Opal Fields is a wonderful jewelry store! For my b-day I was gifted a beautiful emerald cut diamond from my mom. She recommended to have the setting done at Opal Fields, she has been a client of Tom (the owner) for over two decades and counting. My mom had several pieces of her jewelry repaired, altered, sent a Rolex off for maintenance as well as purchasing additional one of a kind pieces for her jewelry collection. I considered a few online companies for the setting. However, this proved to be difficult since I already had the diamond. Buying online does not ensure the setting would fit. Online companies mass produced their settings. In addition I would still need to hire someone to set the diamond. Talking to Tom and his new associate Jon, about making a new setting, the steps to have it made and being given a fair cost comparable to online prices, I felt it was better to have the ring set with Opal Fields. This would also allow the company to maintain the ring for years to come. The ring setting and diamond came out absolutely beautiful. As you can see in the images. Opal Fields actually cast the platinum twice because the first setting did not fit. Instead of forcing the diamond to fit the setting and risk fracturing the diamond, they recast the platinum and ensured the diamond and setting fit perfectly. I love this ring and I never want to take it off!!! Consider Opal Fields if you are looking for stunning pieces outside the typical and something close to the Aina. Initially, I made contact with him to provide words of encouragement, after an unfortunate robbery at his beautiful jewelry store. After our initial conversation I realized I needed my watch repaired by a certified Cartier dealer. He oversaw the safe delivery, repair and return of my watch. Where do I start? They have a great selection and a very nice staff. Helpful, but not pushy. But their best quality is their honesty and willingness to help. My wife and I were visiting Hawaii on vacation. She put down and mistakenly left her Louis Vuitton shopping bag behind and didn't notice until we got back to our hotel and were headed to the airport. She thought she'd removed all of her IDs from her old LV wallet when she put it in the LV bag and had no idea where she'd lost it in Honolulu, so we figured it was gone forever. A day later after we got home we were contacted by one of the employees who said they'd found it with an old biz card of my wife tucked inside and they were shipping it back to us here in Arizona ASAP. After a consultation/quote, I brought my wedding ring set and a 2 1/2 carat diamonds into Opal Fields to get a custom makeover. We had verbally agreed to a price and confirmed. I trusted the owner as he took apart my wedding and engagement rings on the spot, during which a loud clink could be heard, at my inquiry he replied "oh nothing." He brought my rings and stones back to me. After designing my new ring, his quote nearly doubled in price, shocked, I proceeded to have a conversation with him "that isn't what you quoted me, had I known it would've been that much, I would've have allowed you to cut apart my rings, in tears, I cried, these are my wedding rings." I asked if he could please just put my diamonds back and he said he would charge me a fee. Then to add insult to injury, he brings me a 4 carat green diamond for $40,000 and tells me he will give me$1,000 credit for 6 diamonds (over 3 carats) and my 2 now empty ring sets. I looked at him puzzled as he tried to go over financing options with me, politely asked for his chicken scratch quote, and a zip lock bag for my pieces. to be honest I wouldn't even give this guy 1 star. I am sure he does exceptional work, but to "get work" this way very unprofessional, zero liability, unacceptable, no class, checking his text messages, and by the way, that loud ping I heard, was him cracking my diamond and he cut the prongs, and he didn't even disclose that, I had to go to an HONEST craftsmen. Not impressed at at. If your going to go in purchase only. The woman is nice, the guy, not so much. read more
