First it was my fault for not reading the contract ( I'm grieving and needed a place asap). So I didn't know we were not suppose to bring drinks. Secondly, my family and guess were blocking this and that, they had to move their cars. I'm sure they were cooking up more dissatisfactions with my family. It became a nightmare. When I called for my deposit, (which I called everyday starting Monday), I couldn't get it back because of extensive clean up on the outside and they have pictures. What a lie to keep someone deposit. I personally think and feel because of the drink situation, (which we kept in the car and bought their drinks) they found everything possible to make us look bad.

The fest has numerous train layouts and a healthy assortment of vendors selling train memorabilia. It is also a good place to get train modeling advice and ideas. This is a great fest for train buffs but even more so for kids. Bring them all for a nice day in Homewood. Tours through a real locomotive engine and caboose are also available for the whole family. Best of all..the fest and tours are free.

My elderly grandfather had to park three blocks away in order to get to his house on 45th and King drive. We have emailed them with no response. Can you imagine shopping for groceries and you come home with your groceries and have to walk with them three or four blocks for a senior. We neighbors hate this place being here. Overall it was well attended, we enjoyed our food (they also have chicken if you don't feel like fish), and they had miller lite at the bar which is always good for me. They probably have other beers too, but I'm not that fancy anymore. The folks running the fry were very friendly and we met some other nice local folks and chatted with them while we ate and drank. The building itself is oldskool and homey. Like your grandparents basement bar/rec room. Overall, I'd recommend their public events if you want an opportunity to go meet some new people and get out of the house.

I had such a wonderful, fun experience at the Steel Yard last night!…read more I was at a San Francisco Giants game a couple of weeks ago and I honestly had more fun last night. It is a much more intimate and a community oriented experience. The stadium is beautiful. There were a lot of fun activities and events including dizzy bats, a tricycle race and my favorite thanks to two very enthusiastic participants ...the bubble balloon fight. It was also great to see so many kids participating in fun activities throughout the evening. The game was great and it was cool to see the Railcats put on a show and exit with a win. The food was excellent and I was surprised by the quality and variety. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The owners are doing an amazing job involving the community and creating such a endearing and fun experience for everyone in the area.

Its indeed a great field and always enjoyable so comes highly recommended. So it goes without saying that before my last experience and sixth game I would have gladly given a five star rating to the Gary Railcats stadium. However, after leaving my wallet at the consession stand this past game and it having been turned in within minutes without my cash it was dissapponting. I luckily asked enough staff members and was able to speak to the staff employee who found it and turned it in but believe he also stole my cash(it was either he or the manager in the box office). So despite being such a nice ball club, polite staff, great daily specials, nice gift shop and more its saddening to say the least.

We were told they couldn't provide that cuz then they would be out of soup. Okay... 1. It's your special of the week. Why isn't there enough for all your customers? 2. I understand that eventually you will run out. Why couldn't WE be the customers that you serve and then had no more soup? Then we say that we'll just take the one quart, if they could just divide it for us. Then they reply with THEY DON'T have enough containers. Like. What?! So we just order two bowls worth and leave. This is what I call business. I have no other words for it. They were super nice as they were providing bad service. And the place is clean. There is a lot for parking.
