They have so many interesting, high-quality pieces you won't find anywhere else, plus a stunning ethnic jewelry collection. What I love most is how they put together gorgeous combination outfits that make styling effortless. The owner has the best eye for detail--she helped me style a gorgeous hand-embroidered jacket I found, pairing it with a perfect cami that is literally as soft as butter! The pricing is also fantastic for the level of curation you get. It gives you total upscale boutique vibes without the high price tag. Amazing service, great atmosphere, and unbeatable finds!

I see most of the negative reviews about the shop are from sellers. That is a different category from customer reviews. As a customer I always have been delighted about my experience there. The shopping center is a little ways out of town but it is not too far and fairly easy to find. BTW they specialize in the Eileen Fisher brand, which always is very good quality and the items seem to stay in style. I can't wait to go back to Linden!!

Nothing that you feel like you would walk down the street and see 10 people wearing the same thing. Higher end clothes and really well thought out selection. I am finally writing a review today because I found some earrings I loved but wanted these in gold. They didn't have any gold left and the woman working there had a gold pair at home. She actually sold me her pair and is shipping to me at no extra cost. Talk about service. I have always had great service here but this topped it all. In the middle of downtown Asheville so be sure to check it out.

We were in the area to go to another vintage store nearby and popped into House of Kismet on a…read morewhim. WOW. This is the BEST vintage store I have ever been in, and I do a LOT of vintage shopping, from NY to FL. I was completely knocked out by H of K because: 1) They have larger sized women's clothing! Several dresses that were probably size 10-12 which is super rare since most vintage is size 2-4. 2) They have men's clothes - a lot of them. Most vintage stores have a lot of women's items and hardly any men's, but H of K is about 40% menswear. 3) EVERYTHING is in immaculate condition. The prices reflect this, but nothing I thought was out of reach since you're buying one of a kind, well made clothing. To be clear, this is vintage, not thrift. Some of the items are up to 100 years old, so you can't expect it's going to be $5. 4) Woman working there was so nice! Not pretentious, not pushy, not overbearing, but welcoming--and very sweet when I asked if I could take pictures for my review. 5) There is NO junk or random crap - it's obvious that someone has a keen eye for beautiful things and thoughtfully puts them together in collections. When we visited, there were selections of kimonos, smoking jackets, leather capes (!), summer dresses, etc. What's amazing is that it would be 8-20 of each "genre" so you have a pick of colors and sizes... it's not just one random cape or top hat. There's also home items sprinkled throughout, but in a way that is intentional and curated (like the wool camp blankets in the men's section, vintage quilts near a small section of kids' clothes, selection of aluminum thermoses by the outerwear). 6) I collect vintage women's hats and the selection at H of K is exquisite. Very fine examples of 40's/50's hats in absolute mint condition, and fairly priced. I went a bit bonkers taking pictures of everything - this shop is an absolute dream, and I wish I lived closer so I could visit every weekend. House of Kismet is an incredibly rare combination of incredible items and friendliness.

Was beyond elated to know it hasn't changed at all. However he did let me know the Annapurna region now has roads and traffic going to and from. I remember a warm climate trail loop thru Villages, staying in little lodges, eating what the locals prepared. The jewelry especially the turquoise stone and orange coral necklaces with the medallion brought me right back. The chiefs wife in Nam Boche wore that exact necklace. He carries cool earrings and cool charms of the Nepali Namaste symbol. It was so neat seeing everything he had as I remember people walking around in those clothes, jewels and all the Buddha and Hindi type decor. He said he flies and buys directly instead or having people ship him stuff. So that he can choose quality and style of items he wants for accuracy. It's a beautiful shop, if you've visited India or Nepal, you will love it. I'm glad to see other reviews of people that enjoy this unique shop as you won't find these items unless you are in that part of the world. I especially loved the really old shaman drum he had, the cool sound bowls, beaded bracelets. I really wanted the little symbols! They had drum circles in the town I lived in before but I don't have a tribe or circle yet here on easy coast. But I know where he is when I'm ready !
