Went there and n a whim as I was passing by. Walked in without an appointment. They took me right away. Lya did my nails. Turns out I needed a new set. The ones I had from a previous place were all lifted and had fungus due to the lifting. She was able to cut my nail back to remove them. Thank God! She did a great job!! Even got a little nail art! Leah and Andy always do a great job and I just went there today and the place looks different from the last time I went. There are more pedicure chairs and more staff it's really nice to see them elevating more into the business. Only thing I recommend is air conditioning and maybe even advancing there pedicure selection and updating there payment system to Apple Pay to make easier for people to pay. I made an appointment for a pedicure and refill. When I got there, I sat for my pedicure with an older woman I had never seen before. I told her that I wanted my toenails short because sometimes they can leave them rather long and they hurt me when I am on my feet all day in my shoes. I came in open toe shoes. I had to stop her from cutting them any shorter because she did not know when to stop !!! The Nails on my big toes were so short, freakishly short ! Did she think this was an attractive look ?! They were even cut unevenly on the right big toe and left that way.... how do you do that and think it is okay?! Obviously, I plan on people seeing them. Brain tumor, dementia, what possible excuse is there except that she is not qualified in the first place. I have serious doubts that she could have passed any licensing, period. Then they offer me a beverage ? Really ? I want my nails back, screw the beverage. Then charge me $42 for a pedicure that I could have gotten somewhere else with better care and knowledge of what to and not to do ? Not any better luck with the refill. read more

I'm giving them 2 stars only because I have been going there for years. I used to love it there. When I would arrive Andy and Leah would call me by name, ask how things were, just great rapport. I recommended friends there I was so happy with the service and treatment. I won't be doing that again. I noticed a change in the service months ago. But, I chalked it up to just a busy time for them. First, the wait got longer and longer-going from about 1 1/2 hours check-in to check-out to over 3 hours consistently. I scheduled an appointment to see if it made a difference and I was still there over 3 hours. Good for them, I thought. Business must be good. Then, the service started to get shoddy. Not listening when I would ask for something specific, not fine tuning the manicure, then not manicuring my nails at all. They would remove the dip, put it on (not really shaping my nails unless I pointed it out), drape a hot towel over my hands for a few seconds and then briefly slather lotion on and send me on my way. I would find clumpy dip, over applied clear coat forming a ridge around where my nail and skin meet. So, I stopped going there for a bit. But, Saturday I was in need of my nails done and I thought I would give them a try again. Maybe they got things straightened out. Nope. The service still sucks. I showed the design and initially the technician forgot to leave my accent nail white for the base of the design. As I had an event to attend I told her it was fine. Just move forward thinking she would add the white later (the white is what made the design pop). But, nope. She completely derailed from the design layout I had shown her. (I never expect them to replicate the design perfectly, but it should be in the same neighborhood) I don't care for it but I was willing to let it go. Then I went to check out. My nails were more expensive that they ever had been there. For the same service I had always received. The technician explained that it always cost x amount for the design and there was always an up-charge for the matte finish. I know what I have always paid. If she had informed me at any point that there had been an increase in price I would have been fine. But, she tried to act like I had no idea how much my nails cost previously. She even went so far as to deny the increase in price. So, I got nails I hated, for more money than I had ever paid before there. I really wish them the best and hope that they realize the error of their ways before it's too late. As for me, I will continue going to the salon that I have been frequenting in the interim. I refuse to return to an establishment that has such little regard for me as a customer. read more

