Previous to coming to Renew, my experiences over the past twenty years when needing physical…read moretherapy was useless, substandard, and seemed like one more money-making scheme in the medico-insurance industry. Renew is the exact opposite. Their treatments and techniques as well as their level of knowledge and experience has simply been amazing. Every single staff member is fantastic at what they do. Seriously though, if you need physical therapy, just go here. You'll be happy you did.

Until going to Renew, all of my experiences with PT were the same: walk into a giant room and do…read moresome exercises with very little personal attention. I really didn't believe in its helpfulness anymore. But recently I was required to attend some PT sessions in order to qualify for an MRI so I went to Renew... WOW! What a difference!! I have been suffering from low back pain and neck pain with very limited mobility. When I first walked in, I was first struck by what a comfortable atmosphere the place has. Next, I was given an extremely thorough exam, then an incredible treatment that included relaxing heat and amazing massage! I was introduced to some simple stretches and mobility exercises. Instead of going for just the required five visits, I have been going weekly for two months now and my neck mobility has nearly DOUBLED! I still have low back pain (I have a condition they can't fix), but the weekly treatment is a life saver. Honestly, I can't say enough about how fantastic Mike, Hannah, and Chris are. Truly a stellar experience each and every time. They all go above and beyond and are so skillful. I can't recommend them enough!

Don't go to this place.... Dr. Kane is unprofessional and…read moreincompetent at best. He wrote out 2 work release documents and they were both different and said I could do things that I actually couldn't after being in 2 car accidents within 6 months both not my fault. He said he was going to prescribe lidocaine patches "that I could put anywhere" but he never did. Told me to go on Amazon and buy a Theracane, that he just bought one for his Dad and he loves it. He sent me on my way without ever truly examining me. I left and never went back, seen another doctor who confirmed I have a bulging disc in my back and later discovered I also had a labral tear in my hip. Had he actually cared enough to examine me and be a quality doctor he would've found these things out. Now 7 months later I'm contacted by Julie the billing manager who was unprofessional and rude telling me she needs my private insurance information because my pip is exhausted and they denied the claim, I give it to her and SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I tried calling back several times and she wouldn't answer the phone. I contacted my auto insurance company that confirmed that they never sent a bill until January 15th 2025, I was seen there in July 2024. They made a mistake and now are extremely rude to me like it's my fault or something. They had plenty of time to submit it and get it paid. This place is horrible and super shady. Seek care elsewhere and save yourself from this place.

As a life-long weekend warrior (you can pry my youth from my cold, dead hands!), I have seen my…read morefair share of PT offices over the years. Like, I've lost track. The last few years have seen me collect shoulder injuries like merit badges. Are my shoulders the canaries in the coal mine, telling me to chill out? Maybe! But that's not the point of this review... the point of this review is to sing the praises of Proactive Physical Therapy's Gateway location. I want to specifically give a shout out to Jenny, who is one of the best PTs I've ever worked with. Too many times PTs will read the diagnosis from the doctor, throw you some exercises, and call it a day. Not Jenny! Jenny takes your injury on as her own personal mystery to solve and uses every tool at her disposal to solve the mystery and heal your body. She is great about listening and asking questions to understand what YOU think is going on, and then does her own investigation to dig in and figure it out. Everyone's body works differently and thus heals differently, and I can tell Jenny takes a personalized approach to each patient and is truly invested in helping you get your body back to where you want it to be. Big thanks to Jenny and everyone at Proactive Gateway who have helped get me back on my feet.

He did a very thorough exam and explained the ins and outs of what he was looking for and what I did and did not have. He then supplied me with "the exercises" and had me go through them thoroughly to make sure I understood them. I thought time would heal me, but three years later I still couldn't hike and I had even started changing/limiting plans when I felt like there would be more walking than my foot could handle. Last fall, I found myself at Forest Park with a friend, and I had to return to the car after ~1/4 mile. That was rough. Then I met Dr. Bradley Brown, and under his care I've made so so much improvement in the THREE MONTHS that we've worked together. I'm not a 'gym guy' and I'm pretty 'body unaware,' so I was really dreading being asked to show my PT how I moved and how I did the exercises he assigned me. But that was never a problem with Bradley, he's so positive and encouraging, and he's great at giving the kind of instructions/cues I need to do my exercises correctly. I look forward to my PT appointments - words I thought I'd never say. This summer, I expect to be back on the mountains. When I get to the top of my first one, after three long years, I'm going to yell a 'thank you' to Bradley so loud, I hope he hears me.
