But yesterday, I went to Pandemonium w/ my husband and 2 sons. We went over to the Pokémon section, and I was amazed. First of all, I couldn't believe my older son, who's 8, totally held his own and knew what he was talking about asking to look at cards from different types of sets and versions of different values, etc. My youngest son, who's 6, was doing pretty well himself. But the thing that impressed me the most is that, the Pokémon guru, Trevor, did not talk down to my kids and try to scam them out of money. I don't know if it's because my husband and I were standing there, but all I saw were very professional transactions, ending with an official agreement-binding handshake. My husband and I were basically only there to show support towards their strong interest in something specific and would've only jumped in if things went completely sideways, but I got a feeling they would've been treated with the same respect if we weren't there, especially since my kids know what they're talking about. I'm so proud of them and so impressed with Trevor and the store in general that when my kids get older, I would be happy to drop them off for a couple of hours to battle with others while I go get some peace and quiet somewhere else.

Some of the employees are amazing, such as Little Mike, but some come off as rude and standoffish. Their trade in values are bad, but they will almost buy anything. It is a very large store with a great selection of other non-pokemon items. I want to keep giving them a chance, but I'm not always sure it's worth the trip.

The front of the shop was stocked well with lots of games to choose from. The middle room between the shop and music appears to be where people come to play games or tournaments. This is also where they have a bar. My biggest recommendation would be to either get a second bartender when hosting events or streamline service by cutting the craft cocktails from the menu. 20 to 30 minutes in line when the place is t packed is a trifle ridiculous.

One of the most awesome things they have is a $5 play all day game library where you can try as many games as you want that they have available on that shelf. It's a great way for friends, family, and new acquaintances to get together and have fun. I love that all the LGS in the area are pretty supportive of one another too. It's a great community to be a part of and watching small businesses grow along side one another.

They treat you like family. $35 a month for membership is great as well. Most people spend hundreds of dollars on a gym membership and playing with their phones. So this place is right up my alley. Dragon's Roost has been around for years. It used to be in Sylvania, then Holland. Now it's in West Toledo, on Sylvania Avenue, just east of Pa Jolly's and just west of the Chessie Circle Trail crossing. This is by far the best spot. THIS is EXACTLY where a place like this belongs. Atmosphere: Two-story building. Upstairs is gaming tables and the like. Downstairs is the café plus games, miniatures, and books for sale. Coffee: Damned good, and the menu is huge. Personally I like the Dark Lord and the Dragon's Breath. Both are mocha-style drinks flavored with hot peppers (ghost and cayenne). D'sR also serves breakfast, cookies, pastries, hotdogs and so on. I haven't eaten here yet. Staff: Friendly and accommodating. Hours: Longer than what's listed on Yelp or the website (in fact, the site doesn't look like it's been updated in about a year). During the week they actually open at 7 a.m. every day, including Monday, and close at 10 p.m. Weekend hours are a little different. So if you're a closet geek, like me, this place is for you. You can can go in, ostensibly for the coffee, but soak up the nerditude while you're there. But if you don't wanna blow your cover, make sure you do so after a heavy leg day at Super Fitness. 5 stars!!
