What do you mean text isn't meant to be blurry?! Yeah, turns out I'm slightly blind and I had no idea until I was sitting in the chair trying to guess if the tiny letter on the wall was an E or a B and a D or an O. (FYI, I totally guessed a D in a slight moment of panic and it turned out to be correct! Good one, Brain.)
OPSM is now in the same building as Australia Post and Woolworths, which is right at the end of Jetty Road. (Brighton Road end)
This was my first appointment since I was 16, so I was a bit nervous going by myself. The last optometrist I saw didn't explain anything and the selection of glasses weren't the most fashionable.
The optometrist I saw was Robert Seiler. He was really friendly and explained everything well. You can have a couple more tests done, for a smallish extra fee but I opted out this time.
It turns out my random correct guessing of the small text didn't fool anyone. I was helped by a lovely assistant, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, and chose a fashionable pair of reading glasses. They have what I'd say is a perfect amount of choices.
All up, the entire appointment (including the glasses and $29 insurance on them) was meant to cost $400, but thanks to Medicare and Bupa, I only spent $200! Bupa gives you 20% off your glasses :)
So if you're in need of an eye test, I'd definitely recommend this OPSM. read more
