Considering that I don't really know where many of the Optometrists are in Adelaide except for the…read moreodd OPSM, Laubman & Pank needs to be considered also. It looks like they offer a large variety of eye glasses, but I must explain how awesome the customer service attendant behind the counter was towards me. Ask for Melissa, she's actually the Assistant Store Manager. Melissa has customer service abilities that could save mankind (well some of us anyway) and her phone and communication skills puts any call centre consultant to shame. I explained to her that as a son, I didn't want my Dad waiting for two months before he got seen by his eye specialist (the eye specialist my Dad has is very popular and busy that you have to book at least two months in advance, so we had to re-strategise). She's so dang understanding that even after our discussion, I find myself blabbing away about how she truly wanted to help my Dad's eyes or how she agreed with my strategies. Fortunately for her, my Dad is a loyal customer who didn't lose faith in their company. Was it the way she really listened to me? Was it the fact that she put up with my disagreements? Sure. She was fantastic. But of all the worthy qualities Melissa demonstrated, nothing turned me on more than her genuine care towards my Dad's eyes and went the extra mile for me. A woman who cares about helping my dear Dad -- even if not by her own ideas, but by her carefully listening to me, will always win my heart. (hmm....girls who listen to me turn me on!)

These guys supply high end frames for eye glasses. To put you in the picture, think The Optical…read moreSuperstore and now go to the opposite end of the scale and you have The Opt Shop. If you like quality and in need of a new pair of glasses, these are the guys you should go and see. They stock brands including Oliver Peoples (worn by all the beautiful people in Hollywood), Prada, Chanel, Bvlgari ... you get the idea. What I like about the Opt Shop is that the staff realise you're about to spend a mozza on your new glasses and give you some pretty good advice when it comes to what suits and what doesn't suit your particular face shape. The Opt Shop is actually a bit of a one stop shop when it comes to your eyes. You can get your eyes tested here, they will write and fill your prescription, you can also get contact lenses (yay!) and they do repairs if you happen to bend or sit on your existing glasses (but it's probably best not to sit on them if you can help it). The staff are friendly, well trained and the know their stuff. Its not cheap but buying glasses never is so why not Opt for the best you can get.

For all of you Yelpers out there who were under the impression that I was perfect, I am afraid I…read morehave to shatter your world to pieces. I am in fact not perfect! You see, although I have eyes the colour of the most beautiful blue sky you have ever seen, they don't work too well! That right, I am pretty much blind without my specs. But, and this goes without saying, The Scott has impeccible taste and takes quite some time in searching for the perfect pair of glasses to frame the dreamy windows into his soul. One store, where I have spent many an hour is Opt Shop down in the dungeons of the David Jones building. The selection size is comparable, if not smaller than most stores, but it is the quality that counts.....and quality they have! There are some super funky, classy and just plane awesome frames, plus some that you would expect to see on Elton John. Just one word in passing though.....make sure you are cashed up!

Innovative Eye Care- Adelaide - My first visit I just wandered in off the street and waited, but it's best to make an appointment.

Mark Parsons and Kevin Rooney are your friendly Opticians at North Terrace Optometrists, and they…read morewill happily check your eyesight as well as discuss the sort of options you have with all the new technologies available to those requiring glasses or contact lenses. They have quite a good range of frames for new glasses, and a reasonably fast turnaround for delivery. A pair of glasses is a very personal thing, and these days they do not come particularly cheap but these guys are pretty affable and will allow you to make a series of payments so you are not stuck with a big lump sum all at once to pay for new glasses. Let's face it, you are lucky to get away with a new pair of glasses for under $1000.00 if you are buying new frames along with the lenses, so if you are on a low income or even a moderate income it is nice to know you can pay it over a few weeks. This is why I have been and returned to these guys; along with the fact that they have been very supportive of people on a low income whom I have brought in for an eye checkup. If you have a Medicare Card it is a minimal cost. Once you have found a decent optician it is good to stay with them because there is a lot to be said about continuity in these situations. Friends of mine who have required glasses for shortsightedness have been able to get a new pair of glasses with frames for under $200.00 so if you are on the pension or unemployment benefits, don't let their swank address in North Terrace put you off, they're worth a visit, and it is definitely worth discussing your situation and needs before you sit down for the actual eye test, just to let them know what's what. It is best to make an appointment, but I have no doubt you'll get a look in if you just wander in off the street like I did the very first time, you may have to wait for twenty minutes, but that's not too long under those sorts of circumstances; otherwise obviously, book an appointment.

