    Premium fish broth shoyu ramen

Nothing wrong with the fish broth ramen. It is a little on the sweet side, but I like it. Tried the premium original and for a little over $20, I'd like the portion bigger.

New ramen place in South Torrance and we decided to try it. The restaurant took over the previous onigiri store slot inside of Tokyo Central food court. The menu is quite simple and for this visit we ordered the following items (ready after 15 min): Premium Onodera Kiwami Shoyu Ramen (I don't think they needed to have such long name for a bowl of ramen): The presentation was spot on with nice arrangement of the ingredients. The broth was flavorful, not too oily, and slightly on the salty side. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. The chashu slices were tender, and the fresh cut green onions gave an added flavor. The egg was nicely runny. Premium Black Garlic Ramen: The broth was quite creamy with an umamishi sweetness. Crushed garlic provided a strong aroma and flavor. The chashu slices were tender, and the noodles were thinner than shoyu ramen's and less al dente. The prices were slightly higher for food court setting, and the portions were sensibly smaller. Nevertheless, it is still a good option for ramen aficionados in South Bay.

Ginza Onodera is a ramen shop located within Tokyo Central PCH food court. Order can be placed in-person and the cashier will give you a buzzer for when the order is ready. I visited on a Saturday evening about an hour before closing time. To make a long story short, both the customer service and the actual food quality at this ramen shop made me fully regret getting dinner here. The restaurant associate who took my order was very rude. I waited in line and I was ready to place the order. When it was my turn to order, the cashier abruptly interrupted me mid-sentence to speak to a customer behind me. She then had the audacity to ask me whether I am ready to place the order or know what I want to order. Wow! Yes, m'aam yes!! I sure was!! Let's forget about your mid-sentence interruption, lady! Brilliant!! Anyway , once the order was placed, I was given a buzzer so I know when the food is ready. Altogether from placing the order to picking up took about 20 minutes or so. The noodles were very over-boiled and soggy. The eggs that accompanied the dish had zero seasoning. So it was essentially straight up peeled hard boiled egg. Same with the spinach and rest of the toppings like the nori and chashu. Very flavorless and skimpy. I didn't know there are places that serves chashu like this. So thin to the point you can eat all 3 pieces in one bite. The broth was very lukewarm. For something that was supposed to be a hot steaming ramen, it felt like I was eating leftover lunch that I didn't bother reheating. The broth itself tasted like something I would use for udon dishes and not ramen dishes. Very strongly flavored with bonito flakes and bitter from over boiling it at some point. Not something I want another bowl of again. For close to $20 for ramen, I would have gone to Koryu Ramen, Jidaiya, or Tasuno-ya. Really anywhere else but here for a much better bowl of ramen. What I received on Saturday was shameful. I so wish I just went to Pasta Stories next door. Their spaghetti tastes fresh and employees there have better attitudes. Cheaper too compared to the overpriced junk you get from Onodera. Also, keep in mind that it's hard to find seating or clean tables during peak hours. Saturday evening was full of screaming shrieking children running around just to amp up the ambiance. Definitely won't be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone I know.

I'm a huge fan of ramen and so I was super excited when I heard there was a new ramen shop that opened up at Tokyo Central in Torrance. Ramen Ginza Onodera offers ramen inspired by Michelin starred Sushi Ginza Onodera in Tokyo. When I saw that they are specialize in fish based soy sauce ramen, I will admit that I was a bit worried. I don't eat seafood and having a fish based broth definitely wouldn't be something for me. Being such a big ramen fan however, I still wanted to give this spot a try. When I got there, I asked the girl at the counter if everything had a fish based broth. She mentioned that the two shoyu ramens were the only two on the menu that did not. I chose to get the Premium Kiwaki Shoyu Ramen ($18.75). Premium meant more meat and egg. The ramen definitely looked good when it got served. I did notice however that there was a slight fishy smell. When I tasted the broth it was salty with a bit of a seafood taste. This surprised me considering this was supposed to be one of the two ramens without the fish based soy sauce. I also noticed the noodles were a bit clumped together. I had high hopes for the ramen but up front it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I knew from the start this spot specialized in fish broth base. I had just hoped that their non-seafood based soups would be something I would enjoy but it was a bit different than what I imagined. It is possible all their broths are made in the same pot hence the fishy smell and taste. For those who enjoy seafood, this is a spot you may like. For foodies like me who are not too keen on fish, this spot might not be the place for you. Overall this place wasn't quite what I expected but other folks that like seafood fans may like it.

I really wanted to like ramen ginza onodera but the ramen was a flop to me. Willing to try it again since I visited only few days after their grand opening. +located in food court of new Tokyo central in Hawthorne and PCH. Plenty of parking available in the lot. -We ordered premium rich fish broth base shoyu ramen and premium onodera kiwami shoyu ramen. The fish broth base ramen's fishiness was too strong and not too enjoyable. The kiwami shoyu ramen was also okay, soup was ordinary and worst of if all, some of the ramen was clumped together and not loosened so it was cooked unevenly. We were hoping this was going to be the new IT ramen spot but it definitely not lived up to its expectation. We may give it another try, hoping it's better next time!