I went to get a mani and pedi done and even made an appointment. I then showed up 5 mins early and see only 3 people working. I proceeded to pick a color and then waited then they sat me at the pedi bath and had me wait A WHOLE HOUR before even starting. She did a ok job on my toes. Parts of my nail had too much polish and flooded the cuticle and other parts didn't have any... then i asked the lady TWICE for a GEL MANICURE and she put dip powder on my nails which is sooooooo nasty. The entire time she smiled at me as she dipped my fingers in the powder than dozens of other hands have been in so unsanitary. I didn't say anything because i gave up at that point i just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. And then she proceeded to put way too much on my nails and shaped them terribly. When trying to get it off my actual mail it was borderline impossible and took over a hour to soak off at another salon and my nails are now ruined and i will need to wait months to get another manicure. I will never ever ever be returning to Optima Nail ever again. Yesterday I got my nails done by Andy when I made an appointment at 11am with Leah but she just never came out to do my nails and did lashes all day!!!!!!.. so mind you I wanted them to be perfect because they're my birthday nails. My birthday is July 2nd. Long story short, Andy did my nails red with red chrome like I wanted and they came out HORRIBLY and they were $52. I called in and said I hated them and needed them fixed and was charged all over again. So $134 later I am satisfied with my nails that are now fixed. But I should not have not been charged again when I absolutely despised the way they were done the first time around. Optima used to be my favorite place on earth but today I left the salon in fucking tears. (Sidenote: I got my toes done and was fighting back tears because the lady who was doing them was too rough and cut too much cuticle off so my right big toe was burning so bad) All I care about on my birthday are my nails and I'm unhappy af. So unhappy I don't even want to do anything for my birthday anymore. My nails are my thing and the experience I had this year was horrible. From now on I will be making appointments with Tha Kim in Pottstown. Goodbye optima. You have lost one loyal ass paying customer. I will post before and after pictures. Some of the staff is fantastic (Leah is great!) But others are subpar. There is one guy who is really unsteady and will leave streaks in the polish etc. They also seem to charge differently each time, I've been uncharged multiple times by some staff (charging a design fee if I have one nail another color but still solid) etc. It's an unpredictable place but you can get lucky with great service at reasonable prices sometimes but not always. It's frustrating to pay up to $15 difference at different times. read more

I found this place through reviews on Yelp so decided to give it a try. For $27 you get a pedicure which includes a paraffin treatment which I've never had. They do a really nice job as well ( I get the pedicures). I've also gotten my eyebrows waxed and they turned out really nice. read more

Very disappointing experience this past weekend I was overcharged for nail designs it cost me 12 for two designs when it normally should cost no more than half that. I questioned it and the technician looked confused she went to ask another tech who didn't respond so she came up with oh well it's rhinestones so that cost more definitely not worth 12 bucks. They are personable and my nails are healthy and happy. They are full service and have exposed me to treatments I was not aware of, and could not be more pleased about. I went to Optima a few years ago when there were different owners and I always left with Okay nails, now I go into Optima and have Andy do my gel manicure and he is THE BEST! I never leave unhappy and my nails always look amazing! I really love that they know their customers, every time I go in with my little sisters they are so nice to them, and when I don't bring them along they always ask how they are doing. If you go for a pedicure be prepared to sit in water for at least 45 minutes. I asked how long the wait was and they said not that long. They brought me back to the chair within five minutes of arrival however I sat with my feet in the water for 45 minutes. At least they refilled the tub after I asked because the initial water became cold. read more

They charge people different prices depending on who you are. My daughter got charged extra for the same services her friends received on the same day. They didn't realize all three were together. It's a horrible way to conduct business. When my daughter simply pointed out the math was wrong according to their posted prices, they were rude instead of understanding or admitting they made a mistake. Today was absolutely horrible and handled with such a poor amount of professional care. Andy ( I believe the owner) continued putting his hand in my face after I asked if multiple times to stop, he the. Started spitting at me and threatened never to come back to his shop. All I did was ask why my friend couldn't get a refund because the nails he did on her were completely horrible and she left in tears and her birthday is in a few days. She called and they told her she could come back in today to get them re done free of charge and still ended up paying another full price for them within 2 days. Andy acted horrible and everyone acted confused as if they never told her this. I will never step foot in that place again. I was totally disrespected once when his hand was in my face and then another time when he continued to spit at not only me but my cousin as well. We spend good money in this shop every TWO WEEKS AS LOYAL CUSTOMERS and get treated this way. I never would have thought that for 1 Andy would do something like this and for 2 that everyone else in the shop would allow it. It was embarrassing and made my friends and I look bad due to his reaction because he couldn't deal with the fact she hated the nails he did on her. Shame in that whole place. I'm not bothered by being threatened to never come back they are not the only nail place around. I only left my old place because my friend spoke so highly about optima so I made the switch. They are all money hungry and don't care about the appointments being made they will have you sit in water for an hour maybe more before starting your pedicure just so you won't leave and they rush doing your nails because they have "higher paying clients" that are waiting behind you. I used to love this place now it's just horrible service. Stayed this long figured to give them a chance again but the last 3 times I've been there it has been an absolute disaster. I've been going to Optima Nail for a few years and have been very happy with the service. I've sent numerous friends there because of the good prices & service, but after this weekend, I won't be returning. This last visit I didn't recognize any of the staff, which makes me wonder if there has been a change in management. The pedicure was completely different than anything I've had before and they used some Dremel type tool on my foot which ended up causing a great deal of pain. The pedicure took over an hour and this was even after I said I didn't want a massage with some sort of electronic foot massager device. The paint job was terrible. Paint on my cuticles. Some nails not completely painted. And even after the pain she caused me, I was still charged full price. I used to be able to be in and out in an hour with both a manicure and a pedicure for $40 and be quite satisfied. Instead, I got a shoddy pedicure which will need to be redone and didn't even bother with the manicure for fear it would be just as terrible and take yet another hour. I'll be finding a new place, which is a shame, because I've been a loyal customer for years. read more

