I've been in Dallas over 20 years and have never been to this restaurant. Yesterday I decided to do…read morea curbside pickup order. In true fashion, when I try a new to me restaurant,I get multiple entrees. I got half a rack of ribs with two sides; one was loaded baked potato and broccoli/cheese casserole. I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries and chicken fried chicken with broccoli/cheese casserole and red beans and rice. Finally, I got meatloaf with loaded baked potato. The good. I'm not really a broccoli cheese casserole person but I decided to try it since it's out of my comfort zone. It was good and had and had a nice flavor. The ribs were nice and tender, though I didn't care for the barbecue sauce. The chicken fried chicken was good, nothing wowed me about it but it was solid. The loaded baked potato was good and had plenty of cheese and bacon bits. The bacon cheeseburger was good and fries were solid. The red beans and rice were average. I appreciated the fact that it was not spicy. Even though there is meat in this dish, it doesn't necessarily add a smoky flavor, which was lacking. The bad. Why did they serve me BURNT meatloaf? Does the kitchen staff need to take eye tests? There is no way in hell that that meatloaf should've been sent out. It easily was the worst meatloaf I've ever had in my life. They should've been ashamed to serve that to a paying customer. I'll never get it again if I choose to eat here again

Came here recently for a staff members birthday lunch. As other reviewers will warn you, wait times…read morehere can be long. We had a large group and there was a long wait to get a table, to get our drink order, and then finally our food order. The restaurant is similar to Applebees or Chili's - just an average "fern bar" type restaurant. There weren't many veggie options on the menu. Lots of chicken, and of course, true to the restaurant name, lots of cheese. They brought us some incredible croissants in a thick honey butter sauce. The chips and salsa appetizer comes with salsa on the side and a meaty queso. I tried the broccoli and cheese side - the portion is tiny! This is a true side and not a good substitute for a meal. Super affordable though! They really outdid themselves on the birthday cake! Rich, chocolatey, with a fudge syrup - it was delicious. And kudos to the servers for being good sports and leading the birthday song. They were great about out large party splitting the check and the electronic pay device they brought to the table made it easy.

Don't know where to start; OK I showed up 20 minutes before closing and thought the kids would be…read moreangry but they said "you order whatever you want" and they were really friendly about it. A special note that this particular Eatery is a walk up window in a high school called Dallas College but don't let that fool u; it is a legit business open to the public. I ordered a meatloaf dinner and got a whole meatloaf that tasted like a gourmet pizza; the garlic mashed potatoes were almost like dessert & the best part my favorite (green beans ") are true southern style like some kind of butter. Here on business from Austin and I can't wait to get assigned here again because I will slowly go through everything on the menu!

The love the venue it's in. Basically It's Dallas community college food court but it's great to grab a bite and read a book, study or meet a long lost friend. The food does take a minute to come out. Your better off bringing a Nintendo switch or watching a full length movie cause baby they are SLOW. Now the taste of the food. The pork chops were spot on but the sides were a little heavy handed with salt. Wait time and salty sides took two stars away.

First of all let me say that this place is so awesome! I've been living in this area for 12 years…read moreand I've never come in here and now I regret it. The people, the food, the atmosphere is great! Reminds me of a backyard bbq! The food was great and fresh! I bought the hamburger and fries. The vegetables were super fresh and the meat on the burger was flavorful. I love places like this so to me it's heaven! I'll definitely be coming back!

Waitress: I am SURE I do not want to know. Dad: FAST FOOD! The waitress rolled her eyes and walked away while my dad giggled like an 8-year old boy. You gotta love that! And that's the difference between an four-star greasy spoon and a three-star one. The folks working there! My grandmother loves this place because the chicken fried steak is not really a steak per se. It's very tender. But it's way better than one you'd get at some fast food joint. And the sides are pretty dang awesome. I had a stuffed bell pepper with hominy (which was super fantastic), blackeyed peas and mac-n'cheese. That's how the lunch special works. You get an entree and three whopping sides with homemade rolls. This place can't compete with your gourmet comfort food joints, but as far as diner food goes, this place is near Barbec's. If I were just basing it on food I would have thrown a three-star review out there, but the staff was just over the top great. My one itty bitty complaint is that it's in Mesquite which still allows smoking in their restaurants. We were in the non-smoking section, but I could still smell it. After a few minutes it didn't bother me as much but I'm spoiled by the Dallas ordinance. Otherwise this was a great place to grab birthday lunch with my grandmother.
