Wow, was completely blown away by this coffee shop. This location also happens to be Onyx Coffee Lab's HQ and is located in old town Rogers. When you arrive there is plenty of parking on the street. You'll walk in through the entrance on Walnut street and order at the counter. It will feel like you were transported to a very industrial, open, lively atmosphere. For coffee I ordered the Hail Fellow Well Met latte (brown butter, caramel, sea salt, espresso, and oat milk). The flavors were excellent and you could tell the sauces/syrups are made in house. This is a great coffee shop to work remotely from or just hang out for a bit in. Definitely stop in to grab a coffee in you are in the old town Rogers area. read more

Well well.... I've been following Andrea for a while. And she went to barista champ and got 2nd. And this is when Onyx blew up. Don't get me wrong this place is AMAZING!!! It's very impressive walking into the coffee lab but Honestly having experienced Asian coffee houses this place served no excitements! You walked in and dang nice place! But then you try to order your coffee and ehh it's worse than Starbucks! And then you sat down by their roasting machine and they don't even look at you! They don't talk to you! Or asked how's the coffee or anything. They literally didn't even look up! Nobody to explained your coffee to enhance your experience. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Definitely would not come back. As coffee lovers, we were sure to make this a destination on our road trip, given with its reputation as award-winning roaster, though ultimately left disappointed. Unless our coffees were made wrong, I promise y'all there's so much better coffee out there! The lattes were essentially straight milk. I tasted a tiny bit of espresso flavor, among the other flavors, but truly, this was one of the most milky lattes I've ever had. So disappointing. The line was quite long, and I didn't want to pay any more to add espresso, on top of my $48 bill, especially when it should've been nicely balanced from the start. I mean, just look at the color! I also got the iced lemon poppy matcha; it was refreshing and decent. What I will give credit for: the breakfast sandwich and carrot bread (not pictured) were delicious. And I can really appreciate coffee shops that make their own syrups and craft creative combinations with them, like wildflower-lavender or lemon poppy. read more

What can you say - it was just voted the #1 coffee house in the WORLD. Amazing to have this gem in our backyard. I most recently visited when my mom was in town. We had a crème brûlée croissant, avocado toast, and a specialty latte (Hail Fellow Well Met for me). It was all delicious! It may have cost more than our lunch later that day, but worth it (and the calories - lol). There's usually a line, but it moves quickly - don't be deterred! And, I've never had a challenge finding a spot to sit and feel like I can linger for a bit. read more

Last weekend, while in Northwest Arkansas, I stopped by Onyx Coffee in downtown Rogers. Despite the farmers market happening across the street, I managed to find very close parking despite arriving just after 10:00 on Saturday morning. With the aroma of roasting coffee floating through the air and a Saturday morning buzz of excitement, I slid in just before the line grew in length and made it through with coffee in hand in under five minutes. While I normally get the Onyx Delight latte, I decided to change things up this time and get a cup of black coffee. The Peru origin coffee I ordered was warm and smooth. It was definitely a good choice for a summer morning. This was about my fifth visit to this location, and as always, it was worth the drive as it is my favorite stop while in the area. read more

If you visit on roasting days, you can watch the process, which adds a whole new appreciation for the cup in front of you. Plenty of seating if you want to linger with your drink, and lots of natural light pouring in from the skylights. The hanging plants and open layout give it a relaxed, welcoming feel. AMAZING coffee shop! I had never been to an Onyx Coffee but figured the HQ building would be the best place to visit while I was in town. It is the perfect downtown location with lots near by. When walking into the building, you are immediately met with beautiful exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and tons of greenery. It is truly the most perfect, charming spot. We were visiting on a holiday weekend, so the line was quite long but it moved quickly. We ordered our coffee, and went and sat in front of the coffee roasting machines while we waited for our drinks. It was so neat to watch the roasting process. The coffee was good! I have had better but have also had a lot worse before. I might just get something different next time, but would definitely go again. If you are in the area, you should absolutely stop in! read more

