The most important and astounding thing I can say about Dr Fischer is that I trust him completely…read more It's astounding because growing up in the army I developed a deeply ingrained distrust of everything about the medical profession. In army hospitals, malpractice often took the lives of service members but it wasn't limited to them. Sometimes it was a child of a service member like myself who died. When I chose Dr Fischer I didn't have any doubts about his skills, but it was what I saw of the man during my first appointment that let me know I was truly safe. Dr Fischer has a genuinely good and caring heart. I think it's what drives him to stay at the top of his profession so he can give each patient the best care available. But what nearly brought me to tears was when he whipped out his phone at the end of my first exam so he could find the pharmacy with the best prices for my medication since I'm uninsured. I haven't even had my surgery yet but feel that I owe him so much.

I am a retired health care provider who had an eye injury during my stay here in FL. I was a little nervous about going to a new practice, since I have the utmost confidence in my eye doctor in the DC area, who I've seen for 30 years. But I must say, the two doctors who examined me here were extremely thorough and diligent. I was totally impressed with their attention to detail and concern. In addition, they both had great bedside manners. The women at the front desk were extremely friendly and comforting as well. Very impressed! Thank you for your excellent patient care!

Most eye doctors up north will do cataract surgery for what your insurance covers, but not here. Instead, they'll sell you a lens for anywhere from $800 to $3,500 in addition to what your insurance will pay. And if it doesn't work the way you hoped after spending that money, they'll happily try to sell you another pricey lens. Makes you wonder how much it actually costs to make that little plastic lens.

In the beginning of October, I visited MyEyeDr. in Winterhaven, Florida, to schedule an appointment…read morefor my husband. I presented the office with his insurance card and all the necessary information. Today was his scheduled appointment date, November 7th, so he left work early to be seen. Upon arrival, he was presented with the same paperwork I had filled out earlier. He was also asked to show his insurance card, which I had given them during the appointment setup process. This was unusual, so I brought it to their attention that I had already completed all the necessary tasks. They explained that it was standard protocol to complete these tasks on the day and time of the appointment. After reviewing the paperwork again, they called him to the desk and informed him that he needed to contact his insurance company to verify his eye coverage. In reality, these tasks should have been completed before his appointment. I informed them that they should have completed these assignments before his appointment and that he should have received a phone call if they were unable to do so. They responded that this was their standard procedure and that these tasks should be completed on the day and time of all appointments. We eventually called his insurance company to check if the paperwork had been accepted, and it had been. However, it had to be in paper form, not electronic. Unfortunately, this meant that he was unable to be seen. This would have been acceptable if they had not set up his appointment, received his insurance card during the month prior, and not called him in advance to inform him of this information in October. Smh save yourself time, and frustration and go elsewhere.

When I tried to explain the tech and I aren't messing this is your response. I find her to be rude and unprofessional. If this is who they have managing people, they probably need to rethink who they have there. My second tech was great and my doctor was OK but overall, I probably will never go back there.
