It was such a warm welcome the moment we enter into the Science, in which the event was held. The staff was very informative about what went on during the school year, including Parent involvement. There were so many PROUD students walking across the stage(If you will) receiving CERTFICATE for all the hard they placed into 2 semesters. There was plenty of food, drinks, sweets and cakes and much more. We had the chance to see what they were doing in the Lobby on computers, showing off there work as well for 20 minutes. This is a Program that offers literally free learning, for HIGHER TECH EDUCATION. We love what YOU guys have done for us as whole family in learning Coding and other high tech skills; through our son. Keep up the AWESOME work. The WORLD needs to know ABOUT this experience. The student body and profs are as cultivating as you could ever hope for, and the resources available to you are absolutely outstanding. ESF undergrad has a masters-level feel. Most classes focus on research topics, and as an undergrad you will find many, many opportunities to work on real, original, publishable research as a low-paid intern. The price is the going SUNY rate, which makes it a good financial decision. Going into $80,000 of debt at a private school will certainly not improve your chances of getting a good job. Going to a focused school that will build a specialized network will.

I had no idea of how this campus was laid out so I just started walking until I did stumble upon a map of the campus. It was hard to follow as it had the buildings all labeled on the map, but there was no coordination when that correlated to the map key. I just wanted to walk around and take some pictures as it was a nice day and some of the buildings are beautiful. I walked from one end of the pedestrian walkway to the other, back towards where my hotel was. A little about Syracuse University. Established in 1870 as a private research university. Interesting fact, it started as a seminary outside of Rochester. After some financial difficulties they decided to move to Syracuse because that would give them a better chance at surviving. Other interesting things, it was found as coeducational and racially integrated. First university in the country to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

The coach was very engaging, responsive, and seemed eager to have my son join Colgate's soccer team -- until they met me in person, a covered Muslim woman, during our visit. After the visit, they stopped responding completely, which was very surprising and disappointing. My son was deeply upset because they never followed up, not even with a positive or negative response. It's okay to say no, but not responding at all is unprofessional and feels very discriminatory.

The lion's share of my classmates were politically uninvolved, academically apathetic (and talentless), socially cutthroat nabobs-in-waiting. It's uncomfortably homogeneous. Act out away from mode, in any way imaginable, and you are ripe to be ostracized. There was a lot of racism and homophobia. There's nothing to do socially, aside from Greek life and completely ineffectual clubs. There were a lot of fist (and lacrosse stick) fights. The food sucks. I'll grant that Colgate has some nice facilities, and the backdrop is beautiful, but the school that I experienced needs a wholesale personality overhaul (and I've seen no evidence that Rebecca "Hatchet" Chopp has accomplished that).

I have so many good things to say about HWS that I am not sure it could fit in a Yelp review!…read more Let me just list some of my favorite aspects of HWS: The people -- President Gearan is one of the smartest, civically minded, dedicated, and successful people you will ever meet. I think that he is one of the greatest assets of HWS along with his wonderful family. He and his family made my time at HWS so memorable. Also, the professors are fantastic. I graduated almost 3 yrs ago and continue to collaborate on research articles with one of my undergraduate mentors. The relationships you develop with the people at HWS can really last years, if not a lifetime. There are so many great people on campus it is hard to list them all -- but I want to give a shoutout to the Admissions staff and the Alumni House staff who are also fun and awesome! Woo. The campus -- The campus is beautiful and they do a good job of renovating and keeping it up-to-date for the most part. Also, you are on a 35 mile long lake in the middle of NY wine country! Yes, that means wine tasting, wine tours and wine class (.5 of a credit!). This is absolutely appropriate considering it is freezing and miserable 6 months out of the year so they need to make up for this in some way -- aka their proximity to vineyards and wineries. Also, you can basically navigate between any 2 points on campus in 20 minutes. The education -- My undergrad education absolutely prepared me for my post-college life and has set me up for a PhD program. Overall, the professors were knowledgeable, dedicated and fair. If you work hard and are intelligent, you will do well. I feel as if many of my professors had high standards that pushed me to always do my best. Basically, I love HWS and think that the opportunities overall are hard to parallel. The study abroad, community service and career development opportunities are all excellent and worth the ~$53,000/yr pricetag!

Kinda tough, given that I almost have to give it 5 stars…read more.. but this past summer, back for reunion, they did it up in style. gave us the freedom and flexibility to choose from a number of planned activities, or do nothing at all, and hang out on the quad until 3 a.m., even giving us unfettered access to the sound system, so we could blast 80's tunes on the sound system. Everything for reunion was done extremely well, which reflects the leadership of President Gearen and the culture of the school that hasn't changed signficantly since I left many years ago. Hell, even Professor Marvin Bram is still tooling around on his 1950's era bike. Great school, excellent faculty and students. Hidden gem. Thanks Bishop Hobart!!

They do involuntary holds every time I visit here. I always get injected with something by a…read morenon-doctor within 20 minutes of being put into the inside of the hospital. To me it is an injection that stops analytical thinking and makes my brain feel squeezed by a tight rope. I said no to it but she don't care. My visits here everytime last 5+ days ending with a hospital transfer against my will to Upstate at Community General they also own. I'm involuntary held at upstate at community general for around another 5+ days. Upstate hospital wants me to take mental changing pills and when I say no I'm denied the medical tests I request and they don't let me leave. Every time I go there they diagnose me with biopolar. I don't have that in my opinion. Upstate has patients use beds that are uncomfortable on my butt. They're reclining hospital beds. No obgyn on staff or a lab willing to test my stool.