I feel bad writing this because Montana was so sweet, nice, clean and professional with me, but I…read moream unhappy with my eyebrows. She didn't seem to measure my face/eyebrows with exact measurements like I have seen others do. It left me with a really nice eyebrow and a bad one. The width of the eyebrows is the same, but on my right eye, the strokes start up slightly higher then on the left and they go above my hair line. It looks so weird especially after a few months even with eyebrow make up. The middle of my eyebrows also come in considerably shorter on one side. When she did the drawing first, I said the inside looks weird on one of the sides and she said that's because I have more hair there. I didn't notice the height difference because I was concerned with the middle of my brow. When it was healed, it still looked shorter because the strokes are much thicker and intense then my little hairs. It wasn't fixable at the touch up appointment because it would have made the height difference more obvious. When one thing is misplaced it's a domino effect for the rest of the brow. The strokes healed on me (and on others on her instagram) reaaaally thick, thicker then other artists, so if the stroke is where you have no hair it is really obvious. I have had one laser tattoo removal session at VCI, it cost me $600 and I need 3-5 more sessions for it to be completely gone. You can get it cheaper, but I'm scared cheapo laser places will make my hairs fall out permanently. My schedule and budget cannot allow for me to continue laser at this point so I look ugly with a bare face. But it is light enough for me to cover with makeup now. I don't think I will get microblading in general again after this. I noticed it makes girls look more masculine without makeup anyway.. with the heavy brows and bare eyes. Unless I had legit no eyebrows I wouldn't get it. You can be beautiful with sparse eyebrows. Look at Bella Hadid and Karlie Kloss. BTW: No microblading artist seems to make this clear enough but they are NOT semi permanent. All cosmetic tattooing leaves something behind forever. I can tell with me some spots have entered very deep layers of my skin. My advice if you are considering microblading: Try improving your skin, weight (baby face), teeth and hair before getting microblading, you will be a lot prettier with those and you probably won't feel like you need it. Experiment with professional eyebrow shaping and tinting too. If you still want it, research the best artists in your country/city, and make sure you LOVE them, not just that they are 'good enough' or the best you can find at this time. And make sure they post pictures of both eyebrows together. A lot only take a pic of one brow, or both brows on an angle because they aren't symmetrical enough. Be very very picky and take your time analysing the drawing of your eyebrows before your artist starts microblading. Good luck.

Like the previous reviewer, I feel bad writing this as Montana is a nice person with some seemingly…read moregreat results and happy clients; I'm sadly not one of those. I had a lip tattoo with Montana in March 2019. I learned big lessons here 1. Research research research. Don't just get excited and do this semi-impulsively- sit with the decision for a few months and see if you really still want it. These are FACE TATTOOS. 2. Just bc an artist has lovely images of brow microblading, does not mean they're skilled at other types of permanent makeup 3. There are very few healed photos of lips on her site- just after the procedure vs healed can look extremely different 4. Lip tattoos are unlike any other tattoo (lip skin is different) and there are very few skilled artists that do this. Per the photo attached, I wound up with a gross tattoo, extremely unnatural, terribly blended, in a unnatural colour. I was 100% not going for a lip liner look, this was not at all what we discussed. I spoke to a few laser tattoo removal specialists and learned that you can't remove lip tattoos. I was stuck with this really bad lip liner - everyday i wished I could just wipe it off!! I never went a day without covering it up. Lip tattoos take at least 2 x sessions - for some reason Montana likes to tell ppl it sometimes/often takes only 1 session (her pricing structure is built this way too). She also mentions on her pages (and at the session) how "you can go out straight after, no down time!!" Um no, I looked like a RHWOM x blowfish for a good 4+ days, followed by a week of peeling like a rotting zombie. Everyone heals differently- if she'd have been up front about this (perhaps in her limited lip experience, she really didn't know) it would have saved me a lot of freaking out in the first couple of weeks. She did offer to do a correction at no charge, but my confidence in her was shot so I eventually forked out another $700 to have it fixed elsewhere. My new artist was way more experienced and I had a great result. Healing was a much gentler experience too. Please do your research.
