I have been suffering from low back pain and neck pain with very limited mobility. When I first walked in, I was first struck by what a comfortable atmosphere the place has. Next, I was given an extremely thorough exam, then an incredible treatment that included relaxing heat and amazing massage! I was introduced to some simple stretches and mobility exercises. Instead of going for just the required five visits, I have been going weekly for two months now and my neck mobility has nearly DOUBLED! I still have low back pain (I have a condition they can't fix), but the weekly treatment is a life saver. Honestly, I can't say enough about how fantastic Mike, Hannah, and Chris are. Truly a stellar experience each and every time. They all go above and beyond and are so skillful. I can't recommend them enough!

This review is specifically for Adventist Home Health's Physical Therapy Program…read more I was hit by a car in January 2026, where I suffered a traumatic foot injury and had multiple related surgeries. I spent a week in the hospital and once discharged, I was assigned a home health care physical therapist, who came to my home weekly. I was fortunate to work exclusively with Tony DeMuri from 1/28 to 8/12/26. He worked with me where he would set weekly goals for me to achieve, and was extremely patient and supportive to me in my recovery journey. During my healing, there were times when my progress didn't seem to be improving as quickly as I had hoped, but he was always very motivating and never made me feel like I wasn't doing a good job in making strides along the way. He worked with me for over 6 1/2 months where I was non-weight bearing for 3 months and using a walker, to helping me learn to reuse my foot by increasing the amount of weight I could add to it. We then moved from a medical boot to a regular shoe, learning to walk with a cane, and eventually taking me on walks through my neighborhood without one. I truly feel that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have come this far, and had questioned at one point whether I would be permanently handicapped. I have now graduated from home healthcare to outpatient therapy based on my mobility improvements, thanks to his coaching, and am very grateful for his guidance and support. Having had meh experiences with physical therapists in the past I was not convinced but a friend with similar neck issues urged me to make an appointment so I did. As soon as he started working with me I knew he was a healer and I've gone to him for various problems ever since, the most significant was a frozen shoulder that he moved from 15% range of motion to 90% in three sessions. The exercises he gave me got me to 100% a month later. I'd been told by my shoulder surgeon and several other professionals I'd seen that my frozen shoulder would last from six to 24 months. My daughter who, at the age of thirteen, had a rod put into her spine to correct severe scoliosis was ready for a second surgery three years later. I took her to Dennis and she was nearly pain free and motivated to stay on top of the stretching and exercises he'd given her. For the first time in her life she's gotten into a daily physical fitness routine based on Dennis's recommendations and she continues to feel great. I've had my soccer-playing twin 14-year-old boys see him. They were both amazed at how quickly he got them feeling pain free and limber again (one session each). My wife had plantar fasciitis and was unable to get around without a huge amount of pain. She went to see Dennis and that night we walked ten blocks and she said "I feel ten years younger." I cannot recommend Dennis enough. While his work is often painful, he has an intrinsic knowledge of exactly what is needed and has redefined for me how much healing is possible from physical therapy alone.

The last few years have seen me collect shoulder injuries like merit badges. Are my shoulders the canaries in the coal mine, telling me to chill out? Maybe! But that's not the point of this review... the point of this review is to sing the praises of Proactive Physical Therapy's Gateway location. I want to specifically give a shout out to Jenny, who is one of the best PTs I've ever worked with. Too many times PTs will read the diagnosis from the doctor, throw you some exercises, and call it a day. Not Jenny! Jenny takes your injury on as her own personal mystery to solve and uses every tool at her disposal to solve the mystery and heal your body. She is great about listening and asking questions to understand what YOU think is going on, and then does her own investigation to dig in and figure it out. Everyone's body works differently and thus heals differently, and I can tell Jenny takes a personalized approach to each patient and is truly invested in helping you get your body back to where you want it to be. I thought time would heal me, but three years later I still couldn't hike and I had even started changing/limiting plans when I felt like there would be more walking than my foot could handle. Last fall, I found myself at Forest Park with a friend, and I had to return to the car after ~1/4 mile. That was rough. Then I met Dr. Bradley Brown, and under his care I've made so so much improvement in the THREE MONTHS that we've worked together. I'm not a 'gym guy' and I'm pretty 'body unaware,' so I was really dreading being asked to show my PT how I moved and how I did the exercises he assigned me. But that was never a problem with Bradley, he's so positive and encouraging, and he's great at giving the kind of instructions/cues I need to do my exercises correctly. I look forward to my PT appointments - words I thought I'd never say. This summer, I expect to be back on the mountains. When I get to the top of my first one, after three long years, I'm going to yell a 'thank you' to Bradley so loud, I hope he hears me.
