One volunteer in particular is very rude. She acts like she's doing you a favor. Made me wait and took care of three people that came in behind me. Very snippy mouth . Not going back !!! read more

This little shop is a hidden gem of beautiful finds. They have beautiful designer clothing for ladies of all ages and sizes. Wonderful menswear, pocketbooks, household items, collectors items and much more. It's such an organized, clean and neat store and the workers there are so very helpful. I guarantee you will not be able to resist purchasing their items. It's a fun and pleasant store to visit. I highly recommend a visit. read more

Usually find something that makes a trip worthwhile, whether it be collectibles, toys or clothing, a true thrift store , already reasonably priced, and prices are reduced 20% after 2 weeks , and 50% if the item has been sitting a month Its a clean enough space, ladies are nice ...but they only have street parking which can sometimes be hard to find a spot. read more

Back in May of this year my husband was tasked with cleaning out his late mother's home. We had looked online for places to donate many of the home furnishings(bric-a-brac) that his family had not wanted. I came across the Opportunity Shop & read the reviews & we decided to give them a shot. My husband grew up in Chappaqua & knew of the Opportunity Shop. The people that were there were very nice & grateful for al the things that we had to donate to the store. All in all we made 4 trips to the store four days in a row & every time the staff that was working that day in the store was helpful & very pleasant & happily received all the things that we needed to donate! We even gave them the large plastic bins(with lids) that we had loaded all the donated merchandise in. I would recommend this store to anyone who needs & has to donate anything. Nothing but good experiences since this terrific shop reopened. Donated many items after our Tag Sale for which the Women expressed their gratitude. Even asked if I wanted to consign some items rather than donate them. Recently consigned for the first time and was treated very well by everyone. I love shopping here!! read more

I am from out of state and this is now the second time I have stopped in this little thrift store. Every time I have been here there have been some interesting finds and I usually come out spending over $100 (I am a reseller). That being said, check out is a process especially if you have multiple sale items. If you need to keep track of what you spent you should write detailed notes or take a photo as it can be confusing when adding it all up. It is somewhat of a picker place, it's not perfectly kempt and most items are kind of tossed on the shelves. Definite only great deals and great sales here too! read more

The place seems a little dirty, but I've been there enough times and bought enough things to say that that doesn't really matter to me. It really just depends on the day- if you're lucky, there's a good chance you could find a diamond in the rough, whether it be an old necklace, set of mugs, or a nice belt. I agree that the women do seem rude sometimes, but I've had some friendly experiences with them, so it's okay. read more

The opportunity shop is a funky, dusty, unique and interesting store! Be prepared to wait a very long time to pay for something and don't be put off by the ladies behind the counter that sometimes ignore you or seem rude. It's a great place to find a halloween costume, a tacky silk shirt from the 70's, a glass ashtray or a random pack of stationary. It's less busy in the afternoon and they're only open until 4 except on thursdays when they're open until 5. Sundays they're closed. All the money goes towards the local temple so it's giving back to the community and if you find an item that's been there for a month and a day, it's half price! What could be better! read more

The store was dusty and dirty. The clothing was dirty and carried an odor. The owner was extremely rude. A true shame.

I love this thrift store the majority of the time. Most of the associates are friendly and helpful. However, a worker named Wendy is a despicable human being. When I tried consigning items with a friend she accused us of "scamming the system", claiming that since we came in the store together we we're not allowed to each have our own accounts. We have each used and paid for our own accounts for a while. This was not something new. We normally consign on Fridays, but today we decided to go on a Monday. I am told she is there Mondays and Wednesdays so if you can I would suggest you to avoid going on those days. She got very loud, aggressive, and disrespectful. She was practically yelling at us with a store full of customers. The other workers have told us in the past that people often consigned for their children with accounts in their names. These accounts cost money to open, and on top of it the store keeps 60%. It is by no means a scam to have separate entities consigning different goods. For us, we consign completely different items, we are not related, and we have different addresses. In my opinion, Wendy has no business being in retail because she clearly does not know the right way to speak to customers. Her comments were rude, slanderous, and pushed me to walk out of store holding my box full of consignments. Had I not had this interaction the store would have got a 4-5 star review. However, until she is gone I cannot, in good conscience, give the store any higher than a 3. read more

Get some good deals but the notes about some of the women there are spot on. DO NOT go on Wednesday!

Great finds. You have to dig and it is really hit or miss. Some of the ladies are rude but there are a couple of really sweet ones too. Go on Monday and Thursday afternoons. read more

My friend and I scored here today and the lady who was running the shop was so kind, helpful and patient. We will be back lots more. Nice stuff and so fun to pick through! The prices are very low and the quality of the items is superb. read more

A little dusty, a little dirty, but great finds overall. I have shopped there many times and one lady definitely needs a happy pill. The other volunteers are really wonderful and helpful when they can. Otherwise, I don't mind waiting, (especially on Thursday) to pay for something. read more
