I feel trusted and trusting in his space and can allow my deepest, truest voice to be heard in his presence. There's no judgement from him, only kindness that strives to stroll through some painful past experiences. Steven is a most trusting, helpful, and skilled healer (and an excellent writer too!) He is persistent yet mindful of boundaries. He will nudge you over that small roadblock of your mind and help you to realize how easy (or difficult) it was to overcome. Then you will learn how glad you are to have gone through it. The world seems like a different place after a session with Steven. There should be a sign in Steven's office - Disclaimer: Clarity and mindfulness may follow. Self-understanding, rejuvenation, growth, tranquility, confidence, and mental relief all come to mind. Steven will put years of experience, research, reading, writing, singing, and learning into the path of your winding river. Aptly named: Flow Healing Arts.

I also thought it could be some kind of emotional issue as well, I was desperate and tired of being hunched over like an old lady. What I got was so much more. Not only did my back pain go away, but I got major transformation to boot. My relationships have improved. I started dating (after being single for 2 years), and I'm feeling more present and "in-my-body" than I ever have before in my life. I think every person who wants real transformation should go see this guy. He's not only a genius at what he does, but he really walks the talk. He IS a really grounded, present, and open hearted guy. You just feel calm in his presence. It's a rare find to find a healer who seems to have some of their own stuff worked out, it gives you a lot of faith in what they're doing with you! Anyway, he's awesome. GO. Just...go.

We bought some children therapeutic toys from her only to be offered the same toys for sale the following session, just a week later. Pretended to "treat" the child without ever meeting the child. Provided suggestions without ever following up. If she had an actual office she wouldn't be able to sell the image of tranquility that she projects by seeing clients in her comfortable suburban house. It's a good marketing strategy that doesn't help those who seek professional services. A very disappointing experience.

I have a very open-minded, psychodynamic approach to therapy. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), and play therapy when I'm working with children. I have completed two master's programs at UNC-Chapel Hill in both clinical social work and recreation therapy. I've also had the good fortune to train with many leading experts on ADHD, sensory issues and temperament issues in children. Having a background in recreation therapy gives me a wonderful foundation for incorporating fun, meaningful play into sessions with children. My areas of specialization are working with children, adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression and ADHD, parenting issues, life transitions, adjustment to new parenthood (including postpartum depression), relationship counseling, school consultation, and support for families during separation/divorce. I utilize CBT, sensory play and art with children. My approach with adults is custom tailored to each client, but my background is in family systems, solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapies.

Her insights into why I sometimes get stuck are really helpful to me. She is grounded and evidence based, introducing me to various tools, attitudes and skill sets for managing my sometimes turbulent emotional landscape. But she also has great intuition and insight into mysteries of the heart and the need to respect and learn from our reptilian instincts without being controlled by that part of us. Jenna has a great balance between head and heart. Her vibe is confident, open to life and compassionate. She knows she has something good to offer and she skillfully brings that spirit to our conversations. I trust her and highly recommend her.

Link: http://bit.ly/2g0Zim5 I filed my complaint against Dr. Mary Baker-Sinclair with the NC Psychology Board in Boone, NC. I also filed a complaint against the board director of Chapel Hill Pediatric Psychology, Dr. David Riddle, who refused to listen to my grievances or meet with my children. During the treatment of my children Dr. Mary-Baker Sinclair has not been neutral and detached but has sided with only one parent's assessment as her own. This has occurred to such a degree that Dr. Mary Baker-Sinclair was not truthful and contradicted herself in court. She has either ignored or been unaware of current research; she has ignored the assessments of other therapists who actually spent time with myself and my children. She has ignored the assessment of my own therapist. She has ignored my efforts to communicate with her and has thwarted my attempts to meet with her as per court direction. Although I have complained to the president of Chapel Hill Pediatric Psychology, Dr. David Riddle, my complaints and those of my legal counsel fell on deaf ears. Most remarkable event: Dr. Baker-Sinclair advised the court, without a shred of evidence to support it, that she believes, along with the children's mother, that I am a "terrifying" person. For five years, she claimed that my daughter is afraid of me and insinuated in an affidavit that I may have behaved inappropriately towards my daughter. This was because during the only joint appointment in 2012 with Dr. Baker-Sinclair, my daughter and me, my daughter seemed to be afraid of Dr. Baker-Sinclair, refused to speak to her in my presence and instead hugged my leg and seemed to hide from her. Dr. Baker-Sinclair never spent any significant amount of time with myself and my children. Dr. Baker-Sinclair also ignored the favorable reports by another therapist who actually spent time with me and my children. This therapist told me on several occasions that she thinks that I am a "great father". However, Dr. Baker-Sinclair recommended that I be deprived of ALL overnight visits with my children despite never spending any time with my children and I, particularly during the 1.5 years when I had them every other weekend without any problems at all.
