While some may question a Groupon deal leading me to choose Optimal Wellness for my first ever chiropractic experience, it worked for me, and now I can highly recommend that you go there, too. I have been there about four times and I can't say enough good things about the place. It has a very laid back atmosphere with a smallish but nice waiting room. The receptionist is very nice and helpful and will chat with you if you like (but doesn't force conversation). As a bonus, she will keep an eye on your kid in the play room (directly across from her) while you get your adjustment. (There is also a table in the play room so you can get adjusted in there if you want.) Dr. Walters is really very nice and makes you feel right at home--it felt like I was talking to an old friend! Much better than the clinical setting I was expecting... The best part is that she has made me feel SO much better...in just four visits! Apparently I have severe neck trauma (no idea how or why, but that's what the scan told her) which I could agree with because I had trouble moving my neck. After the first adjustment I could move my next much better! And my back! She cracked it! Oh, it felt heavenly! (Sidenote: I am one of those people who has cracked her back and neck for YEARS, but suddenly after the birth of my son a year ago I lost that ability. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have been doing it to start, but I could, so I did. So when I lost the ability, I was in pain.) Appointments are easy to get, and they can often get you in early if you show up early. Alternatively, I was running late one day due to a prior appointment and they had no problem getting me in when I arrived 15 minutes late. Lastly, her prices seem to be very affordable. Now, as I've said, this is my first ever chiropractic experience, but I was expecting like $50 or $75 a session or something...so I was thrilled when I saw her normal prices are $35. Now, other places might be the same, but even so, I'm happy here so I'm staying here. This chiropractic office is phenomenal. The few times I went in for an adjustment, I was informed on why I was experiencing pain, and what would be done to correct it. I was given a test that uses heat to see where my spine was misaligned. After the test was done, I was given a printout that showed exactly which vertebrae needed to be corrected. They do not try to push you to keep coming back or pay a lot in advance for long term care, like other chiropractors in the area do. They educate you and let you make your own decisions on how to proceed with care. I can't recommend them enough and will plan to keep going back even after moving out of the area. read more

This practice, specifically Dr. Kendra (owner) and Dr. Natalie, are gifted in their field. Both provide not only outstanding adjustments and pain relief, but they take time to teach stretches and movements for at home care between visits. My massage therapist Jane digs out knots I did not know were there until she kneads them out and I feel looser! Everyone here, from the massage therapists, front desk, billing, and doctors are caring professionals and awesome individuals. I trust this practice with my 2 sons and daughter-in-law. Our youngest in California says he never gets as good an adjustment and massage in California as he does here, so when he comes home for Christmas a massage and adjustment here are his gifts from us! Very professional place with a very kind and knowledgeable staff. I'm always seen within minutes of walking in and the rooms and waiting area are very clean. I typically see Dr. Megan on a bi-weekly basis and also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kendra recently - both are amazing! I initially came in because I have back pain as a result of bad posture. Bonus - I've also stopped getting migraines which I never knew could be corrected by chiropractic care! I notice a HUGE difference now that I've started seeing Dr. Megan on a bi-weekly basis. The initial appointment was great, in addition to sitting down with Dr. Megan for an extended period of time, she did a scan of the nerves/muscles in my spine and it was really interesting to see the results. Usually chiropractors do X-ray (if anything) which really doesn't tell you much about your discomforts unless you have bone issues (i.e. ignores muscles and nerves). Was cool to see something that validated my discomforts, and seemed very cutting edge. After the initial appointment I continue to come in for adjustments which are pretty quick. Dr. Megan is so kind and always voices over what she's doing when she's adjusting me and will tell me / walk me through when she's going to do an adjustment that may feel weird. I get nervous about doing my neck but she's so nice, gentle, and understanding about it! Another bonus about this place is their self-pay price is very reasonable (if your insurance doesn't cover chiropractor / no insurance). I'm transitioning to a new job and didn't have insurance so I had to pay out of pocket. I've been going to Optimal Wellness for over three years now (through two babies, two car accidents, and many days of sitting at a desk). I've seen each of their chiropractors at some point or another, and all of them have been great. They genuinely care about their patients and are all upbeat and positive. They aren't the type of chiropractor that is going to tell you need to be there 3-5 times a week (I did 3 visits a week at the end of my pregnancy trying to flip my breech baby, but that is the only time they recommended more regular treatment). Parking is sufficient during peak hours, and some kind driver usually lets me slip back onto Thirteen Mile during rush hour. The office itself is decorated in pleasant neutral tones with a separate children's play area and at least one child or baby being carried