I feel like I was one of the last in the area to experience Onyx and upon entering I can see what the hype is about. I was very impressed with the chic atmosphere and the quality of what they serve (some merch available as well). I very much enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. Quality ingredients and the chopped egg gives it a nice unique texture that I feel like is not common to other breakfast sandwiches with similar ingredients. Really tasty. I always have to get a latte when I get the chance so I had that as well. I would say it was very well made, but pretty standard and not flavored (unless I missed additional flavor options...if so, my bad!). It was pretty busy on the day we went. The most beautiful coffee shop I've ever been to. It's HUGE; for a second, I thought I stumbled into the Mall of America. These vibes though, very zen, very clean. I was going to say very mid, as the drink I got was, but there are multiple positive aspects. Right after we got there (about 15 of us for a family reunion) the line quickly went to the door. The place was large, and lots of people, but there was plenty of room. The plants were very nice. The crew was very quick, and moved people through at a rate that puts Starbucks to shame. 5 stars. The drink was good, not my favorite, and it was cold, served in a plastic cup. Now, hear me out... One of the reasons they got ranked #1 in the world, besides their resourcing, is their sustainability. Take mind, we didn't know if we were staying or going, so that's why I got plastic. I ended up finishing there, and had to throw my plastic cup away, as there was no recycling. I understand the difficulties of having a recycling bin for the public. It's probably not practical. Maybe I should've just left it on the table. Hopefully they recycle used cups if you do that. Anyways, cool place. I'd recommend it, and probably will go again (it's a bit of a drive). If you're in NWA, this Onyx location is worth a visit. We typically frequent the Bentonville location but wanted to check out the architecture here. We visited on a Sunday morning and there was a long line. There was a 10-15 minute wait to order. My husband ordered the Hail Fellow Well Met and I had my usual FOMO. Both drinks were delicious. I recommend the FOMO if you're a fan of coconut. There's a yummy layer of coconut foam on top of this drink. In terms of the architecture and ambiance, this location has high ceilings, plenty of open space, and several different sections of seating. I didn't see many outlets though. My first visit to the "mothership" in Rogers, this was an awesome experience. It's a very welcoming place, lots of good seating and decor and atmosphere that's truly something to behold. My wife and I sampled a number of things on our trip, and they were all great. First up was a straight espresso and cortado using their single origin rotator, Kenya Kagunyu Natural. Both drinks were outstanding, with the espresso showing a brilliant acidity and fruity blast, and the cortado really emphasizing the sweetness of the pineapple notes. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't available for purchase, but many others are, of course. Due to just being in the right place at the right time and being nosy, I also got a taste of the Onyx Extractions (Southern Weather) from a vendor showing. It was interesting. Very fruit forward, but I'd have to try it in a better measured setting. We also chowed down on a vegan curry kolache and avocado sourdough toast. The former featured Impossible Beef, and was practically imperceptible from real meat. The curry flavor and vegetables were in perfect proportions, a truly great little pillow of deliciousness. Avocado toast had added prosciutto for a protein bump, and it, too, was delicious, featuring very fresh and fairly ripe avocados with crispy arugula. Finally, I picked up a couple of boxes of coffee to take away; one ready to drink now (Tropical Weather, an Ethiopian blend), and a Peruvian single origin natural for later, as it was roasted just the day before purchase. Really a cool place, and a must see if you're in the area or even nearby. read more

Is it safe to say Onyx coffee (not the caffeine) but purely the Onyx roasted coffee makes me a better person when I drink it??? Let's get into it.. I have visited the Fayetteville location, the Bentonville location, and the Roger's (HQ) location. All locations are welcoming and come with a distinct atmosphere, you know you've walked into an Onyx when you're there (no mistaking it). I feel like going to Onyx for any coffee enthusiasts is like gearing up for a pretty significant experience! The HQ in Roger's location feels more like a landmark, a museum of sorts of coffee, roast, and barista. It definitely feels like they mean business and want to provide the best in presentation and quality. The merch is legendary, so if you're a fan don't hesitate to buy some. FYI: ALL MERCH HAS NO PRICING. So be prepared to have to ask for the pricing and tbh...they don't even know the prices of their own stuff and have to ring it up to find out exactly the price! (Huge downfall and frustrating) so buying anything besides coffee can be overwhelming or just confusing. Onyx means business and you'll find that in the atmosphere when going. Onyx was literally one of the pioneers of third wave coffee and you can tell as soon as you walk in. The building has a unique cozy yet modern ambiance with wonderful natural lighting. While waiting in the long line for coffee they offered us free single origin drip coffee to try which was something I've never experienced. I loved the hail fellow well met but I prefer it with whole milk but I tried the oat milk version as well and it was still good so it's up to you your milk preference. The vanilla latte is great as well. This is a very cool coffee location, I wasn't sure what to expect coffee-wise from Arkansas but this exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. They roast their own beans in the back and I think there are food spots and/or bars in this building as well that I'll have to check out next time. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely plan to hang out here with your coffee since it's a cool spot. I've heard of Onyx for a long time and finally got to visit today! The building is super cool with lots of places to sit and tables to set your coffee. Fair warning, it can get really loud with the tall ceilings, especially when they are doing stuff in the back. My group got a wide variety of drinks and we all enjoyed it.
