Giselle, Dr. Carbarga"s assistant, made me feel welcomed from the moment I entered. She was very professional and helpful. I explained what I was looking for and she took the time to assist me in looking for the right frame. I didn't feel rushed or pressured. Dr. Cabarga, came and introduced himself. He was also extremely helpful. I explained my need and he made several suggestions. I felt he gave me a one-in-one consultation. This is very rare these days. What a refreshing experience! Needless to say, I bought the frame and I"m so happy!! Cynthia

I cannot believe they tried to swindle me. It started out well with Michelle, but then Eye Care…read moreOptical Center turned on me. It was time to get some new sunglasses and I thought I would support one of the local opticians/eye glass stores. Upon entering Eye Care Optical Center in South Miami (next to the Seafood Market and blue roofed stores) I was greeted by Michelle after just a few minutes of browsing. The store was packed with customers. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and actually gave me back honest feedback on how different frames looked on me. I agreed with her likes and dislikes. I thought I might shop around a bit more and visit other stores, but she was so nice that I decided to just go for it. I settled on a frame and wanted prescription and polarized lenses. The total was $300. Expensive, but the frames looked better on me than the ones from Costco. Several weeks later, my prescription glasses were ready. I sit down to try them on with a totally different employee. As soon as she takes them out of the plastic bag, I notice she has a weird expression. The second I see the frames I realize why. They must have been the display frames because there was a huge scuff mark on the bridge. Also, there were scratches all over the plastic frames. I could not believe that they were going to try to pass off old, scraped up frames as new. I tried them on to see if the prescription was alright. I asked the employee how they looked. She said they looked great but I could tell she was nervous, waiting to see if I would say anything about the damaged frame. I finally indicated to her that I was aware of the scratches. The employee begrudgingly apologized and said that it would be another couple of weeks before the sunglasses were ready (with new frame). I would have appreciated if the employee had immediately apologized when she noticed the error instead of waiting to see if I would fall for their scheme. There are so many other places to spend your hard earned money. If you decide to still purchase anything from here, then please check your frames and lenses carefully. I won't be returning.

At 11 AM I walked to the door knock and the lady said he still not there I said cancel my appointment she immediately says no problem. I see why they have no appointments today. The receptionist didn't care to lose a customer at all it seemed. I gladly will take my business elsewhere. Are usually buy 2 to 3 pairs of glasses when I go to an optometrist to their loss.

Dr. Gary Gegerson has been my family optometrist for well over twenty years. I vaguely remember a…read moretime when I was not seeing Dr. G. I do remember another optometrist office in Miami that seemed so far away though, and as a child, I suppose things are just like that. Having said that, Dr. Gegerson exemplifies the essence that is a doctor with good 'bedside manner.' Yes, Dr. G. speaks softly and with a tone you can easily understand, regardless of age, and yes, Dr. G. will make jokes or ask about the family to make you feel at ease. While all that is fine and dandy, Dr. G. always tells you the truth and in plain English. Dr. G. will not sugarcoat or dance around anything that you need to hear and when working with your eyes, this is a huge responsibility. I had LASKI back in 2006, with the recommendation of Dr. G.'s trusted surgeon. I hesitate to bring the name up, as this is a review for Dr. G., however Dr. Cory Lesner is the name and he too is amazing. GO check out my review for MILLENIUM if you wish. (Shameful plug.) As a child I could not touch my eye and with the need for either glasses or contacts, getting near and using the contacts was not for me. I just could not do it. Dr. G. worked with me, so slowly and carefully, and though I was never able to place the contacts in, Dr. G., showed me the difference of wearing them in different situation and how I might be best fitted for something like LASIK. The style and approach Dr. G. takes with his patients is to make sure they always know what is going on and with the expectation that they will be seen in a timely manner. I have not once waited in his front office for more than ten or so minutes. We all know that is amazing when thinking of any doctor. Dr. G., his wife and right-hand man (lady), Dale, are a great team. So, if looking for an eye doc in the Pinecrest, Miami area in general, I could not recommend any one else. Oh, by the way, I used to live in Kendall and now I live in North Miami. Once a year, I do make the pilgrimage to see Dr. G. and Dale. No excuses. SYOY!

I had an eye exam shortly before going to him for the first time (probably 5-6weeks) and my glasses (first time ever wearing eyeglasses) were giving me headaches and made me feel dizzy. He wrote me up a new prescription, I had new glasses made and have never had a headache from glasses again!! Dr. Gegerson is a pleasure to deal with, never rushes, explains everything and answers any question you can come up with!! I am due for a check up and will be going back to him!
