These are the types of offices that give Chiropractors a bad name. I went with an emergent need, and instead of care, I got a sales pitch about coming in 2-4x a week. They gave me this pitch 3-4 times in a 10 minute care period. The provider failed to even provide his name. After the visit, my back was in worse shape I ended up in the ER. When trying to contact this office afterwards, they ghosted me for 5 weeks and refused to provide any assistance. I suggest you find better care at an established real chiropractic office. I should have known better as after I checked in, another person came in and cancelled their "membership" because of poor availabiltiy and lack of care. I agree with him. I came to The Joint when my massage therapist recommended it. I've seen chiropractors before, but never quite this business model. The monthly membership is $69 for 4 visits per month and $10 for each additional visit. This has encouraged me to make it part of my regular self-care routine. I like that I have the ability to see a variety of doctors. Dr. Vic focuses on applied kinesiology (you can google - I had never heard of it, but it has helped me A TON). Dr. James is awesome too and does a great neck crack - the "ring dinger" for those who watch youtube! Even the visiting / sub doctors have been great. Vicky and Bianca are awesome too!! 4/22/2020 The Joint has been very helpful in relieving my back problems. The wellness plan they offer includes four visits every month which is cheaper than paying out of pocket. It seems a lot of my back problems are work related with no end in sight except for when I get adjusted. This location is fairly convenient for me being 14 miles and 30 minutes from work I can usually just make it before they close. I have been coming to the Joint for years. Between my wellness plans and additional visits I'm dropping over $900 a year in treatment. That is ALOT cheaper than their closest competitor Chiro One who wanted to charge me $3,000 for just 50 visits. I recommend the Joint and will update this review with time. Right now with the COVID-19 situation you need to be sure to wear a face mask into the location due to an ordinance from the city of Northbrook or you won't get service. COVID-19 is changing the day to day for all of us. Overall service from the Joint has been excellent. However they need to get an email system set up from the corporate office so that the varying franchise locations have a platform for updates like office closed or face mask required for service. Today was the first time I went in and won't gain 45 minutes of my life back because an email system like I described seems lacking. I have a ton of masks and would have brought one during today's visit had I received an email notification. I left annoyed. The location still gets 5 starts in my eyes but the email application needs to be developed as a courtesy to patients. Update4/23/2020: After checking the city website the ordinance requiring face masks went into effect Monday April, 20. My wasted trip occurred April 22 around 6:40 PM. I'll update this review again if they add a notification system that lets patients know of changes to the clinic. Other business including my dentist and doctors office have text and email systems in place. Hopefully the corporate office does something for the many franchise locations soon especially given that city ordinances may be added and changed at any time. This isn't just a COVID-19 situation. At the Nortbrook location, it's a quick in and out to get adjusted. I have never had to wait more than 10 min. Usually there is no wait time. Dr Dean is excellent. Because I work from home, I love how I don't need an appointment. I can drop in at anytime. Even "lunchtime" is fine. The wait is usually 5 min or less. I was at my wits END! I tried it all Ice baths, yoga, stretching, saunas, napropathy, nerve flossing, pigeon pose, naproxen, ibuprofen, Tylenol, Kratom but nothing helped so I went to the ER which I avoid like the plague because I worked in 2 Chicago ERS for 3 years total.They gave me some muscle relaxers, pain killlers and prednisone. Two weeks went by and the pain just got worse! The point is Dr. Dean helped me immensely and I am now going to be a regular patient at the Joint. So two visits, and I'm really happy so far. The neck, thoracic and lumbar cracking have truly helped with the pain that I've been having. I am so happy I found Dr. Vic. I joined the Joint in Wheaton but was referred to Dr. Vic. Worth the drive. He gets the areas I need and has helped me tremendously. I have always suffered from neck and back pain from a previous diagnosis. I see him every week and have been in less and less pain each visit. He is a miracle worker. I went here on somewhat a last minute choice because my neck and back was killing me and was hoping a quick adjustment would make me feel better and help with my headaches. I arrived and the place was really clean i called ahead to make sure i could be seen and it was no problem. The guy who worked with me was SUPER nice and seemed to know what he was doing. he took the time to try and see what was going on with me and i felt REALLLY good after the adjustment. it was my first time having a manual adjustment and i dont think it will be my last. I felt much better following the adjustment and would definitely recomend to others. He did bring up packages but was not SUPER pushy as some places i can be about making another appointment etc. Overall staff was great, place was great, and i had a adjustment in and out in like 30 minutes for 29 bucks. After several visits, my lower back started to hurt and that was the second time that it happened, so I wanted to cancel my membership and not getting charged for the second month as I was not going to continue my treatment there, but they didn't let me to cancel my membership because it was a plan with 2 month minimum. Tried for the first time today. Definitely a drive thru model. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. The chiropractor was great, knowledgeable and kind. But I'm giving three stars because I could go to a regular style office and get a full (not 10 minute treatment) and feel better in one treatment for the same as a monthly cost and 4/10 minute treatments. My shoulder pain felt like it was just about to release but my treatment was over before it began. Great if your just looking for short long term stop in and readjustment. I'm always skeptical when going to a chiropractor because of the scary things you hear, but Dr. Vic instantly relieved my fears. I was a first timer. I've never had any kind of back/neck issues up until about 3 months ago. My girlfriend told me that I should get adjusted, and I just kept putting it off (mainly due to not finding the time). I finally just walked into the Joint and got adjusted by Dr. James. It was amazing! I know why she swears by it now. I will most definitely be going back again. Excellent chiropractic care. Dr. Robinson has a great ability in the sense that he can modify his adjustments to the type of person he is working on. He is gentle enough for smaller frames, and also provides a solid adjustment every time no matter patient size. The supplementary explanation of where my pain was coming from along with the at home stretching and strengthening recommendations helped tremendously. My son and I both look forward to our weekly visits, and Dr. Robinson is a wonderful new addition to the team. He and Dr. Dean (we appreciate his easy yet firm adjustments as well), makes them a North Shore dynamic duo worth visiting. We have more mobility, experienced pain relief and have learned different body mechanics as a result if the excellent care we've received at The Joint. My husband and I both started having back pain for various and different reasons. He is a contractor and I have an office job where I am always in a sitting position. We finally agreed that we need to see a chiropractor. I did a lot of research to find a good location and doctor that will be in a convenient location for both of us. Finally I decided to give joint chiropractic a try as they had good reviews and in a good location. Our first visit was very knowledgeable as the front desk explained us their process, cost, hours, etc and we did our first treatment/ adjustment and we really liked the doctor as he was very knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. We signed up for the 10 treatments and got 2 free as that is the desk they were currently having. We are almost done with our treatments and both doctors are very nice and very knowledgeable. For our family their hours are perfect as they are available 7 days a week with evening hours and we never wait longer than 15/20 mins but most of the times we wait about 5 minutes. We would definitely recommend this place the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they accept HSA card. read more