around. A family-friendly focus is evident from the first visit, but fear not, it's all very clean and cozy. I started coming here in my third trimester for an alignment. I have not regretted the decision at any point. Dr. Jen started out by explaining the techniques she uses, engaging me with a thorough understanding of the changes brought on by hormones, increased baby weight and growth. Then she got me stretched out on a padded table with a special drop-away panel for the bump. Count me excited just to be able to stretch out without fear of squashing the little one! Once she got started, the aches and discomforts immediately started to subside. Her light touch did more to relieve the tension knotted in my mid and lower back than three massage sessions, and I never felt uneasy or uncomfortable while she performed the adjustments. On the contrary, I left in a happy, almost slumbering daze. The stiffness or soreness she warned of never set in, and I was practically flopping myself on her table on my next appointment. I'll take advantage of one of the massage therapy sessions as new patients get a $10 off discount, and my health insurance allows me to use massage and chiropractic services here with a single copay. I really liked this place until the doctor exposed my 4 month old daughter and entire family to Covid. The doctor knew she had symptoms and still chose to come to work, I was told that "to cure headaches we use chiropractic techniques first before testing for Covid". I would have appreciated at least the option to not come in based on the fact that she was showing symptoms. If you like to be pampered, space or a great hot stone massage, this is not the place for you. To say it is small is a gross understatement! I suggest you use the restroom before going as the facilities are absolutely claustrophobic. The massage room I was in was equally small & the massage was mediocre at best. Additionally it only lasted 38 minutes! When I asked why it wasn't an hour as advertised, the receptionist explained that it was an hour slot...so the time I sat in the tiny waiting room, the bathroom vist, taking off my clothes AND putting them back on all counted towards my hour! A Groupon for a $30 hot-stone massage introduced me to Optimal Wellness, but shortly after purchasing I hurt my lower back and called in desperation to make an appointment with Dr. Walter. The receptionist kindly fit me right in and after a careful assessment of my problem Dr. Walter did an adjustment and gave me advice on stretches and other ways to handle my problem. I've been feeling better ever since. I have seen Dr. Walter three times for maintenance adjustments since then, and am always happy with the results. Dr. Walter has a caring and personable demeanor and is happy to explain what she's doing so you can understand your body better. I also never feel like she is suggesting that I come in more often than I'd like, a complaint that I've heard about other chiropractors. Dr. Walter suggested that I might benefit more from a deep tissue massage than the hot stone massage I had purchased, and that I could pay an additional $10 and upgrade my Groupon. Since then I have had two massages, both of which were hands down the best massages I have ever had--they not only felt good, they felt like they were part of my treatment plan to improve the way my neck and back and shoulders are working together. Optimal Wellness has a number of great deals which keep me coming back--when I first visited I was given coupons for discounted adjustments and massages which have made all of my sessions more affordable. I just bought two gift certificates for hour-long massages for $35, which is an unbeatable deal. In addition, Dr. Walter believes so strongly in making health care affordable for all that she offers deeply discounted sessions on the first Tuesday of every month. It's this kind of generosity that sets Dr. Walter and Optimal Wellness apart. The atmosphere is one of a warm and friendly neighborhood doctor's office, not a deluxe spa, but the treatment rooms are pleasant and I have found both massage rooms neat, clean and relaxing. We arrived on time for our morning appointment and sat there for 30 minutes waiting. I then asked the receptionist if she knew how much longer she would be, she said she was coming right out. Then when she did, she took another patient back who was already waiting - essentially meaning I would be expected to wait another 30 minutes! Definitely not going to sit there an hour with my newborn! I can understand running late in the afternoon or evening, but not early morning. Beyond that, they receptionist was working during the weekend and you would have thought they could make a courtesy call to let you know they were running behind. After I walked out, the receptionist had the nerve to call me and ask if I wanted to reschedule??? If you don't mind waiting forever, this may be the place for you. I've visited numerous chiropractors in town, and I've the relief I've found coming to Optimal Wellness is above and beyond and other experience. Every time I leave here, I feel like I just walked out of a massage, even if I just go in for an adjustment. I've suffered for years with TMJ, and I can't believe that the pain isn't there anymore. They truly know their stuff! Dr. Kendra is so sweet and welcoming, and she's great with kids, too. I've seen a few of the doctors here, and you can't go wrong with any of them. As others mentioned they are very kid-friendly and specialize in chiropractic for children and for pregnant women as well. My daughter turns into a wet noodle when she gets her gentle adjustment! The only negative thing I have to say is that their parking lot is a tight squeeze, but it's worth having to Austin Powers your car back and forth when the experience inside the office is this good!
