Little details that make me smile;-)
Yoga Field Notes A.

The Vibe: Smoothly paced and music-driven (think late-night indie), all unfolding in a beautifully bright space, a lovely container for movement, self-connection, shared connection with others, and discovering great music. The Yoga Space: Minimalist, with warm wood tones, all sun-lit by a giant oval skylight overhead. The Class (Flow with Bailey Kai): This was a music-driven, cue-based flow that works for all levels. Bailey's teaching style is beginner-friendly for anyone who is looking to explore yoga in a beautiful setting with great music. She guides the movement first, then names the pose in English. It allows the body to learn easily, which is a great for new students. The class unfolded as one long, continuous flow that gradually built. Near the end, we were offered an optional peak pose of Birds of Paradise. As we down-regulated with grounded stretching, the playlist slipped into a moody, hypnotic feel of "Want It" by Mk.gee (gentle, inward, & beautifully timed: https://youtu.be/ZXVCmYWCOwI?si=U1tWC20pIELUMylK), followed by grounded stretching and savasana. I brought a friend (one of my favorite yoga teachers;-), and she appreciated some of Bailey's creative cueing. Always a good sign when a teacher enjoyed class. This Class Is Perfect For: - Beginners who want clear, movement-based guidance - Intermediate students who love a smooth, continuous flow that gradually builds, with add-ons and a peak pose - Anyone wanting music-driven movement without added heat in a beautiful space Final Take: OPEN with Bailey Kai delivers an accessible, long flow in a beautiful sun-lit space. Perfect when you want to generate your own heat and move in a steady, continuous rhythm. Practical Notes: Street parking nearby and a $5 lot across the street for OPEN clients. Mats and towels provided. Water station, bathroom, sauna, and cold plunge available.

Attended my second class at open last night and it was not great; way over full capacity. I counted 38 people in the room. We were packed in like sardines. The person next to me's mat was less than a foot away and they constantly sweat onto my mat. Gross. Their feet were also on my mat several times. Hair on the floor, did not feel clean whatsoever. This is very different from my experience here about a year ago.

Open IS A VIBE! I've come here numerous times now over the last couple of years for breath and sound classes with various different teachers. My personal favorite is the breathwork class on the beach (you essentially walk straight out to the ocean from the studio) and you'll see the class gathering. Give yourself an additional 10 mins (on top of parking time in Venice) to check in at the studio and get out there. It's such a transformative experience to be connected with nature/the sand/the ocean during that class and then letting out a scream/release or two at the end (I always chuckle thinking all the tourists are probably walking by thinking - "she's giving cult" ). All of the teachers I've had have all been awesome in their own unique ways (stellar music mixes across the board). The breathwork class can bring up A LOT and has occasionally left me feeling gassed or a bit light headed so definitely give yourself some time to come down after the class depending on how you do. I also recommend getting there a bit early to get a good mat/get settled in. Overall my favorite breathwork class in LA and I highly recommend checking out a class or two here.

Outside of the class - where you place your shoes

I took an align class and it was great! Not traditional yoga as there was jumping & a few additions but it was definitely worth the visit and very relaxing. The aesthetic is phenomenal. Parking is street parking but you can pay for the beach valet parking and they validate $5 cash & $6 on card. It was a lil awk at front desk, they def treat you differently if you use class pass but not too bad. Overall a good experience in total.

I came with a friend to try the breathwork / soundbath with manoj and stayed for the restorative class with rebecca. The breathwork was supported with an eye mask and blanket. We were lying down most of the class. The music was so good and the sounds of everyone breathing together is hard to put into words! Class finished with a soundbath. Really felt like a whole upper body reset! During the restorative class we used all the props and held some of the poses for 2 mins for deeper stretching. Music was really calming and chill. We left feeling very relaxed. This felt like a lower body reset! There are showers, lockers and a sauna room (that I didn't get to try this time.) Highly recommend this combo of classes. Looking forward to trying more in the future!

