Orange Auto Upholstery was a referral from a car collector customer. I have a 1975 Blazer with standard interior but this really ugly plastic/wood door panel. That panel didnt match anything! So I met with Sergio, look at this fabric samples and showed him what I was looking for. He gave me a very reasonable quote. We talked about his schedule, he was busy, I waited 2 weeks, scheduled to drop off on Saturday. Called the Wednesday before and confirmed and he was confident he'd complete the job within a week. Dropped off that Saturday, called on Thursday to confirm it would be ready and it was. Got there and blown away by Sergio's craftsmanship. Did a fantastic job! Can do decent work when motivated. However, if you need attention to detail, or accurate color matching, forget it. I paid him to redye my dash. Instead he grabbed a color only vaguely related and dabbed it over the crack filler. The color was not even close. He made no effort to blend or mix the color to actually match. First off full disclosure you will wait a LONG time to get your project done. Sergio is very backed up, has a problem saying no to new work and has no idea how to quote time. If you can handle that you will get the most amazing work in return. Sergio's work is second to none. I had him do an entire interior for my 63 bug. Seats, panels, carpet, headliner,and ragtop. He did an amazing job. I had a couple issues after the fact but Sergio fixes then no questions asked. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I am highly disappointed in Sergio. After being recommended by another car enthusiast I decided to take my El Camino to get my door panels installed. It was a complete nightmare. See below for a summary of my experience. I called ahead and made an appointment. I arrived on time at 8:05am. They open at 8am. Installing my panels should only take a few hours. He told me it would take same day. Later he calls and tells me it would be ready next day. When I got my car back next day I got inside. I was locked in and unable to open my drivers side door. So I was forced to get out through my passenger side since he damaged my door lock... and he also forgot to install my rail roof weatherstripping. So I waited another 2 hours. Finally Driving home I noticed my windows were no longer working. He did not connect my drivers side power window buttons. So I had to take it back AGAIN the next day. Only installing door panels and weatherstripping is not a 3 day job. It was a complete nightmare! read more

I want to give Sergio 0 (ZERO!) stars. I entrusted him with my 1991 BMW convertible for carpet replacement and some relatively minor fixes to the front and rear seats. I left him the car in mid-June. I picked it up in mid-September. Completely untouched. Not. Worked on. At. All... Perhaps I bear some responsibility for telling him a couple of times "There's no hurry..." (He came highly-recommended and I wanted to wait to have the job done right.) But really? Isn't there a big difference between taking your time and taking advantage of a customer's good will by leading them on. In the end, he was less than truthful, telling me the car was being worked on, that it would "be ready next week". It was not, but I was ready to take it elsewhere... I suppose that's his way of telling a customer, "This job really isn't worth my time." read more

I don't usually do reviews, but Sergio's work as well as his employees have performed a phenomenal job. They replaced the damaged section of the driver's bottom seat on my Mercedes. The vinyl material was brittle, dry, and began to show signs of cracking. As a result, the material came apart over time due to age. However, Sergio and his team were able to replicate the same material, color, perforation pattern. The new material is also vinyl, but a stronger flexible surface that is moist. Sergio is probably one of the worst businessmen I've ever encountered. I showed up on a Thursday afternoon around 5 pm- waited 30 minutes in the disgusting lobby for him to finish running his errands (not his business), then he gave me verbal quote, and took a mental note for my incoming appointment in 11 days. (Probably my fault for not asking for a written copy/confirmation, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.) 11 days later I show up, he gave away my appointment, and tells me that he's really backed up this week and asks if I can come back next week....what a disrespectful person, just because I'm 24 doesn't give you the right to treat customers poorly. I wanted to get a big rip in the driver's seat fixed for my bf's truck. My friend's dad (who is really into restoring cars) recommended this place, and suggested I talk to Sergio. Both Sergio and Vico (sp?) were extremely helpful. I arrived Saturday morning at 9:15 and was told it would be done around 3 pm... Unfortunately I couldn't wait that long and needed it done sooner. Vico told me they'd start on it now and get it done ASAP. When I called the first time, they told me prices started at $65, and that's how much I was charged to get the rip fixed. (They replaced one vinyl side pane on the seat part.) Vico also came out and asked if I'd like them to remove the excess fabric that had been bunched up under the seat to make it fit better in the car. He said it would be an additional $20. I was so glad 1) he asked first and 2) suggested it in the first place! I said sure. :) By noon the truck was all ready to go and looked perfect! I had also gotten it detailed the day before and they were very careful to keep the interior extra clean. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for minor or major repairs. The employees are knowledgable and won't hesitate to accomodate you or communicate to learn what you're looking for. read more

I brought my 1965 Corvette Stingray to them to install new leather seats. The leather seat material was pre-ordered by me and they handled the installation. They did an excellent job. I had a list of items that needed to be done, new foam, new cushion, repair some broken springs, some minor welding, and refinishing of the seat backs. They did a great job. They did miss a couple items and lost a couple screws but replaced them upon request. I am entrusting them with my next project which will be the installation of a new convertible soft top. They are priced better than other companies I contacted. They could use some improvement in scheduling and on time completion. read more

Made a Mondsy appointment to get truck seat rebuilt- Sergio upped price because 'original price was for seat only, not the back' and changed from 1 to 2 days to complete the rebuild. He had friends in the lobby who were saying that Sergio would get their job done today. I called the following day and Nothing had been done- and Sergio needed yet another day to rebuild the seat. Finally went up there and the vehicle had not been touched! So they LIED and then expected us to just leave it there another week or two? Then SERGIO doesn't even bother to give us our keys (had another employee give them to us) so not only a liar but RUDE. I am very concened about leaving my car at any shop due to the amount of time and effort put into the restoration up to this point, when I firt showed up and took a look in the parking area.. It was a little nerve racking to say the least, lots of nice older vehicles in a very tight area. I spoke with Sergio and explained what I wanted done to my car.. It needed a complete new convertble top installed and some fabriction to make a well for the top. This shop was highly recomended by several other restoration guys that I had spoke to, so I left the car and hoped for the best. After several weeks had gone by I needed the car for a show done or not!! Sergio had some issues getting the top which I have to agree with due to the top not being avalible and the top company having to make one, which i verified! cant blame him for that. so I picked up the car and headed to the show. after returning the car back to the shop, it was there for another 2 weeks, finally I got a call that it was done and everything turned out good acording to Sergio. I went to pick up the car and to be honest Im a pain in the ass about details.. I could not be more happy with the job they performed on installing the top and there work on this custom job!!!! attention to detail was over the top.. materials matched, they replaced all the snaps so they would match even though some of them were new, they installed the rear window teathers right were they needed to be and the top fits perfect after having to do several adjustments to make it fit properly, they took there time and did it right.. it was well worth the wait. Its very hard to find a shop to trust and that has good work ethics, especially on classics. It takes alot of attention to details and time taken to do it right.. THEY DID and went above and beyond my expectations on this one.. I will be returning to have them redue the seats and the rest of the interior in a few months.. It might take a little time to get it done but its well worth the wait if you want it done right.. read more
