Honey nut matcha
Connor L.

Super cool concept for a tea place, you can choose any tea off the wall and they can make a drink out of it. The staff is really knowledgeable about their craft and very kind. The matcha drink i got was a specialty drink he made. It was good but i think I would get it with oat milk next time.

The ceiling here is really cool

I'm a sucker for a great venue to savor a cup of tea of coffee, and in spite of the name here, they do serve espressos here but told me most of their business is tea between 10 a.m. and closing. We'll stick to that for the purposes of this review. We came post lunch on a chilly afternoon and were happy to find they serve a proper Pu-erh tea and split a large French Press Pot full. Delightful. Pu-ehr, in case you haven't tried it, is one of the heavy (and then some) hitters of hot tea. Imagine you drank nothing but Natty Light or Budweiser beer your entire life, and then someone plunks down a Guinness for you to try. That's kind of the difference between an oolong or Jasmine and say a Pu-ehr. Earthy, pungent, aged, packed with caffeine and antioxidants. Hell, I just like the stuff, and was happy they knew what it was. Kudos. There are delicious looking snacks in a glass case and tons of teas to purchase by the ounce, enough of an enticement we left with something we'd never tried to take home. At the entrance a variety of cups, saucers, tea steeping devices, journals, cards, knick-knacks etc. Cute stuff, fits right in with the super quaint metal roof that adorns the ceiling. Didn't get to return during our stay but this will be a regular part of visits in the future, pretty sure. It's like stepping into another realm here, a great place to unwind and visit. Very highly recommended.

A tea lover's paradise. Seriously, I love coming in here, it's always an experience. Sometimes Oolong is just a quiet tea shop in Kensington, a good place to drink some tea with friends or read a book. But they often have poetry readings and sometimes even live music, which can be a pleasant surprise or a hassle depending on your mood. The atmosphere is decidedly cheery, the staff are always pleasant, and they've managed to make ordering tea even more of a hassle than getting a drink from Starbucks! There is a definite "type" that frequents Oolong, but everyone's in such a good mood from the tea that it hardly matters.

Small but very cozy place. They have a wide selection of teas from high quality tea to common ones. I guess part of the reason of why they use coffee press instead of a tea strainer is because it looks more aesthetic ? Since I am quite a picky tea drinker, I found it kinda annoying since the cup givens were quite small compare to the size of the strainer (so you can't pour out all the tea in one go) and all tea drinker fanatic knows that just soaking tea in hot/warm water for a a longtime will ruin the taste It was quite packed at the time I went and quite loud too so keep that in mind if you were trying to study there

Oolong really is a place to go if you love tea. They have so many different options I'm surprised anyone can make a decision... ever. I've only been to Oolong a handful of times, and that's probably because I'm too overwhelmed and nervous every time I order. I always think that the people are judging the things or the way I order. I want to get it right and I'm never sure that I do. I do really enjoy the atmosphere though. Knowing that everyone is there because they have a passion for tea really brings a smile to my face. I must say that if I ever do have a problem ordering, someone is always nice enough to help me out. I also really enjoy it's location. Right in the middle of Kensington makes it a great place to grab a beverage and walk around the trendy area. It's a nice place to go whether you need a quick tea, or you're just looking to relax and sit around.

"Oh how delightful!" exclaimed Alice, for sitting in front of her was a canister of Rose Tea which was her personal DRINK ME and so she was pleasantly delighted. So it's like sitting at a mad lil teaparty like a proper poppit drinking in the smells of petals all around you. And so Alice was in Wonderland having found her rose tea which, she'll have you know, is very hard to find indeed. "Thank you Oolong Tea House and Happy Unbirthday to me!"

Sam is the main reason I come to Deville in Kensington. I can go to a huge number of coffee shops…read moreto work, but Sam is unbelievably conscientious, considerate. I have worked in the oil and gas industry for over thirty-five years, and I have seen all kinds of employees/workers. I can tell you, there are VERY FEW who are as conscientious, who care about delivering as much as she does. I sensed that immediately. You need to be doing everything to get people 1/4 as professional and caring as she is.

Deville is a relatively newcomer to the espresso/coffee/tea shop housed in an old repurposed brick…read morebuilding in an area that is quite frankly rife with shops of the same. There is little danger this area of town will ever run out of joe, that's certain. Go a block further and turn left and there 3-4 more of the same, just in case you were worried. Beautifully redesigned interior and lots of outdoor seating and the great architecture of the old building make this a great space to hang outside, weather permitting, and on my visits that's just what we did. The espresso drinks are spot on and if like myself you favor milks from non-lactating plants, they do a wicked oat milk flat white or latte. The black coffees are also excellent and I stayed long enough that my cup got refilled more times than I could recall. On my first visit I neglected to bring a mask, and they were kind and happy to provide one free of charge. Appreciated. Great spot to work as well which I did on a couple of days. Out of the 7-8 places I tried for espresso drinks on my visit I'd rate this as second best, but with hands down the best vibe for enjoying time with friends and family. Highly recommended.

Paid $10 for a cup of hot chocolate. Not sure what to exactly feel about this haha but it was good,…read morerich, and thick. Definitely tastes authentic. Just not the best I've had. I'll come back tho. Probably one of the best places to get hot chocolate in Calgary tho no cap Service was great. Owner was there. Super nice and friendly. Ambiance is also cute. Small place but clean and aesthetic. Overall, just great. Seemed like a place with quality.

tucked into calgary's beltline, this little french café feels like it was made for slow mornings…read moreand long catch ups. the kind of place where you instinctively lower your voice, breathe a little deeper, and feel like you've been transported straight to paris (passport not required). so we had a late start to the day, showed up around 1:30 pm on a thursday and practically had the whole place to ourselves. the space is lovely, marble tables, black and white café chairs, it's curated but not fussy. perfect for catching up with a friend, or working solo. the pastry case is a total showstopper: buttery croissants, cookies under glass domes like little museum exhibits, and viennoiseries in flavours like cinnamon kouign amann, chausson aux pommes, beautifully striped croissants with apricot & almond, and saskatoon berry. they also make house made jams to sell in fun flavours like pear & vanilla, strawberry & basil, and mango & lemongrass. we scored the tufted velvet couch in the corner, it was soft, plush, and hands down the best seat in the house. we decided to share the following: mocaccino croissant tasted stale. dense, barely any coffee flavour, and a few scattered chocolate chips. almond croissant had a generous filling of frangipane that tasted too sweet. pear & vanilla croissant was the best of the bunch, it had some layers, slight crisp on the outside, and a subtle, not too sweet filling. caffe latte and matcha were just okay. the space is a whole vibe and worth visiting for the ambiance alone. pastry wise, we were hoping for buttery, flaky goodness with a nice chewy texture and only found a spark of it in one croissant. still, if you're in the neighbourhood, the black sheep's a charming little spot to hang out, maybe just stick to the coffee and the couch.
