I happened to stumble upon the Homewood's Paint Your Pet event and was SO happy I did! Since the…read moreeven was tailored to our pets, we had to submit photos prior and the outlines were set for us. My friend and I could request to sit next to each other when we purchased our seats. The prices were more than fair for the amount of work the instructors put in for this event! There was also another paint and sip party in the backroom, the place is larger than you expect looking from the outside. The location is easily accessible and had ample room for a party in the back while we painted our pets out front. Lisa and the other instructor (we only caught one of the instructor's names) were incredibly patient. As someone who isn't very talented in the art department, I didn't feel shamed when I had questions or ran into a problem that I couldn't fix. The two hours flew by and there were many laughs and smiles had by all. It's a really well kept area and I would definitely come back here for another event.

It is a bright and cheery location with plenty of room to roam. There are actually 2 paint rooms, one larger than the other. Both are decorated in a colorful and whimsical way! As far as food and drinks are concerned, this is a BYOB and bring your own food location, but they supply the plates, napkins, cups, and ice. Our instructor was fun and upbeat, making most anyone feel comfortable to attempt putting paint into canvas! In my group were people who had never done a paint and sip before, but their artwork still turned out beautifully.

I came in a little late with my friend, but the ladies running the show were all very nice and one of them even helped me catch up in time to win a Bingo during the first game. I was a little sad to discover that the Bingo staff ladies CANNOT accept tips... they were all very kind the night that I went. Also, the Bingo players that were there were all very kind and friendly! I had one player tell me there was free coffee and food (at a minimal charge) in the kitchen area, and a couple of other players who explained what the winning bingos would be for each round I participated in (super helpful for a first-timer and I'm extremely grateful). The free coffee was mediocre (I wasn't expecting LavAzza), but because it's free I'd definitely have a cup when I go back for more Bingo. For my first time, I liked this location for playing Bingo and I would definitely return because the people were all VERY friendly, and the building was cleanly, and not far from home. Some information I gathered: A stack of Bingo cards (3×3) was $15 Bingo Stampers were $1 Bonus Games were 2 for $5 (totally worth it/I won $500)

During the wedding planning, their staff was incredibly professional and easy to work with. We were able to meet with them a few times on conference calls, and they were very supportive of our wedding style and what we had envisioned. I'd always passed the place hopping off of the skyway from Chicago but always thought it looked like a creepy, empty place that could be the scene for a scary movie. The place actually is bigger and nicer on the inside than I thought. Held our graduation well and there was more than enough room for friends and family. Parking was a bit of a hassle but with an event like graduation, what's to be expected? We got ushered out of there quickly when it ended. However, I have also seen the Genesis Center used for major shows, such as the Ms. USA pageants that Trump brought to the city in the early 00's, which was top quality. So the Genesis Center can do really great shows, as the place has been kept up mainly due to the use of the Steelcats team. Yes, you are coming to Gary, IN for entertainment.
