I'd recommend the karate program 2-days a week. You can pick any 2 days and if you don't make it one day or schedule changes, you can always drop in another day. My youngest daughter is shy and doesn't play well with others. But she's thriving and blossoming. She's very disciplined, but likes to draw alone and build alone. She looks forward to karate and seeing her friends and listens very well and participates every class. It's great to see her thrive. My other children are social butterflies and listen well. So karate is helping them become more disciplined and confident. Each week the kids are tasked with various skills. These skills range from basic kicking and punching, but they also incorporate Krav Maga to help with "Stranger Danger". The 4 teachers are incredible and very patient. I wish they would discipline some of the more troubled kids who don't listen, but it's a fine line to walk when the kids parents don't discipline and let their children act a ruckus. But they manage to keep the class moving and participation very high for every child.

But she proved us wrong in the best way. She loves it. The discipline, the challenge, the confidence--it's been amazing to watch her grow. The staff plays a huge part in that. Big shoutout to Mr. Max, Mr. Nathan, and Miss Sabrina--we appreciate you all so much. There was a time when the class size grew quickly, and we were genuinely concerned that too many distractions would slow her progress. Some kids were a handful, and not every parent stepped up. But the team handled it with grace. They adapted fast, pulled together a strong group of leaders, and kept the class focused and motivated. We've seen real growth here, both in our daughter and the dojo itself. Grateful to have found this place. Highly recommend.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

The staff for the summer program and after school program are fun and responsible and my kids always enjoy their time with them. Teragi is a little far for me so it's my home away from home and I try to do drop in classes whenever I have the chance. I always learn something new and helpful that I can take back to my home gym. The other guys in the class are always welcoming and friendly so I recommend anyone to drop in. It's also one of the nicest facilities I've seen with a large rolling area and a side area with tables and couches for kids to hangout and wait if I'm doing an adult class. Teragi is worth a visit!

It's something to have in reserve ready to go. If a situation arises where conflict can't be avoided, his students have no choice but to win. Not only does Sensei Daniel teach how to defend yourself physically but he also shows how to do it in ways that can avoid those kinds of situations altogether. I personally had to use some of the lessons learned in the past after my car was stolen in front of my home. I was able to hear the engine start and noticed my car was missing. I took my other car out to see if I might be able find it. A few minutes later, I was able to spot my car at a red light. Both vehicles were involved in an accident and 3 people who were in the stolen car all ran in different directions. I was able to find one of the suspects walking on the sidewalk. I initially thought about different ways I could hold the person until the police arrived. Fortunately, I chose to keep talking to the person as a way of keeping them at the scene. During the phone call with the police, they asked if I was physically detaining the suspect and informed me that I could be the one committing a crime. In the end, all I had to do was talk until the police arrived. Sensei Daniel teaches his students to try to verbally de-escalate confrontations when possible and it helped me out that night. I recommend Samurai Academy for children and adults of all ages. You'll be able to learn how to defend yourself in different ways.

I've been practicing martial arts since I was a kid, starting with Japanese jujutsu, then Brazilian jiu-jitsu. As I was studying and competing in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, I wanted to learn more about stand-up grappling, so I stopped in for their Judo class and boy I was hooked! Sensei Daniel Warren has helped me become more of a complete martial artist by teaching me more about take downs, throws and break-falls. Sensei Daniel Warren is extremely patient, technical and thorough. He is extremely humble, kind and motivating as an individual. He is a man of strong morals and character. I would recommend people of all ages to come and train here. This dojo is truly a gem. You will not regret stopping by!

It's extremely well organized, and everyone there truly cares about the kids. The new owners, Sensei Quan and Sensei Butler, have taken the program to another level. My daughter has grown so much in confidence and focus, and she's built a great group of friends through the program. The instructors have really helped toughen her up in the best way. I got to say what started as a let's just try this out through a "parks and rec activity for six…read moreweeks" program for my two kids... we've now been part of the MAI family for almost TWO YEARS now!!! My kids l, and crazily enough, myself and I have loved the way the program is created and conducted for the students to be taught martial arts here at this dojo! If you're a parent like me, who wants their kid to be taught self defense but still very weary about the actual tournaments/sparring/etc say no more what I love about MAI is that all the senseis here have actual skills plus HEARTS! they hear us parents our with our annoying concerns and talk to our kids and build confidence, focus on building each skill-set, and not create competitive edge where it causes tension amongst the kids but camaraderie and real life skill sets on how to defend one's self in situations (which even I watch to pickup some moves haha). Now, keep in mind kids will be kids and you do have some sparring days that can be jarring, but again the senseis have all been there to be super supportive to make sure everyone feels safe! Besides regular lessons, they have awesome special field trip days, special ninja nights, and other fun activities! Highly recommend this dojo!