Studio

Beautiful, unique yoga studio just steps away from Venice beach. It's a small intimate studio which I love, I feel claustrophobic in a class with too many people and this studio has the perfect set up. There's typically about 16 mats in the space. They provide very high quality props, including cork yoga blocks, blankets, bolsters etc. The instructors are very kind. There are a variety of classes depending on your skill level and what kind of practice you are looking for. I do find this studio is rooted in healing and the cultural practice of yoga - not just using it as a workout class, which is something I look for. When you enter you're greeted with tea. The bathrooms have lockers and are stocked with Aesop (very luxurious touch.) I've never used the amenities like the sauna but curious to try one day. Definitely recommend checking out a class here one day.

Took a Power class here. Studio was half-empty, so there was plenty of space, but expect a lot of squats! They have a cold plunge and sauna room, which is a nice bonus. Only two showers, though, so it might get cramped if it's busy. Parking is street-only and can be a bit of a walk, plus the area feels a little sketchy. But hey, it's right by the beach, so it's got that going for it!

Reviews are largely positive. People highlight the beautiful studio space, supportive instructors, and music-driven classes. The welcoming atmosphere is also appreciated.

The classes are small, the trainers are so nice, always have a smile on their faces, they're ready to help when needed and most importantly, they're approachable and encouraging, never pushy or intimidating. I had never done anything like F45 and I fell in love with it. After my 2 week free trial, I immediately signed up for 6 months. Yes, it is a little pricey (especially for a full-time student) but I have zero regrets with this place. The workouts are different every day, combining cardio and weights. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are usually cardio focused and Tuesday and Thursday are weights (my favorite). Saturdays and Sundays are a mixture. They have classes as early as 6:15am so its nice to get in early and know you're done for the day, but they also offer evening classes so you can hit a double when you're up for it. I personally dropped 30 lbs in the first couple months here and gained visible muscle mass over the last 6 months. I HIGHLY recommend this place, it reminded me how much I enjoy working out and how fun it could be. *Note: Classes can sometimes, but rarely, get a little full, however they do have a capacity and registering for class beforehand is recommended.

I contacted them and they replied by email and phone promised to refund me with by check.Treated them with respect and understanding, I accepted their apology and find with the whole incident. A month later, I did not receive any check, NOT a dime. I followed up by email twice they did not reply. I'm really upset how they charged me over $2k for a service I cancelled. The run their business like a scam. The person I emailed was Eric who didn't cancel my membership not once but twice after I sent him an email. The person who handled my refund is David. The number I contacted is 317-308-0770. I can provide email and text of these conversations if anyone in the F45 franchise/company wants to investigate this mismanagement. I am really upset that they did not reply to my last email following up the check. It has been 2 weeks.

The one-on-one attention from the trainers makes such a difference -- I mostly take classes with Jesse, McKenna, and Peter, and they're all incredible. I do a mix of small group and group classes, and I genuinely enjoy every one of them. I love how much focus there is on form. The trainers make sure you're doing everything correctly and safely, and they really individualize the programming to different levels. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, they meet you there and still push you to go further. The group programming runs for 5-6 weeks at a time, which I love because you can actually track your progress and see how much stronger you're getting. I've been challenging myself to lift heavier and heavier, and I've noticed such a big change in my body -- someone even told me I have "Madonna arms," which made my day! Real Fitness has truly been a game changer for me. I looked up gyms near me when I realized this was a silly fantasy but coming here actually turned it into a reality. all the trainers are knowledgeable and meticulous. everyone is very nice and normal, which was surprising to me. there aren't any gimmicks or pretense and the pricing is very fair. health-wise it's stopped my knees from flaring up from hypermobility, I can carry much more and I can't fit into my pants for good reasons.

Ivan went above and beyond to help me. He was incredibly kind, welcoming and genuinely happy to assist. With a smile and a wonderful attitude he had my ball inflated and ready to use right away. His customer service was exemplary and his professionalism and kindness made such a positive impression on me. It's employees like Ivan who make a difference in the member experience.