She WAXED OFF 1/4 OF MY EYEBROW LEAVING THEM UNEVEN, SHORTENED AND QUITE FRANKLY SHE HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE BUSINESS. I went back yesterday to show her the missing eyebrow, which at 50 years old is not a good situation. She denied that she waxed off that much ( which she did). This establishment is nice, clean, and close to my home. When I decided to go their for a Gel Manicure I figured it was a good choice until the very moment I walked through the door. As an African America woman, I was stereotyped and it showed all over the technician's face and was evident in the tone of her voice. She proceeded to tell me how much a Gel Manicure cost, which I was aware of from the sign posted on the wall. I asked if the salon did 3D designs, to which she looked at me like I was crazy. I showed her the design I already had on my finger to which she glanced at and said "Yes". I said okay, and asked where their gel color selections were. She proceeded to walk to the back and I had to find the colors myself. She came out from a back room and told me that the designs would be $6 for each nail... Again, I did not ask for a price check. I sat down and let her begin her work. During which she asked me to take my purse off the nail station and place it on the floor... I never place my bag on the floor and have never been asked to at any other salon. I placed the bag on my lap. She took her time wrapping my already gel nails in foil and proceeded to ask me what color I wanted. I noticed a design that would look nice and selected it. Her response was "On all your nails? That's expensive!" At this point I had to bite my tongue. I told her that I didn't ask for a price. In fact I wanted the designs along with the 3D design. She got up from the chair with no response and proceeded to clean a pedicure station. She walked around the salon talking under her breath. I asked her if there was a problem and she said "No". I politely told her that I would like her to finish taking the gel color off my nails but that I would be going elsewhere to get my nails done. She did not complain or try to convince me otherwise. A man, her manager I'm guessing, asked me if I wanted to continue getting my nails done. I told him absolutely not. I let her finish the service paid her $10 and got up. I asked a man, the manager, at the front if he owned the salon, when he told me yes, I told him this... "I suggest that you talk to your workers about respecting your clients. From the moment I walked into you salon I experienced nothing but racism and ridicule. My suggestion is that you and your workers treat your African American clients the same way you treat your Caucasian clients". read more

When I arrived there was a man standing at the door locking up at 2pm, he stated they are not open on Tuesdays so I turned around to leave. He quickly told me to come back and asked what I wanted done, I told him a pedicure and he told me to come in and he would do it. He immediately started rushing around trying to get some things together and told me to sit at one of the chairs. Things started out good but his phone kept ringing and he would answer it without taking off his gloves and then go back to touching my feet as he was talking on the phone. He then gets up and runs to the back while still on the phone. Comes back with a glass jar filled with some type of gel and dumps it on my leg and foot, it was so hot I screamed as it was burning my skin. He tried to rub it off quickly but the damage was done, I now have blisters on the top of my foot and leg. After that he apologized but tried to change the subject with small talk as he continued the pedicure. I kept telling him my foot was really burning but he kept going and even tried to put my foot into a bag filled with hot paraffin wax. I really feel he was just trying to rush through it since they weren't even supposed to be open and now I'm in pain. On top of that he still charged me $65 and never offered any discount for hurting me.
