Tower Micro has been a Bloomsburg institution since I was in high school back in the mid 90's when I got my first 486 desktop from them. They used to be down in the Agway plaza next to the Town Park and had a different name which has since slipped my mind. They have since moved to Rt 11 next to the super cool 1800's "western city" that it sits next to which needs to be seen to be understood (I believe it's an old Hollywood set). Parking is always ample and easy, the biggest complaint might be having to turn left back out onto Rt 11 without a stop light, but I'm not complaining.....merely stating. The service from the crews on the floor every single time I have entered the store has been courteous, thorough and educational. I have walked in on numerous occasions, been asked what I needed and was out the door in under 5 minutes because my needs were met and the transaction was done quickly. The general floor showing off products could be better organized and have more machines up and running to show off the products. I loved this when I was younger as I would always go in and see how fast solitaire would fly on the new generations of Pentium processors and how fast the Microsoft toasters would fly across the screen.....but the past few times I've been in the store, I haven't exactly been able to play with products.

    These people don't "diagnose" foreign laptops, and therefore still made me pay for it, i am going…read moreto dispute the payment of $30 with my bank. they had zero diagnosis just said they cant fix it because its not an "apple" or "hp" laptop. maybe that should be their brand name. btw my laptop is an evoo laptop. and if you're going to get their services for your main brand american laptop, just know you will probably be overcharged and they will say its an issue with your motherboard, as most unprofessional laptop technician companies that are scammy tend to do! avoid avoid avoid at all costs.

    This week I went to Bloomsburg Staples to mail returns to Amazon…read more While waiting in line I realized I left my phone in my car & needed the QR codes. I turned to the woman behind me and said "my phone is in my car, I'll be right back". I left my cart with 3 pkgs. in it in line. When I came back a minute later I realized she jumped ahead of me so with a puzzled look I asked her "Did you jump the line ahead of me"? Her response was "you left"!?!?! Seriously? As she was going back to her spot behind me an obnoxious fat lady in front of me thought she'd be a smart ass & told the woman she could get in front of her, and so the woman moved to the front of the line now. Mind you, I'm a senior citizen with chronic back pain, I use a cane and a walker and I just had both my hips replaced. I explained this to the woman and it meant nothing to her. So I asked to speak to a manager to explain what just happened. The young "acting manager" listened for half a second before the fat lady jumped in and in a combative tone said "She left the line". When I went on to explain that I didn't leave the line, I went to my car to get my phone & left my cart in line, the manager threatened to "throw us both out"! Her exact words! Why me? Where am I in the wrong here?? So she just let her jump the line while I had to stand there in pain longer than necessary. I thought this was extremely unprofessional and she did not address the issue. She should have kicked them both out! To her credit, she did offer to take me at another register. Today while I was back in the store I decided to speak to the main manager to let her know how this was handled. As I was speaking with her, I could see that every word I said went in one ear and out the other. She just had a blank stare. She made excuses for her acting manager, no matter what I said. She said she was probably busy and had a long line and I told her there was no line in her section but she continued to make excuses Instead of saying, "I'm sorry that you were treated that way and that our manager didn't do anything about it, please accept my apologies on behalf of Staples". Instead she went on to tell me that the other two ladies called her to let her know that the "acting Mng." didn't do anything wrong (in the event I called.) She also said that the "fat lady" told her I "hit the back of her legs" with my cart, which is a complete lie. She probably hit her own fat ass on my cart while backing up to let the other lady in ahead of her and blamed me!!! The "acting manager" as well flat out lied to her superior by saying she told us "if we don't stop she wouldn't wait on us". Uhhh NO, she yelled and I quote "I'll throw you both out"! Due to principal alone, I was compelled to contact the District Manager after that conversation, and he couldn't have been any nicer or more understanding. I'll continue to go to that Staples because it's the only one within 60 miles and because the DM was sincere, understanding, apologetic and said he'd address it. Thanks to the DM, Donnell, I'll continue to be a custome.

    Same-day service is not really the same day. In before noon is supposed to be by 6:30 PM, but what…read morethey don't bother to mention is that they lock the doors at 7:00. I ordered online before 10, and I checked the box to notify me by phone when done. Don't count on it. I did receive an automated call at 7:21 PM, well after closing. I'd already stopped by at 7:06 PM. Three others arrived at the same time. All of us expected closing to be at least 8 PM. The boy in the service area wasn't about to budge. Staples' price is ridiculously high for such deceptive policies. I'll leave another review tomorrow when I trek back and actually see the quality.

    I took an old computer to Kinn in the hopes of getting it going again. The computer was built by…read morePugit, and thus it was a very high-end build. I told David that I despritely wanted to save it as I had a number of unreplacable software programs and I would not use it online. David did not give me the time of day. He told me that he would have answers for me in a few days, and after a few weeks I picked it up. He blew it off as too old and the motherboard was shot as well as the power supply. I just know that he barely looked at it, but I was charged for his time. So, I just knew that I needed a second opinion and I took it to another tech who diagnosed the problem immediately. It was a blown video card, and in 2 days I had it back and running. It did not matter to David that this computer was highly valued by me, and all he offered me was to build me a new one. I am having a new one built, but NOT BY KINN. Terrible experience.

On Friday, I took in my Kindle Fire HD to get an estimate on…read morerepairing a cracked screen - he asked if he could keep it overnight to check out serial numbers so a good estimate could be given. I heard nothing from him on Sat. When he did call with an estimate it was higher than the cost of a new Kindle. When I told him this, he argued with me and hung up the phone. I went to pick up the Kindle on Monday and there was a charge!!! He had never told me about a possible charge for an estimate on a repair. So, I paid $31.00 to get my Kindle back. I would not recommend this business. Not only did I receive a charge - when a charge was never mentioned - but the owner was rude. Sorry Kinn Computers, you won't see me back, nor any of my friends.
