I could barely walk and it was affecting my ability to work, workout, drive and do normal activities with friends and family. At the advice of a friend, I called Active Care. I had never been to a Chiropractor before but was desperate for help. I was welcomed with friendly faces, a clean and open office, an insurance sheet that told me exactly how much I would owe for what and when, and Doctors with positive attitudes, outgoing personalities, and who truly want the best for you. I saw Dr. Freseth who created a plan for me that included rehabilitation, adjustments, exams, and regular massages with Cheryl. Every rehab session turned into "work and talk" discussions about food, life, athleisurewear and healthy living which made me excited to keep coming back and motivated to keep up my progress. Anytime I have a question about my account statement, I receive a response in less than an hour. By November 2021, I was pain free, back to working out 6x a week, and running faster every day. 4/22/2020 The Joint has been very helpful in relieving my back problems. The wellness plan they…read moreoffer includes four visits every month which is cheaper than paying out of pocket. It seems a lot of my back problems are work related with no end in sight except for when I get adjusted. This location is fairly convenient for me being 14 miles and 30 minutes from work I can usually just make it before they close. I have been coming to the Joint for years. Between my wellness plans and additional visits I'm dropping over $900 a year in treatment. That is ALOT cheaper than their closest competitor Chiro One who wanted to charge me $3,000 for just 50 visits. I recommend the Joint and will update this review with time. Right now with the COVID-19 situation you need to be sure to wear a face mask into the location due to an ordinance from the city of Northbrook or you won't get service. COVID-19 is changing the day to day for all of us. Overall service from the Joint has been excellent. However they need to get an email system set up from the corporate office so that the varying franchise locations have a platform for updates like office closed or face mask required for service. Today was the first time I went in and won't gain 45 minutes of my life back because an email system like I described seems lacking. I have a ton of masks and would have brought one during today's visit had I received an email notification. I left annoyed. The location still gets 5 starts in my eyes but the email application needs to be developed as a courtesy to patients. Update4/23/2020: After checking the city website the ordinance requiring face masks went into effect Monday April, 20. My wasted trip occurred April 22 around 6:40 PM. I'll update this review again if they add a notification system that lets patients know of changes to the clinic. Other business including my dentist and doctors office have text and email systems in place. Hopefully the corporate office does something for the many franchise locations soon especially given that city ordinances may be added and changed at any time. This isn't just a COVID-19 situation. This is an everyday useful service that should be in place. Additional Update:The Facebook page for the location was updated today 4/23/2020 to show the new ordinance. Dr Juergens helped me with nutritional tips and suggestions, and after his visits with her, his constipation issues improved! Even after just the first visit. She is so good with babies and was so gentle with him, he was very comfortable during his adjustment. I have brought all five of my children for wellness visits to Juergens Chiropractic, and there was another occasion when Dr Juergens helped my 12 year old daughter who had a terrible stomach virus and was having a hard time getting back to her regular diet. Dr Juergens adjusted her and her nausea subsided. She was able to start holding down food after that. My daughter loved Dr Juergens and was very comfortable talking to her, and said she felt a lot better afterwards. Dr Juergens helped me with nutritional and wellness suggestions, and treated me for foot, joint, and back pain. Her demeanor is very friendly and kind. She spent a lot of time listening to my concerns and giving me helpful advice, along with my adjustments. I always feel so much better after I see her. I think Dr Juergens is extremely knowledgeable and all of the advice she has given me (nutrition, postpartum care, breastfeeding, fatigue) has helped me so much. He is also very gentle and patient, and so skilled. He helped me so much after I hurt myself in the process of moving to a new home. I went into the office sore and exhausted and I walked out feeling energized and strong again. Dr Clark addressed my lower back pain, my general fatigue from caring for 5 children, and my muscle pain from babywearing issues, my plantar fasciitis in my feet, etc. I felt very comfortable with him as well, and I really appreciate how much time he spent answering my questions and explaining everything to me. The office staff is always so nice, and so accommodating to mothers with babies and children. The office is so clean and cheerful, with coloring sheets and toys in the waiting room to help keep little ones occupied.
