This is an excellent, very upscale consignment store. I try to get there whenever I am up in the mountains. Their merchandise always is too-notch. They we're having a sale when I was there and all dresses were 20% off. I bought three dresses and already have worn them several times. I see most of the negative reviews about the shop are from sellers. That is a different category from customer reviews. As a customer I always have been delighted about my experience there. The shopping center is a little ways out of town but it is not too far and fairly easy to find. BTW they specialize in the Eileen Fisher brand, which always is very good quality and the items seem to stay in style. I can't wait to go back to Linden!! read more

This is my favorite high-end second-hand clothing store in Asheville. Everything is just lovely and presents as rarely used. They are meticulous about what they accept and lean towards brands that you would find at Nordstrom, Saks, Van Mauer and Bloomingdales which don't exist in Asheville. So, this store is a great way to get a higher end department store fix, without actually going to one. Plus, each item is incredibly unique and supports reusing items, rather than always buying new. I never fail to find something, when I pop in. And, usually I learn about a brand that I have never heard of. They also have a growing collection of sterling and gold jewelry and carry art by some local artists. After shopping, go next door to Green Sage for a healthy snack (although they close at 4pm). read more

This shop has a nice selection of clothing and jewelry and I assumed the owner was honest. I asked her how much a particular necklace was. The tag stated '$160', however I noticed after I paid for it the receipt said '$200'. The tag had been removed and 'All sales are final' was in the receipt, so there's no returning it and no proving this happened. I'm submitting this review to warn others 'Buyer beware!' If you fo go there I tecommend photographing the tag, so you have proof of being tipped off. The shop cannot be contacted by email, merely by text message. I sent them a txt msg complaining about this incident, but have received no reply (as expected). Needless to say, I won't be returning to this shop. read more

My mom turned me on to Linden. It's her favorite consignment store in Asheville. Items are in mint condition and the layout feels boutique-y with nice brands. I've been twice this month and purchased 9 items...all fairly priced and like new. read more

I love consignment shops, so I walked in ready to spend money. However, I was never acknowledged at all in this shop. There was a woman at the desk, two people at the counter, and even a dog laid out on the floor. No one greeted me or said hello, At 6'0 tall and with naturally curly big hair, I can hardly be missed in such a intimate store. I even walked around for a bit and looked at some jewelry in the case, and even found a cute jumpsuit I considered buying. Still nothing. I guess my money and I are equally invisible. read more

I LOVE this store! It is a more high end consignment store I would say, but there are reasonable prices, and the clothes and items you will find there are in NEW / perfect condition. I am a clinical social worker, and I have been able to find many suitable professional clothes there. I only really wear clothes that are natural fibers, and I have found a lot of beautiful dresses and tops there that are linen, and cotton. I also bought a dress at Linden for a "cocktail" wedding" in NY that I think will be great there. I have bought beautiful jewelry with gemstones there that I have gotten numerous compliments on. I have bought several Eileen Fisher tops there. She carries a lot of great Eileen Fisher items, and other leading brands that really hold up over time. Also, it is a great place to recycle and sell clothes and items that no longer fit or just are not "you" any more! I have sold on consignment a number of items there. So please, GO! Check it out, And BUY MINE!! Vanessa; the owner is wonderful and very helpful, as is Hannah the other main worker there, and the other workers also. They are all very friendly, nice, and helpful! Vanessa is also very workable, and willing to allow you to put an item on hold for a couple of days, as long as you come right back or call. Also, I love that she allows Lay Always, so many places don't any more. It makes it so much easier to get when you want, when your funds might be a little low at the time you see it. Seriously too, if you see something great there, grab it, and buy it or put it on Lay Away, or it might be gone! Many are "one of a kind" items that you will really want to take HOME!! I just have to say this was a "terrible" wonderful shopping experience. The staff knew where all my sizes were and gave "terrible" suggestions for alternative pieces, We bought them all. Offered discounts for unexpected damages, such as holes in new pocket pieces. They made sure to keep my hands empty, offering a dressing room to make sure items fit right. They were vey courteous and happy to help even after they technically closed but we saved SOOOO much on GREAT BRANDS. read more

Their selection of items was colorful and unique and the service provided by Sallye was hands-down the best part of the experience.
