanna, and was surprised when she said she could help with that. And was impressed when I asked what I should bring with me after signing up for a 2 hour private lesson. She said just bring everything you have, and we'll go from there. To me, that's a sign of a person that really knows what she's doing. And she does. She taught me how to make the pattern, and the important concepts to know when making patterns for circles. And then taught me some better/quicker ways to go about sewing it all together. Went from start to finish in just under 2 hours, and learned many good things along the way. Those 2 hours with Rossanna will save me many hours of trial, error and frustration on future projects. And even though I just met her for the first time this afternoon, it feels like I just spent the afternoon with a friend. If you have a project you want to do, and it involves sewing in any kind of way, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rossanna to help you in learning how to do it. And how does Chipper my pooch like his new frisbee? So far, he's liking it just fine.

Some of the swimsuits that Ross Anna helped me design.

Ross Anna is the absolute best! I had to learn how to sew swimsuits for a school project and she taught me not only the basics of sewing, but also how to make my own patterns. She made sure I bought the best sewing tools and that I learned skills the proper way so that I had a strong foundation. I believe that she is a great teacher for both beginner and advanced students. She has experience in the fashion industry as well, so she is 'in the know' far beyond just a sewing realm. I have taken so many skills I learned from her into my other sewing adventures. I can 100% credit my ability to sew well because of her. She was so patient with me and is always such a positive person to be around. I am looking forward to taking more lessons with her in the future.

Today was my first day of sewing lesson and Ross Ana has already taught me how to make a pillow case !! Ross Anna is such a patient fun sweet teacher and she makes learning seem so easy! i.cant wait to learn how to sew more! 4 weeks later (my 4th session), Ross Anna has taught me how to cut and sew pajamas pants n a cute little fabric bag!! U can bring in whatever designs u like to make and she will show u how to make it ! I love this class and even though I only bought four classes but now I know if I need to learn how to make any thing else in future, Ross ana is just a call away!

Loved this place , knowledgeable staff and comfortable ambiance . Took class last year- I was able to finish project in 3 classes ,it moved along nicely. Instructor was relaxed and helpful. Thank you for making it fun and bringing out my best .

Here's our very first baby romper! P.S. We did not bring our own fabrics nor materials but she was gracious enough to give us some.

UPDATE-- After finishing the program I worked as an instructor for theDevMasters. I worked for two months, about six weekends, and was told I would be paid by Arshad, the owner. Great course, great people…read more Course is structured so that any one regardless of background can learn. I graduated with a background in business and by taking the Dev Masters course was able to quickly learn what I wanted to about data science. While the program offers a lot of office hours to take advantage of most of the work to go beyond simple understanding must be done on your own outside of the classroom. The teachers are very good at explaining the overall concepts and helping with specific problems, but just sitting through the classes will not get you enough experience to really learn the subject. The classes themselves are taught very well and supplemented with a lot of hands on learning experiences. You can even tailor your hands on projects to what you specifically want to learn. I would recommend this course to anyone whose primary goal is to learn how they can leverage data science in their respective field. The only downside to consider is that due to the rigorous nature of the material and amount of information that is possible to learn most of the work done to be successful must be done on your own or with some assistance with specific questions during office hours

Very passionate about the subject matter, engaging, clearly an expert who has spent a lot of time in the field with lots of stories to tell, and excellent at providing students a very thorough understanding of bush craft, emergency response, and first aid. He makes sure every student who wants to learn gets hands on experience, and goes the extra mile to ensure students have the supplies and support they need to succeed. It was pouring rain during our course and he took the opportunity to show us how to adapt to inclement weather, maintained a positive, friendly attitude, and found ways to still make every moment a teaching moment. I left the course feeling way more empowered and confident in my outdoor capabilities (I can make a friction fire and my own shelter and rope now from found materials!) and with a desire to dive even deeper into wilderness survival skills. Highly recommend this course for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
