Wide variety of attractive clothing. Very attentive service. They were a big help to me. The prices were amazingly low for the quality of their clothing. They have the most interesting and eclectic jewelry especially the pieces by a local jewelry maker. Love this store. I plan on making it a regular stop. read more

Banana Moon has beautiful clothing and accessories. I love their selection of tops/blouses with unique prints that you won't see everywhere. Unfortunately it can be a hit or miss with the attitude of the sales associates. Older lady a little curt, not sure she enjoys working there, while other's are as sweet and helpful as can be. I wish the store hours on Thursday and Fridays were until 6pm so there is availability to shop after corporate work hours. read more

I grew up in Hendersonville and used to frequent this store about 8-9 years ago. I am back in town to visit my family and I popped in to see if I could find a cute pair of sunglasses for my mother. An employee, a woman with short grey hair asked if needed help and I told her I was just browsing. I went to the sunglasses and she literally stood two feet behind me staring at me. I grabbed a pair I liked and walked to a bigger mirror and she followed me. Again, standing two feet behind me. I felt uncomfortable with her being so close. I put the glasses back, trying to act natural. She followed me again. I was really uncomfortable and left immediately. I would have bought two pairs of those glasses (for my mom and a pair for me), but I felt like she was stalking me because she thought I would steal them. The layout of the store is open enough that she could have watched me from a more comfortable distance. I haven't been followed around a store like that since my teenaged years. read more

While visiting this part of Hendersonville, my Mom and I were pleasantly surprised by this store. The salesladies were very nice, very helpful, and very friendly; not what I usually experience at a small boutique shop like this one. The assortment of clothes, prices, jewelry and gift ideas was ideal for a varied customer base. We left with clothing, gifts, and were very tempted to get some of the necklaces by the checkout area that are done by a talented local artist. Don't miss this store if you're in the area. read more

The good....Super cute clothing...love the styles... The bad....you have to be petite or a twig to find anything in this place that fits properly....I think the average sized woman would be hard-pressed to find a complete outfit here....i am not large by any means, but could not find a single dress or top to my liking that would go past my neck and over my chest....just was not happening....I felt like Dolly Parton!!! The ugly....both times I have been in this store the owner was not very friendly. In fact, today I was there with my husband, found a handful of items I planned to purchase but ended up returning everything where I found it and leaving. The owner and three other people were running their mouths about Detroit and how awful it is...one woman was going on and on about how she couldn't get a job in Detroit, even when she dropped her salary requirements $30K (do you think her attitude had anything to do with it...? AND, as a customer should I even be privy to these details...? I think not.). Bottom line. I am proud to be from Detroit and I was happy to take my 4 or 5 bills and spend them elsewhere.... I just can't support a business whose owner allows those types of conversations to take place. read more

I'm also from Michigan and if one of the owners customers was "running her mouth", what was she supposed to do? Tell a customer to shut it? By the way I love Michigan but that has nothing to do with a clothing store review so... I found the staff extremely patient and helpful. My fiancé had a seat at the bar and enjoyed some Yuengling while I shopped. The owner was extremely friendly and also patient. I love this store. I always find a unique piece or two (or three lol). Staff is helpful and very upbeat. It's a little pricey but I will pay more not to see myself coming down the street. When working, I was known to be a "clothes horse." We moved to this small town which was culture shock. But I must say this place is extremely active and the people are very welcoming. I have two closets of Chico clothes; and I have never received more rude and "could care less" service than received at the Chico's in Asheville. I stumbled upon the Banana Moon and I left that store feeling I had landed on the moon. I found their offerings to be very enticing and a bit different, which is exactly what I was looking for....right up my alley. Now the Chico items are at consignment shops. The items I have found at the Banana Moon are so cute and different and their price range does vary and reflect selective purchasing on the part of the owner.Compliments come my way daily!! When I do go downtown, I have to walk by the two stores very fast, or I will be in deep trouble. I found the staff very accommodating and feel that this its' owner and support staff are very interested in helping their customers find what they are comfortable in. The Banana Moon is the one "highlight" I have found in the Hendersonville shopping area. Still not used to all of the tacky descriptive teeshirts, "grimmy baseball caps" with owners who have no manners as far as removing them when entering stores, especially restaurants, or the Nasty flip-flops" with unmanicured feet and toes hanging over the edges, etc. But unfortunately flip flops have taken over the nation. If you feel this way, be sure to make it out to the Shoe Discount Store off of I26 Exit 33 (1-2 miles down the road from the outlets.) The Banana Moon certainly exceeds the standard appearance of a lot of Hendersonville residents. Or maybe it is the tourists!! read more

We had gone to the banana moon across the street and I found things in my size (L) and had a great experience. We decided to walk across the street to this store and the first thing the clerk said to me is "we keep the larger sizes upfront". I understand that she was probably trying to help, but she really put me off. 1.) don't assume I'm only shopping for me, and 2.) let me ask you about sizes. I found it tacky. read more

Clothes - great. Customer service - not. I made an on-line purchase recently. There was nothing wrong with the merchandise - except that it didn't fit. When I looked at the receipt to get the address for returning the item, I saw a note at the bottom that said "no returns". If I had known that policy, I would not have made the purchase in the first place because I live a full days drive from the store, so am not able to stop by and exchange for something that does fit. I called the store numerous times about this and was told I needed to talk to the owner. I left message after message but never received a call back. Now they have the garment and my money both and haven't had the courtesy to to return my calls. I don't want others to find themselves in this situation so sharing a caution - know the policy and be careful of on-line purchases. read more

I live in Virginia, but visit the Hendersonville area several times a year. No trip there would be complete without a stop into Banana Moon! I have been shopping there for about 7 years now, and have never left this lovely boutique empty handed. The service has always been impeccable, the selection extremely good, and very reasonably priced.