My family and I wanted to try Ramen Ginza Onodera and stopped by last Saturday during lunch time. We were a group of three and we ordered 3 different bowls so that we could try the different soups and noodles. The three bowls we ordered were (1) Premium Onodera Shoyu Ramen, (2) Premium Fish Broth Shoyu Ramen, and (3) Premium Black Garlic Ramen. Of the three, I liked the Premium Fish Broth Shoyu Ramen as I enjoyed the hint of fish flavor with the classic shoyu taste. The service was quick and they brought out each bowl of ramen as it was made to keep the noodles from getting soggy. The food court is clean, bright, and has a few other food options for the rest of the family. They seem to have worked out some of the kinks posted by others before me as I did not have any problems with the noodles or the soup and the portion was just right for everyone in my group. I will visit again when I am in the Torrance area.

I ordered the Premium Black Garlic Ramen. I really liked the rich, thick broth and the chewy noodles. I got to watch my char siu being roasted at the very end--it was soft and full of flavor. My boyfriend got his ramen and a bowl of rice to dunk in soup at last and make it like ramen soup risotto. It was so good!

Picked up my favorite Calbee Shrimp Chips at Tokyo Central. Been seeing some activity on Yelp about their food court. I ordered the Premium Shoyu Ramen for my mom to go. My mom thinks they might use shrimp in the broth. She liked the pork and the egg. Next time, I'm going to try the Fish Broth Ramen.

This quaint little spot sits in a small strip mall on 182nd Street & Crenshaw right next to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Parking is decent, and the cozy interior gives it that authentic neighborhood ramen shop vibe, although I usually order mine to-go. My wife and I always order the Tonkotsu Ramen. The pork broth is absolutely incredible -- rich, creamy and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of saltiness poured over perfectly cooked noodles. The bowl comes topped with: * Bamboo shoots * Diced green onion * Pork belly * Marinated egg halves * Braised pork * Mushrooms * Dried seaweed If you order takeout, they package the broth separately from the noodles and toppings so the noodles don't get soggy before you get home. The price is reasonable and honestly worth every penny, and the staff is always willing to assist with questions. Pro tip: I add Chef Troy's Crunchy Garlic Chili Oil for an extra level of flavor (purchased at Vons)

Everything from the flavor to the experience just feels a step above. The (always-vegan) broth is rich and well-balanced, and you can really tell the focus is on quality. One thing I really appreciate is how accommodating they are with customizations. I usually ask for my ramen without nori (seaweed) and skip the egg, and they get it right every time. It might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference not having to send anything back. The atmosphere is also a big plus. It's cozy and inviting, perfect for sitting down and enjoying a warm bowl of ramen. The first time we went it was pretty busy, but it still felt comfortable. The second time, we went earlier in the day and it was quieter, which made the experience even better. At this point, anytime I'm craving ramen, this is where we go. From their Spicy Garnet, Quartz, gyoza, sushi, different buns, etc. But the Amber Ramen is spectacular! Rich broth with a deep umami from the shoyu and bonito flake mix. The chashu cuts are seared beautifully. On the topic of pork, the pork belly buns make for a great bite too. I love the sauces they included. My only slight notes are that the ramen is occasionally greasy and the chashu featured is on the thinner side. I'd expect more given the price tag for single bowl. Lastly, their plum wine is definite pleasant surprise. Fragrant, light, and compliments most of their ramen options quite well. I'll have to order a bottle the next time I'm in with friends.

Skip the Shacho Ramen and go for the pork rice bowl! The Breakdown Service & Speed: 5/5. I ordered within 5 minutes and the food arrived in 10. The manager lady is amazing, charismatic, and highly memorable. They're full service, they packed my leftovers. The Highlight (Pork Rice Bowl): Generous portion of rice and incredibly tender pork. Mixing in the egg and mayo made the dish, became the highlight of my meal. The Perks: Their menu is simple and straightforward, and adding extra toppings to your ramen is actually relatively inexpensive. The Disappointment (Shacho Ramen): This was my first meal here without fried chicken, and the Shacho Ramen unfortunately fell flat. It completely lacked the complexity and depth I was looking for. The Broth: Had the rich, heavy sesame creaminess I demanded, but it was incredibly one-note outside of that. The Spice: Level 2 had no heat at all. I asked for a side of extra spice, which helped a bit, but didn't save the dish. The Noodles: Very bland.Ended up packing most of it away Verdict: Come for the great service, cheap add-ons, and excellent rice bowls, but pass on the Shacho Ramen.
