I came here because I had three 60 minute Swedish massages from Groupon. I too was surprised as well when the masseuse was a man. Usually, these places ask whom are you most comfortable with, I guess I assumed they only had one gender here, being the more general female masseuse, so I myself didn't ask/specify. They only have 2 masseuses total when I went (November 2015). I wasn't even sure it was him (Josh) because he came in looking like he just played a game of basketball. After getting a little lost outside looking for its parking section, as well as going to the room (the Groupon just says Ste 255, not North or South) and filling out the paperwork, I was already 15 minutes into my appointment time. No biggie, my fault. As the massage started, Josh asked what I wanted massaged. I said scalp, back and feet. He did feet for 2 minutes, then the rest of the time was the back. No scalp. I kept telling him it's too much pressure. When he asked to rate it from 1-10, 10 being painful, I said 9. He didn't change it up much after that.. maybe to an 8. He used his elbows the entire time. Hard pressure. I mean HARD. He was done 45 minutes into the hour and already had another client waiting for him. He handed me a bottle of water and went into the other room. When I asked the receptionist why isn't it until the hour is up, he heard me and said that "that's the way massages work. It's not really the full hour." It's not my first rodeo, I paid for the hour which in essence I got 30 minutes total. I saved myself the $10 tip that was intended for the worst massage I've ever gotten. The other two times I went, I specified to have the female. Rachel the manager was nice and the receptionist Erika was nice as well. Melissa, the only female masseuse was below average. Like the other Yelpers here, I agree that the Pandora kept having disrupting ads as well as phone calls and alarms, not making it relaxing. If you read this Melissa, switch to a Tibetan Bowl meditation sound or something soothing, found for free on YouTube that has hours of ad free music. Also bring change because if you have a $10 but only want to leave what it was worth ($7), Melissa will say she doesn't have change, but soon after, you will see her at the Yogurtland paying next to you in singles. I just gave her the $10. Next time if there's no change, I'll opt to be one of those people and not give a below average masseuse any tip. Check the foam water cup she hands you as well because mine looked like someone had used it to drink orange juice. Needless to say, I didn't hydrate there, hence why I went to Yogurtland for their strawberry infused water and froyo to cheer me up. I'm always going to read reviews next time I buy a massage from Groupon. I slipped on reading for this place. Silver Lining- lesson learned. read more
